“The store has been closed for a month now and am not sure if it's getting sold. I really enjoyed John and his wife.Super friendly and liked having one open in my area. “Sun Ray has been my go to store for almost 2 decades. Up until about a year and a half ago, I have always lived within about 2 maybe three blocks from Sun Ray. The store has just recently changed ownership. I have not met the new owner. The day staff are new. The one constant tho is my friend Paul is still holding down the evening shift. I'm pretty sure he has been there since day one, a true grass roots employee. Since I do not live in the Waterloo Village anymore I don't frequent the store nearly as much as in the past. The one thing that I do make sure of tho is, in the evenings when I'm up in the Village is I make a point if going in get a coffee and the Pro-Line list and chew the fat with Paul. He makes Sun Ray Variety the kind of neighborhood convenience store that you want to go into, friendly, knowledgeable about the inventory, type of person that makes you smile and laugh. So if your down around the Village in the evening and need something from the store stop in say hi. He makes it feel like how going to your neighborhood store use to be like when the world wasn't so messed up like it is today. Least that's how I see it.”

“Pretty good gas station. There is a variety of products there and they always have a contest that is going on. It is a bit outdated, and they still rent movies. There are missing some of my favorite products and produce.”
“Super convenient spot. A selection of groceries like eggs, butter, milk, fruits and veg, and household goods. Serve hot coffee for cheap. Store clerks are always really friendly and are open until late. Debit or cash (credit has a fee) and they can provide cash back which is great because the nearest ATM is further toward the centre of uptown. This is a go-to for many living in the area.”
“Convenient location on Somerset St, near the main arterial to the SJ Regional Hospital hence it sees a lot of traffic. I've always had good experiences here; Staff are quick and courteous and store is kept clean. M&M Foods on site and Shell gas and inside, pretty much everything and anything you'd want. Air Miles too.”
