“We have eaten there for 15 years. It is a highlight of our annual trip to NH. It is lovely, good food, great service. I could go on. It has an intimate feelingina gorgeous building. I hope a new owner continues the inn and restaurant into the future and appreciates how special the place is. We wish the current owners well in their future endeavors.”

“They have gluten free fish & chips on the menu which is the reason we went on July 3, 2025. Fantastic food, everyone was happy with what they ordered. Service was friendly and great. The place is very comfortable and overlooks the river out back - beautiful and laid back.”

“This was my first trip to New Hampshire and the Horse and Hound inn was just beautiful. We had a wedding party staying at the Inn and it was wonderful to be able to spend time with everybody under the same roof. The kitchen is a commercial size kitchen And there is also a bar with tables. There is so much room in the house to mingle. The backyard was lovely for the children to play. And if you choose to have your wedding ceremony there the yard is also beautiful for that. I have one suggestion though if you have small children the cars fly by the front of the inn. There is not a lot of traffic but when they come by they fly. So keep them close to you. And you be careful as well.”

“Absolutely beautiful place! The room was cute and quiet, the property itself is gorgeous and each room has chairs to lounge in outside. Michelle was the most wonderful host, she gave me recommendations for restaurants and hiking, and a made to order breakfast each morning! I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a quiet getaway, I for one will be back again!”

“Excellent location and wonderful views during Oct foliage. In the evenings we spend time near the fireplace and enjoyed pub downstairs with a live music. We did the Lincoln - Conway scenic drive and watched the planeurs taking off in front of the inn. I highly recommend the Beal House for dinners as well.”

“Nice staff, gorgeous views, affordable compared to other dog friendly places in the area, nice to walk to the brewery, 1 star off because the mattresses were very worn in/sloped. Lots of play space and activities for dogs and kids”

“Traveling through the White Mountains during the "foliage" period, we stayed overnight at this hotel a little away from the busiest routes. An uphill road lined with rare houses leads to the hotel. The external impact is quite spectacular. A large historic wooden house, typical of the area. The interiors take you back in time with their retro charm and with a few less comforts. Bathroom sacrificed. Cleanliness could be improved. Overall, however, we especially appreciated the surrounding environment. Possibility to have a quick dinner on site. Good quality/price ratio given the period chosen for the stay”

“Nice hotel. Friendly staff. Clean. Average breakfast. The yogurt machine was a nice surprise. No hand towels or washcloths in the room but a trip to the front desk fixed that. Clean and quiet. Mountain view room. Quite a ways to nearest restaurant.”
