“Great location, comfortable beds and pillows, which is important to me easy access to local stores and freeway. Front desk help is very good. The breakfast staff was very good, especially Sophia who went above and out of her way to accommodate my picky Daughter with some bacon. it was a little getting used to having to call for things for the rain because they don’t do daily made service but didn’t like that. The garbage was being put in the hallway and left there and somebody kept putting a diaper by the elevator doors and we had to keep telling the staff not that that’s their fault but it would’ve been nice. There was a convenient garbage outside them to put that in.”

“We booked around 11pm & initially called Homes2. After comparing rates with dog fee, we decided on Hilton Garden Inn since rates were a little better after talking to the Hilton booking agent via call. Both Homes2 and Hilton Garden are under the Hilton umbrella so I was able to use my membership discount. There is a $75 pet fee in which is for a fee for the entire stay (they do not have a per night policy, which thank god and I hope they don’t implement that ever).

Check in was great. We got here before midnight. Lady was nice and seemed like she was training someone new. She answered all of my questions and overall provided great service. Hotel is also clean. Pool is from 7am-10pm. Unfortunately our room did not come with breakfast but you can buy it for $15/person. I feel like with the rate, it should come with free breakfast. Lastly our room was also spacious for our two dogs and two adults. Would book again because this location has a check out time at NOON which is a huge plus!”

“Wonderful place to stay!! Especially good when you have events in downtown St Paul. I've traveled the world. The closest I can compare this to is a great old hotel near Old Town in Prague, in the Czech Republic.”

“Was there with my lil chihuahua Bob while we waited to move into our new place in Minneapolis. I wished the room had a small fridge but it’s whatever.

“Couldn't give it a 5 due to low water pressure and hairs in the shower. That being said, everything else was fantastic! Huge shout out to Michelle at the front desk who checked us in. Best customer service ive had in a long time. Stayed here a few times and never really had an issue. Great location, valet parking and all the amenities.”

“I had an outstanding stay at SpringHill Suites by Marriott St. Paul Downtown. From start to finish, the experience was welcoming, clean, comfortable, and professional.

The General Manager, Jeroen Grob, was amazing and clearly leads a wonderful team. The staff throughout the hotel were kind, helpful, attentive, and made the stay feel very personal.

The hotel itself was very clean, and I felt comfortable and safe in the location. My room was spotless, thanks to Angelica, my room attendant, who did an amazing job. It is always appreciated when a hotel room feels truly clean and well cared for.

The breakfast was honestly one of the best I have ever had at a hotel. There was a wonderful variety, and I loved that the options changed daily. Everything was fresh, hot, and well stocked, and the breakfast area was always clean. A special thank you to Carmen and Melissa for the care they put into the breakfast experience. I especially appreciated that quality cheeses and meats were available each day — such a nice touch and a step above what you often find at hotel breakfasts.

Vera at check-in was also lovely, warm, and personable. She made the arrival experience feel easy and welcoming right away.

Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations. The space was clean, the staff was kind and attentive, the location felt safe and convenient, and every detail made the stay enjoyable. I would absolutely recommend SpringHill Suites by Marriott St. Paul Downtown and would gladly stay here again.”

“Incredibly unique experience. The main lobby is warm and welcoming. The room was great. The dishes at the restaurant are top notch. The service across the hotel day/night and every aspect was provided by an experienced and genuine staff. Hotel also offers some fun hidden gems.”

“Edit: Revised to 4 star from 2. Appreciate the hotel taking the appropriate action and taking it with seriousness it warrants.
It's a nice hotel but beware the room doors don't latch if you just let them close on their own. We had someone try to enter our room while we were in it! They were going down the hallway pushing on doors looking for rooms that weren't latched. So obviously this vulnerability is known to criminals. This is a serious safety issue that should be addressed.”

“Hampton Inn & Suites Minneapolis University Area was a great stay. The staff was fabulous, the free breakfast was enjoyable, and the parking was easy and accessible. A comfortable and convenient choice for anyone visiting the area.”

“I stayed here one night for a concert at the palace theater on a Saturday night. My friend and I walked to the palace and back and felt safe.
Look up on the hotels website where they recommend to park. If you're prepared, it's easy enough.
Interesting history to the hotel gave some charm to staying here vs any other cookie cutter hotel. Rooms were clean and the free breakfast was delicious. The food and drinks at the hotel bar/restaurant was delicious but a little pricey. We were prepared for that being in the city though. I'll definitely stay here again if I'm ever needing to be in the area.”

“******update- The hotel staff reached out to me and he was extremely embarrassed that the room was in this state and assured me the issue would be resolved. We stayed again while we were in town and this time the room was perfect!!

We stayed January 24th for a quick overnight before a flight out the next morning. We arrived late and when we got to our room the carpet by our bathroom was completely ripped up and the wood floor board was even exposed. And the wall tile was completely coming off. See photos. I am not sure how anyone cleaning this room can’t see this as a problem. I wouldn’t expect a place of this caliber to have this be their standard. I was completely shocked they would put us in a room with this at the price you pay to stay here. Unfortunately, I will not be returning.”

“This is probably my favorite Hilton property I've stayed at as an adult.

The room with a view and a tub was great, staff were super on top of it (house keeping somehow turned around our room while we were downstairs at Cosmos for Breakfast).

Our mini fridge was on the fritz but everything else was so top notch we barely noticed.”

“It is the perfect location for the Target center activities and parking. The rooms were clean and nice. We had a basic queen room and we were there for two nights. Very nice experience. The best thing about the hotel was the staff. Everyone that we had contact we very pleasant and helpful. I will definitely stay again when I can.”

“Location is nice, staff is great, the noon check out is a bonus. We were there for a family trip and our room smelled extremely musty, the iron in the room basically didn’t work and stained my dress. The A/C whined and groaned whenever it kicked on and off. The hot water took a long time to warm up. My parents’ room at least didn’t smell weird but overall I was relatively unimpressed.”

After our canceled flight I phoned, Thomas was a great help. Our reservation was held till we arrived two days later. I phoned Lori about our flight the following day. She was very helpful and concerned about our delay. When we finally arrived after midnight, Georgia was polite and greeted us with a smile.
Throughout our 9 day stay Lori called us by name the entire time. Always with a Hello and Welcome Back.
Breakfast was very good! Always kept very clean and stocked with hot fresh food.
Housekeeping was always greeted with a smile and a very quick response to any request.

“Write downtown Minneapolis so a great location if you are going to the Target Arena or US Bank Arena or want to explore downtown. We unfortunately had a bad experience. Arrived at the hotel around 7:00 p.m. and it is a secured entrance which is nice but ringing the front desk phone there was nobody there to let us in. Fortunately another guest let us in the door but then we waited at the front desk which was empty for many minutes. Check in was normal and and the room was average and clean and good enough for a cheap 1112 room. You either have to do valet parking at the which costs $49 or you can select a parking garage 2 to 3 blocks away and walk for around 15 to $25 overnight. The hotel itself is very nice and clean and spacious and a good solid breakfast offering of all of the standards of scrambled eggs and cereal and waffles and bacon and fruits and yogurts. If you want to stay right downtown for cheap then this is a good option”

“Most staff were pleasant and helpful. We needed to stay longer so on Monday night I went down to the desk and asked if we could extend our stay a couple of days. The clerk tried but said we would have to do it with the app we used to make our reservation. I asked if he could do it, but he said the system said our room was showing unavailable. We knew the hotel was at least half empty and I said so. He took offense at my comment. I was shocked, but he made no attempt to find us anything for the next two days. He didn’t even offer to look. When we checked out I mentioned this and was told the hotel WAS half empty and there was plenty of space for us. But, we had already booked another hotel. We are happy we moved and find the new hotel preferable. Even though the room was nice and clean and we enjoyed the facilities we won’t be back. Who needs to be treated as if their stay is a bother?”

“I am here for business in MSP quite often, and I choose this location every time it’s available. Justine and Maggie are the reason I keep coming back dude to their high level of customer service and attention to detail.

Rooms are clean and updated. If you need anything, the team at the counter are more than willing to help. The area is fun in the summer time with local markets and events. 5/5 stars! I will continue to stay here when in the area.”

“I stayed at the Hyatt last night. It is beautiful and very close walking distance to The Target Center and plenty of restaurants. Parking was easy and the hotel is very clean. The only reason I wouldn’t give it a perfect score is because despite having a menu in the room to order room service for breakfast, when we tried to do so, we were told it essentially isn’t real and there was a buffet downstairs if we wanted to go get it ourselves.”

“If you have a chance to be in this hotel you can definitely enjoy the lounge bar with the restaurant the stairs weekends they have DJ with music. Perfect place downtown the team and the bartenders provide great service. If you looking for hotel that you want to stay and enjoy without going somewhere else time on the bar that's your place to be. Dress code is recommended to be elegant and up. Many of cocktail and small appetizer options later tonight as well.”

“I was very impressed with this hotel all around! Rooms were updated and clean. The hotel was located nicely between the heart of downtown and U of M. We were close to everything without the stress of driving/parking directly downtown.

There were so many cool restaurants and things to do walking distance from the hotel. We personally loved the mill city museum tour, thats only a couple blocks away. Highly reccomend!

The amenities were wonderful at the hotel. The lobby has numerous games out to play, self serve coffee, food, and bar. They had a pool table, shuffle boards table, numerous board games, and coloring station for kids. We found ourselves hanging out here before dinner every evening.

The pool area was very nice and also had an outdoor lounge area and hot tub!

Ladies at the front deck were also so incredibly nice and helpful!

“Quaint and cozy place with some nice updates; I've stayed here a few dozen times over the last decade. Front-of-house staff is wonderful to work with. The Normandy Kitchen attached is also a very nice place for dinner or a drink.”

“We stayed here when my mom was having surgery at abbott and I cannot thanks these guys enough for their empathy, understanding, hospitality, and overall amazing-ness! Special shout out to Tristan at the front desk and Joseph at the bar for taking such good care of us and being amazing people! The rooms were great too.”
