People are SO nice, knowledgeable, and helpful. The store isn’t all too big, but they somehow always have everything I need. I freaking love Nicollet Hardware and its cats!

“My husband & I shopped at Welna Hardware for ornaments to put on the tree the first year we were married (1970). As I recall, it was Welna Our Own Hardware then, run by Mr. & Mrs. Welna. It was the place we went for hardware & advice (like finding a good repair guy when the second hand refrigerator we’d bought from a store on Franklin Ave. was dying.) The kind of place that helped a new-to-the-city young bride feel at home in Minneapolis.
It’s been many years since we lived in Minneapolis, though we still have one/two of the ornaments. When I stumbled across this listing today, I was delighted to see the store continues as a community institution.”

“Great neighborhood store. Very good selection of quality brands and products. Helpful, friendly, knowledgeable staff always ready to assist. Well organized store- easy to find what you’re looking for, and things you weren’t looking for! Fun place to browse. I also live that I don’t have to leave a trail of bread crumbs to find my way out. I can but what I need and not have to plan for a days hike just get what I need.”

“A truly amazing decking supply retailer. Dale took the time to fully understand my front porch stair railing project and helped me understand exactly what I needed to get the job done the right way. Specifically, I thought I needed to buy an entirely different railing system when in fact all I needed were the swivel brackets to accommodate the uncommon low pitch (degree) angle of my front steps. Pro Deck Supply lost a few bucks as a result of Dale's honesty -- he could have simply allowed my order for unnecessary stuff go through. Instead he made me aware of a better and less costly solution, but he guaranteed our return business when we replace our back stoop with an elaborate deck. The Golden Rule. Today's ray of hope. Reaffirmation of faith in humanity. Okay, I'll stop... You can trust this company.”

“I have been going to this location for help for years. I have gone looking for help on some of the hardest things to find and have not been let down by these helpful people. Today I needed a belt for a gravely lawn mower, and the gentlemen who helped me told me he probably would not have the belt i needed because they are proprietary. Low and behold 20 minutes later he found the length and went to the wall of belts and gave me what I needed to fix the mower. I highly recommend checking with them for parts before going online to find something and waiting two or more days to get it delivered.”

“I've been in here a few time & have always had a good experience. I recently discovered that they carry bulk packs of Toggler Snap-Toggle anchors. These are my go-to for any kind of heavy duty wall anchoring. The big box stores & even many of the hometown hardware stores have dropped Toggler for the Hillman brand knock offs because their profit margins are better. The Hillman product is absolutely inferior, and a pain to use. I won't use them.
This store clearly cares about serving it's customers well!

“Need something specific? Need it quick? The staff waiting as you enter the store will help you find what you need. Yes, I go to the big-box stores, but when I need to be sure they'll have it, I visit Ace. Their hardware section is much more complete. When others are out of stock, I've found it here.”
“This is much like the old fashioned hardware store. The aisles are much closer together than a big box store. They are packing a huge amount of products and services into a smaller area. Their employees are very knowledgeable and helpful. The part I like best is that I can walk into the store with a bolt or screw and I can get help finding the exact match. Then I can just buy as many as I need, rather than a whole box.”
