“My husbund and I enjoyed our stay at the Border house. The room was nice. It had what we wanted- the large jacuzzi tub, and a fireplace. We treated ourselves to the steakhouse and lobster restaurant. The steak and lobster were delicious.
A little footnote this hotel has no elevator it is a 2 story 10 room hotel .”

“Samantha at Cedar Glen Lodge was incredible. She was patient, kind, and resourceful in helping me book lodging for our employees who were doing work in the area. She was incredibly kind, helped me above and beyond, and always responsive. I highly recommend Cedar Glen Lodge - Samantha and their staff are phenomenal!”

“Overall, great 4 day stay. I slept good, wife said she didn't, portable AC unit, room stayed chilled, very loud unit. Which didn't bother me, but did wife, kids were good. Great location, swimming pool was mostly clean, kids loved it. Overall, I would stay again. (Loud highway, less than half a mile).”

“Needed to find new lodging quickly after a bad airbnb experience in Tahoe. Tamarack had one vacancy left and we were happy to take it. This is a small mom and pop place and it's very dog friendly. We had our own cabin and we were very comfortable with plenty of room. They have a variety of different motel style rooms or cabins. Our room was clean although a little bit run down with an older carpet that has seen its share of dogs. However we would definitely stay there again and we loved the rustic lake vibes. This was just on the north side of Tahoe City about 1-2 miles from the busy downtown TC area.”

“Safety: The building entrances are locked at 6pm and we have to bring our room’s key to open.

Food and drinks: Local shops nearby are good. Highly recommend Happy Tier Bakery, about 5mins drive.

Noteworthy details: In front of the building, they have room key-accessible lockers, and it has enough space to store your ski or snowboarding equipment.”

“It was our best vacation on Lake Tahoe. Clean apartment, friendly staff, beautiful location. There is a place to have breakfast, dinner or a snack. And every evening a bear comes looking for food, so please follow all the rules of stay.”

“Not fancy. Not overpriced. Just right. The Crown Hotel is our go-to crash spot in Kings Beach. My wife and I stay here for quick Tahoe getaways, and my countertop crew uses it when we’ve got multi-day jobs nearby. They’ve got a surprising variety of room types, plenty with lake views, and all of them are clean and comfortable. You can walk to a bunch of restaurants (including at least one place that sells kombucha in a mason jar). And the staff? Devora deserves her own five stars. She’s part front desk, part local guide, part wizard. If you want a solid, no-hassle place to stay without blowing your ski pass budget, this is it.”

“Cute little hotel. Rooms were nice, and felt larger than a regular hotel room. It was located walking distance to many restaurants and bars in Tahoe City. I recommend, and I would stay there again.”

“Update: had a very poor experience at the pool. Service was extremely poor yesterday. Also had an issue with a golf member and golf ranger verbally abusing someone in my party.”

“Our stay here reminded us that hospitality is truly about people first. From the very beginning, we met Thristen at check-in, and he was such a kind and genuine person who immediately made us smile and feel welcome.

Our room service was taken care of by Socorro, and everything felt filled with care and love. We truly appreciate your dedication, attention to detail, and the heart you bring to what you do.

Thank you for making our stay so special.”

“If I could give 20 stars I would! Joanna at the front desk was absolutely sooo sweet and attentive. She as well as all the staff we spoke to were the nicest people I have ever encountered. Joanna even gave us a gift to our small children who were not there which was such a nice gesture. Great listener and work ethic. 20/20 experience. Just the customer service alone apart from the beautiful views is the very reason why I plan to come back and stay longer one day. Highly recommend, you won’t be disappointed!!”

“Beautiful hotel location, the rooms are well organized and stocked
There rooms that we have started in have all had a fireplace, no ac in our room but it is not necessary... Maybe in July?

Nice pool and spa, walking around the grounds is a workout”

“It’s pretty quiet at night, which really improves my sleep quality. The kitchen is well-equipped with both stainless steel and plastic utensils. It would be even better if they included some wooden tools. We enjoy cooking here. The living room has a high ceiling, which makes the space feel open and adds a cozy vibe.

The only thing that could be improved is the shower/bathtub — it has grip tape that’s hard to clean and a bit dirty.

The location of the hotel is great — it’s right by the beach and not far from Palisades. We’ll definitely come back here :)”

“The Ritz Carlton Lake Tahoe in Truckee is the definition of what a luxury mountain experience should be. From the moment we pulled up, everything felt elevated without ever feeling forced.

Juan greeted us right away and set the tone. Warm, professional, genuinely welcoming. You could tell he takes pride in what he does. At the front desk, Convent and Angela were incredible. Efficient, polished, and personable all at once. Check in was seamless, and they made us feel like valued guests, not just another reservation.

Our room had an amazing view of the mountains and trees. Waking up to that crisp Tahoe air and looking out over the forest is something you do not forget. It is peaceful in a way that resets you.

In room dining was phenomenal. Not just good for room service. Truly exceptional. Beautiful presentation, perfectly prepared, and delivered right on time. It is rare that in room dining feels like a fine restaurant experience, but this did.

Lunch by the giant Christmas tree and massive stone fireplace was one of my favorite moments of the trip. The setting alone is stunning, especially during the holidays. Stephanie took care of us and was fantastic. Attentive without hovering, knowledgeable, and just genuinely kind. Sitting there with the tree lit up, fire going, and snow outside felt like something out of a magazine.

One of the best parts of staying here is the direct gondola access. The gondola picks you up right at the hotel and takes you down to Northstar Village. We spent time ice skating, dining outdoors with friends, shopping, and just relaxing in the fresh mountain air. Being able to go back and forth so easily makes the whole experience effortless.

The Ritz Carlton Lake Tahoe delivers on every level. Service, setting, food, atmosphere. It is luxury done right, in one of the most beautiful places in California. We will absolutely be back.”

“My wife and I stayed at Rustic Cottages last year and loved it, so we wanted to try their other location this year. We were not disappointed! The cabin we stayed in this year, Cottonwood, was roomier than our previous one, and all of the amenities are the same as Rustic Cottages! They have movies to borrow, board games and yard games for fun, and souvenir coffee mugs. The breakfast is among the best continental breakfasts I have experienced. The location is serene, yet has easy access to all of North Lake Tahoe's attractions and shops. We didn't get a chance to try the pool, but it looked nice and clean. It was definitely popular with other guests. With the friendly staff, quiet and cozy rooms, and wonderful location, we will definitely be back again!”

“This is an honest review of MY stay .

Apon arrival I was greeted by the host . Very warm and welcoming. Told me to check the room out before I got charged. To me the room itself is overall just fine. A bed. A tv. A table. Bathroom ect. Everything one needs for a stay.

The rate is very durable. Especially in these times .

Sleep is very important to me and I got two lights of good sleep. Curtains block out most lights and the lights outside are not those terrible LED lights most hotels have that light up your room like a night out in Reno.

A couple things weren't To my liking.
The bathroom could use some work. The shower head fell off while spraying crazy water 💦 temperatures all over ! But I took a bath instead .

The outlets where a bit sketchy and couldn't hold my charger without falling out.

The door to the room is a workout just to Open it.

Close to restaurants, the lake, and trails.

Overall the pros outweigh the cons.

I would consider this place again if I find myself in North Tahoe again.”
