Using this ointment once a day has helped them stay moisturized and we didn’t have one incident of them opening this spring. My dog who got skin scabs last year due to allergies did not get any this year when I kept up on baths with the allergy shampoo! I am super impressed by how well these worked!

My senior cat has usually done well at the vet, but after several bad experiences elsewhere, he had become fearful and lost a lot of that trust. Finding a place where he could feel safe and get the care he needs has been really important to me.
At his very first visit, the team took such good care of him and made him feel extremely comfortable. By the time they needed to take him back for blood work, he wasn’t hiding or crouching in fear. He also let the technician give him a treat and he is usually weary of strangers, so this was a huge step for his trust.
Seeing him feel that at ease again meant so much to me, especially after what he’s been through.
It’s been hard finding the right vet, and I’m so grateful to have found a team that understands cats and knows how to earn their trust.
With a senior cat, knowing he’s in caring hands makes all the difference. Thank you for making this such a positive experience for both of us! ❤

Dr. Cupp and his team have been the most helpful and kindest team of people a stressed pet parent could ever ask for. I have a household full of fur babies, three of them are getting up there in age, and have had big medical things very recently. I have never felt more confident in a group of people handling my babies. I trust each and every one of them and their genuine care and love for the animals they see daily! They explain things, they help where they can, they don't rush you or rush away if you have questions and they treat you like family. I am beyond grateful for the years I have spent going to this clinic... My animals can't say it but I know they are too!

We specifically use the Kansas City office and Dr.Morrow is absolutely amazing. He is kind, informative, and you immediately can tell how much he loves animals/his job. My dogs get a bit nervous around new people and especially men and he is always very kind and gives them space when they need space! All providers we have seen are very knowledgeable and helpful. Cooper was a bit of a wild man coming in, and he’s learned so much, especially impulse control, leash skills, and important commands that have made a big difference at home. Alex and the team really took the time to make sure I understood the best practices for continued training and I feel like they set both Cooper and I up for success. After months of keeping them separate, trying to work it out on our own, and my wife and I residing on different levels of the house, we raised the white flag and looked to an actual expert...cue, Beyond the Dog.Outcome: Erin met with us a few times a week for multiple months and was able to get the pugs back in the right mindset and bring sanity back to our household. She was so efficient that near the tail end [pun intended] she found time to also work on their responsiveness to strangers both at the park and at retail locations. I will be the first to admit that I was skeptical of how all of this would pan out - especially given the monetary cost that bringing an expert in entails. That said, the harmony restored to our household, coupled with my wife's joy in being able to take group photos again, quickly converted the cost into an investment. I was thoroughly impressed & pleased with Pooches Paradise Daycare & Resort when I initially contacted them prior to our Labor Day weekend trip plans. This company was professional, thorough & very kind as they led me through the application & vetting process. GRACE, my 2-year-old Dutch shepherd, is not normally around other dogs, so I was a little leery about her response to being surrounded by many other dogs & her resulting behaviors, given her high energy. They treated her with such incredible love & care during the duration of her stay, and also provide an opportunity to view your pet remotely while they’re boarded and you’re out of town. GRACE clearly had a great time and was well-kept, provided for and loved, as evidenced to me by her calm demeanor & happy spirit when I picked her up. This will be my GO-TO place from here on out!!!!

Kate's Canine Resort

My baby Rufus LOVES it when we arrive. He is so eager, I have to hold the leash tight or he will pull it out of my hands. Added note: They have about the best rates in town.
Update 11/15/2025. I’ve tried other doggie day care places in town but Kate’s is still he best. One was similar sized and priced and, while good, their staff was not anywhere as good as Kate’s. Not even close. Plus cleanliness seemed to be an issue sometimes. Kate’s staff is good to the dogs AND their parents and is always clean and clean smelling.
I also went to a huge facility and it was twice as expensive. They do have an outdoor play area and lots of staff. But my Rufus finds it overwhelming. I have only been there 3 times but he still doesn’t want to go in. From the first day and everyday since then, Rufus has always been eager to go into Kate’s. He is just much happier there.

That’s the feeling I got when recently dining at Dear Donna. The eatery opened earlier this year in the Columbus Park space formerly occupied by Happy Gillis. And let me tell you, its modest dimensions belie the excellence of its food...and the size of its heart.
Many reviews have rightfully lauded the chef/owners, Johnny and Helen Jo Leach, both 2025 and 2026 James Beard Award semi-finalists. Fortunately for us all, their exquisite culinary gifts have truly “come home” at Dear Donna, finding a niche where their unique personalities, talents and values can genuinely shine. At its heart is a real live “Dear Donna,” the mom and yes, “grand” who has nurtured her family over the years…perhaps not with her cooking, but by providing the emotional anchor that supports everything else.
The food alone will justify your visit. Everything I sampled (pimento kim cheese, white anchovy toasts, roasted salmon, half chicken with fries, bone-in pork chop) easily fell into the “best I’ve ever had” category. But to me, the thing that made it extraordinary is the sense of belonging that permeates Dear Donna’s walls and bursts into the surrounding neighborhood.
There’s no pretense…just warmth and comfort. Several of us came on a Friday night to celebrate a friend’s milestone birthday and by the time we left, the entire place had joined us in celebration. Camaraderie spread throughout the place. Strangers started conversations across tables. Slices of Helen Jo’s incomparable birthday cake were shared with every guest compliments of the chefs. Oh what a night!
You may occasionally spot Donna (the restaurant's real-life namesake) on-site, but she does not cook there. But what Dear Donna offered me (and will to you) was a sense of being appreciated and cared for in measure equal to the quality of its food and service. And the chefs will be there, ready to welcome you.
So come as you are. Have a seat. Make yourself comfortable. Have you eaten?
