“Phoned ahead of time to ask if they had rubber gloves. They said they did. Went in, was greeted, asked where the rubber gloves were, was directed to both places instore with them, got the forearm length rubber gloves I was looking for and a scrub brush for like 15$ total. :)”
“Dale and his crew were knowledgeable and helpful- helped me determine the best electric mower and unpacked it and set it up and loaded it in my vehicle for me. Bought online only took two days to arrive, one day earlier than stated. Love the local service, instead of the big box hassle.”
“**Update:The manager Angie called me up and was very apologetic and friendly. A company who is willing to actually follow through and see why their customers are upset that’s pretty rare and awesome. She explained why their system did what it did and they’re working on it. Here’s your five stars back. **I’ve been to the store many times and I like it a lot.However I placed a large-ish delivery for the next day. 20’ flats that I didn’t have a trailer for. I got the order in before 2pm etc. a couple minutes later I get a confirmation email that says it will be a week later. I call them up they say they can still deliver the next day but the fee will be $150. Ok fine - paid it.They call me say they only have 25 and I needed 35 but they’ll deliver them for free when the additional 10 get in and said they would reverse my $150 deliver charge because it was their fault. Sweet!Here’s where I decided to leave a review.* They call again- and said they can’t deliver until 4 days from now.* if I want it tomorrow it will be $300.* and it will only be 25 of the 35 I needed.So my project was completely hosed.I just cancelled my order and I’ll try elsewhere. Be careful when you order on their website because their inventory is not live and you won’t find out until you call them.”
“Really great local hardware store. Love that they've stayed in the area and hope they continue to be in the community. Customer service is good, prices are good, and they have specialty services I didn't even know existed.Needed to get 15 different storm windows built to fit in the frames missing windows. Was able to bring in the frames or existing windows that were an exact match to what I needed and they got it done quick and at a good price. Highly recommend to anyone in the area!”
“What’s with all the 1-star reviews over masks. They were ridiculous then and they are still ridiculous now that we have even more data to show how arbitrary and unnecessary they and lockdowns were. I’m leaving a 5-star review because the products here are exceptional, which is what matters. And also to counteract some of the stupidity coming from mask reviews. Some in this country has lost their minds.”
“Walked in with a nondescript faucet part I needed to replace, after another store didn’t have it. The guy at the counter knew the brand and part right away and then suggested an additional part I might need, which ended up being the case. Love these smaller shops with experts who can get it right for you the first time!”

“My dishwasher hose had a leak in it and I wanted to avoid a full replacement if I could. I stopped in at Frattallone’s and Derek was incredibly helpful showing me what things I would need to finish the job. Dishwasher is now operational with no leaks! Love having this level of service in the neighborhood!”

Give this local place your money vs any big box store. They are so customer service forward, they'll help you find whatever you need and offer their knowledge if you need it. Kudos!”
“Super helpful people there to help you troubleshoot your problems.Service is definitely five star.The place is smaller and might not have everything you need in a hardware store, but you can get 80 to 90% of what you need. And like smaller hardware stores. They really excel at services or recommendations for a homeowner. I believe they cut glass and work on window and door screens as well.”

When I got to the aisle, another employee was ready to help me find exactly the right size and style within seconds! Very nice and attentive staff! “A truly amazing decking supply retailer. Dale took the time to fully understand my front porch stair railing project and helped me understand exactly what I needed to get the job done the right way. Specifically, I thought I needed to buy an entirely different railing system when in fact all I needed were the swivel brackets to accommodate the uncommon low pitch (degree) angle of my front steps. Pro Deck Supply lost a few bucks as a result of Dale's honesty -- he could have simply allowed my order for unnecessary stuff go through. Instead he made me aware of a better and less costly solution, but he guaranteed our return business when we replace our back stoop with an elaborate deck. The Golden Rule. Today's ray of hope. Reaffirmation of faith in humanity. Okay, I'll stop... You can trust this company.”

“This is much like the old fashioned hardware store. The aisles are much closer together than a big box store. They are packing a huge amount of products and services into a smaller area. Their employees are very knowledgeable and helpful. The part I like best is that I can walk into the store with a bolt or screw and I can get help finding the exact match. Then I can just buy as many as I need, rather than a whole box.”

“Unfortunately, this location in St. Louis Park, Jerry's Do It Best Hardware and Rental announced on October 13, 2025 that they will be closing permanently (the St. Louis Park Jerry's and Maple Grove Jerry's) beginning January 1, 2026. It was great store for 10+ years. Jerry's is a good place to bring your lawnmower, weed trimmers, leaf blower, chainsaws and snowblower in for tune-ups and seasonal repairs! Yes, I go to the big-box stores, but when I need to be sure they'll have it, I visit Ace. Their hardware section is much more complete. When others are out of stock, I've found it here.”
“So, this is quite the gem.. Have stopped into this location multiple times and have always had amazing service which is rare for most stores in this sector... Reason for writing, John (customer service rep) took time for my needs on pest control.. Didn't rush the interaction, just gave me the time to ask questions and his answers were so very helpful... This guy is a DIAMOND.
From this experience alone, I will only be shopping at Gopher Ace for my hardware needs.. I am conveniently close to the big box stores but NEVER get this type of service. I would be lucky for a smile.
Kudos also to the cashier, Mary.. what a wonderful person... She gives the final charm for a wonderful experience.

Jim was very helpful in getting me started, and the company was dedicated to helping small business owners. There was also Brian, who was always friendly towards me. However, after the events of 9/11, I didn't have the courage to keep going. Nevertheless, I had made a name for myself and eventually sold my business to focus on building up welding departments. I took Toll with me wherever I went, as they always beat the competition's prices. Being a Miller guy, I was also kept up to date with new products, and Toll's reliability and aggressiveness made me look good. Unfortunately, Toll doesn't exist where I live now, which is a real shame. I wanted to say thank you to Toll for everything they did for me."”
