“Each of the three adjacent houses (Wylie, Longfellow, and Bernstein) have a laundry room, clean linen room, full kitchen, and several play areas and spaces for adults to relax. There is a theater room in the basement at the Wylie House, as well as a piano in the family room. Kudos to the volunteer groups that bring meals in. Last night I ate pulled pork, BBQ beans, chips, and a drink.
RMH texts every morning what will be served and activities at each Ronald McDonald House.

“I didnt go to this place but I did call about a Mourning Dove fledgling my Nephew found after the bad storms before Memorial Day. I called on a Sunday morning and had a call back nearly immediately with instructions on what to do because I'm an hr and half away from KC. I was extremely happy with the information because it was right and the fledgling flew away after drying out warming up. Definitely recommended”
“The person who was working yesterday, who I believe may be the owner or a manager, was SO amazing!! They were so cheerful, explained how their store works and their mission, and was so inviting. They are very obviously passionate about fashion, and made it seem like each piece of clothing was art. They complimented my pants, which had me feeling so good when I left - we need more of that kindness in the world. Just had to drop by to thank them!?”
“I tell e.one about this place. They make having a pet affordable w the cost of shots less then half the price of a regular vet office. They are fast & friendly w a very effective way of processing their appointments w an easy to use website to schedule your appointment easily & they send out reminders every year when your pet is due for shots. They also have cat & dog food available for free for those who r in need as well as supplies like bowls, leashes, collars, cages even s.times.Great resource if u have pets!!”

“Outstanding program! Although these people have disabilities, they have tons of talent in many different ways. Some people are intimated by people with disabilities as i was until I was blessed with the opportunity to really get to know Beth Hartley. I discovered something I didn't know or understand. They are PEOPLE and they have immense value to add to our understanding of diversity. They need us, to understand them and the joy returned to us cannot be put into words without experiencing personal interaction with them. Do not be afraid to love them.... They will love you in their own way.”

“I was at Healing House for 3 months and it was the best thing that I could’ve done. They truly prepare you to be on your own and the counselors and staff are amazing. Bobbi Jo is so passionate about what she does and I feel extremely lucky to have been a part of what she does and having the opportunity the community she created. During my time there, it was very rare to see someone relapse or leave before they were strong enough to be on their own and I feel like that is the most telling thing about Healing House. It’s a safe place that keeps you busy and keeps you on track. ❤”
“Adding some details now that my kid is not here (never can be too careful!).
My kid was here from 3 months old until Pre-K graduation. The teachers from day 1 were the brightest part of my child's early education. Ms. Debrina gave us tips and pointers at pickup every day, to help our kid move on to the next stage, and her tips were an invaluable part of us raising a healthy and happy baby. During Covid, the school took precautions to make sure all the kids would be healthy, all the while providing the much needed daycare so we could still work. Ms. Jackie had our kid for longer than expected due to Covid, and she helped our kid explore, learn and read. Ms Lachon had a true gift to get those 3-4 year old kids in line, and excited for the next task, and all of these early year teachers had the patience of a saint. There is no way I could do what they do for these kids every single day. They truly made Della Lamb an AWESOME experience that I would recommend to any parent.
Our kid also attended Pre-K with Ms. Dayna, and she was able to work with our kid in a 1-on-1, while also attending to the whole class. She has a true gift for education, to make each kid feel special and unique.
Overall, I would send my kid back through the program if I had to start over. Without these teachers, my kid would definitely not be where he is today, thriving in school! I still run into the teachers from time to time either at official events or in the community, and I'm instantly filled with gratitude and thanks for all of their time spent with my little boy.”
“Can’t say enough good things about how this nonprofit is run. I will volunteer here again and again! We’ve volunteered here many times in 2-hour shifts and it’s laid out well, there are so many different things you can do, lockers for your stuff, FUN MUSIC ? and it’s a feel-good situation. Signing up is easy. It’s all very easy to become a single volunteer or do it with a group! Bringing coworkers and homeschool groups! Love it!”

The guys that work here really look out for every single person that comes in the store. Not only is it affordable with a great selection, and truly professional staff, but they take so much time and put a great amount of care into every interaction without asking for much in return.”

“My 7-year-old has been taking dance classes here since she was 2 1/2. We absolutely love the teaching artists, staff, and community. The teachers focus on training, not competition. All of the dancers wear costumes that are age-aporopriate and truly look like the young ladies and gentlemen they are in stage. The community is diverse and feels like a family. I can't say enough about how much our family loves KCYA!”

“Sleepyhead Beds was an incredibly simple way to donate my no longer needed mattresses and box springs. I submitted a form including a date and received an email with a time for pick-up. I received a phone call 15-30 minutes before they arrived. Then, a quick inspection to ensure feasibility for next the users and boom, your mattresses are off to a new home.
Plan ahead so that it's a simple process. Wonderful service provided by Jason and Miles, appreciate you.”
