My dog who got skin scabs last year due to allergies did not get any this year when I kept up on baths with the allergy shampoo! I am super impressed by how well these worked!

16021 E US Hwy 40, Kansas CityWe absolutely love, Dr. Epstein, Damon and unfortunately, I don’t remember his name, but the kid with the glasses that works at the front desk as well. We started going to him back during the solar eclipse when we needed our dogs boarded and have been going to him ever since. I went to the vet school for a few years and had to drop out so I’m very picky and who I bring my animals too, but there’s not enough words in the dictionary to describe how much I love this vet! We have two dogs and three cats and Monday, December 15, 2025. We had to put down our 15-year-old ciao retriever mix who had a tumor and severe hip dysplasia and last year Dr. Epstein tried to remove the tumor, but my dog went into respiratory distress and it couldn’t be done. So for the past year, he kept him comfortable on medication, checking his blood work and stuff often and just maintaining the quality of life that he had left. Monday after hard consideration, we decided to bring him in and have him put down and Dr. Epstein and the kid with glasses pretty much waited until the clinic cleared out, and we were there by ourselves and not only did he give us one on one attention but they were so sweet and that’s what I like the most about him as he’s not gonna feed you a line of crap he’s realistic with expectations and what normal people can afford for their pets. once the clinic closed Monday, he let us lay with our dog for as long as we wanted and told us we could have as long as we wanted, and if Jeremy and I waited until midnight to leave our dog, I know that would’ve been OK like I said, he’s very compassionate. I appreciate him and everything he’s ever done everything he’s ever told us has been correct and I have the most respect for him. I will not bring any of my animals to anybody but him so I hope he’s around for a long time.
His prices are extremely reasonable as well I mean, unfortunately some places are all about profit, but you can really tell that this guy actually cares about your animal and he cares about what you think is pet parents. You definitely should go check him out. I guarantee you’ll fall in love with these guys like we did so thank you guys for helping with Kodiak on Monday because that was the hardest decision we ever had to make, but I know you made his passing so much more better than it would’ve been anywhere else. I thank you for that deeply!!!!!

Our basset hound puppy, Gouda, saw Dr. Hodge, who was wonderful and took the time to explain everything clearly. Liberty assisted during the visit and was amazing with Gouda, making him feel comfortable and at ease. You can truly tell this team cares about their patients and their people.
We have another visit scheduled in three weeks for Gouda’s next vaccine and puppy wellness check, and we feel very confident continuing his care here. Highly recommend!

After face planting a couple of times, chasing down a wild “preteen” (our Shep) through the neighborhood, almost breaking a finger in a door jam/gate, etc. we realized the “training” we had previously done with our 2.5-year-old, 120 lb. lover boy wasn’t going to cut it.
After our initial consultation, we decided the 4-week Board and Train with All Dogs Unleashed would be the best fit — not only for Shep, but for us as well.
During Shep’s time away, we received report cards, training videos, and guidance on what we should be practicing at home. Bret (Shep’s favorite trainer) also made sure there was no shortage of love and affection.
In addition to all the work Bret and the other trainers did with Shep, they spent time working with us before our reunion so we felt confident and prepared bringing him home. That was a HUGE plus for me.
Now that we’re officially part of the ADU family, we have lifelong support and training resources for Shep.
We cannot recommend ADUKC enough and are so excited to continue working with Shep! Thank you so, so much, Bret! Now time to enjoy our sweet giant instead of bracing for chaos.

After months of keeping them separate, trying to work it out on our own, and my wife and I residing on different levels of the house, we raised the white flag and looked to an actual expert...cue, Beyond the Dog.Outcome: Erin met with us a few times a week for multiple months and was able to get the pugs back in the right mindset and bring sanity back to our household. She was so efficient that near the tail end [pun intended] she found time to also work on their responsiveness to strangers both at the park and at retail locations. I will be the first to admit that I was skeptical of how all of this would pan out - especially given the monetary cost that bringing an expert in entails. That said, the harmony restored to our household, coupled with my wife's joy in being able to take group photos again, quickly converted the cost into an investment. It was a perfect storm, because on the first day we received a call from the staff saying that our pooch was very sick. Luckily, we use Fountain City Animal Hospital (literally right next door). CITYDOGS worked with Fountain City to organize emergency surgery and post-op care. After a night in the hospital, CITYDOGS took over and nursed our pooch back to health over the next several days. We really couldn't have been more grateful for them going way above and beyond! What a great place.

My baby Rufus LOVES it when we arrive. He is so eager, I have to hold the leash tight or he will pull it out of my hands. Added note: They have about the best rates in town.
Update 11/15/2025. I’ve tried other doggie day care places in town but Kate’s is still he best. One was similar sized and priced and, while good, their staff was not anywhere as good as Kate’s. Not even close. Plus cleanliness seemed to be an issue sometimes. Kate’s staff is good to the dogs AND their parents and is always clean and clean smelling.
I also went to a huge facility and it was twice as expensive. They do have an outdoor play area and lots of staff. But my Rufus finds it overwhelming. I have only been there 3 times but he still doesn’t want to go in. From the first day and everyday since then, Rufus has always been eager to go into Kate’s. He is just much happier there.

They have a monthly party for birthdays and usually another party in the month where they take pictures for a minimal fee. And those pictures are the best!

It’s clear that everyone here has a passion for what they do. I’ve never met anyone who works here I wasn’t impressed by. Also Dr Gilbert calls dogs, kiddos & that’s just my kind of people. I will never take my babies anywhere else!

absolutely love this place!! i was a first timer today and genuinely cannot wait to be back. i got sick of my school's library and was on the hunt for cafes with long hours. the thing is, the other cafes with long hours are lowkey cramped and crowded and idk i'm someone that needs to be able to move around a lot and have flexibility in seating. well this cafe DELIVEREEEDDDDDD so much different seating, such a wide space, and amazing drinks!! honestly really wanna gatekeep this place but i loved it too much to not spread the word and give it more business. also loved the decor and i am so excited to go to some of the community events that are being held at blip and learn more about the history of the west bottoms!

338 W 63rd St, Kansas CityI just finished one of the best breakfasts I've eaten in awhile. I had Jon's Denver omelette with grits and wheat toast and everything was so good, I ate it all.
We got Door dash and picked it up but when I was there (about 11 on a Sunday), it was packed. I didn't get her name at the desk but she was very pleasant and brought my food out to me when it was ready.
