Next thing I know we’re staring at an Heckler & Koch pistol with a red dot on it. German engineering. Precision. The kind of handgun that doesn’t whisper “self defense,” it announces “I have opinions about tolerances.”
It practically screamed, “Yes, I drive a BMW M during the week and a Porsche on weekends.” Which, honestly, felt on brand.
We’re almost done with paperwork. I’m mentally calculating adult responsibilities.
Then she sees it.
An Heckler & Koch rifle on the rack. Clean. Tactical. Price tag reading like it has its own passport.
She gives me that look.
You know the one.
Long story short, we did not leave with a “basic carry pistol.”
We left with two pieces of German mechanical art and a stack of paperwork thick enough to qualify as a short novel.
Scheels is dangerous. You go in thinking practical. You leave thinking, “Well… if we’re doing this, we’re doing it right.”
My wife now owns 9 H&Ks.
