Prices are average. I typically only buy sale items. Occasionally the prices are incorrect too. You have to be a hawk and take pictures of shelf price tag.
My biggest concern is how often I buy produce and it’s spoiled or rotten. It happens every month. I try my hardest to inspect the food before I purchase it but somehow I keep getting the rotten stuff.”

“Excellent customer service! When my first shipment was delivered I noticed that the produce wasn’t fresh enough. This was totally on the shipping company as they didn’t deliver the produce in a timely manner. It was supposed to be “2 day shipping” but unfortunately it took them 5 days to deliver. Upon contacting Basil Grocery, they immediately sent me the same produce with no charge. Unfortunately, the shipment company failed to deliver the produce in a timely manner again. I contacted Basil Grocery and explained them the issue. This time, they used a different company to ship the produce with no extra charge. They took full responsibility to ensure customer satisfaction. They were very quick to respond. I received my produce (Erik / plums) nice and fresh. I highly recommend Basil Grocery.”
“My opinion. I love clean. When I walk in the store and look at the floors I look at everything. If it's not clean, I'm out the door faster than I even came in. kings was clean ,pricing for the area and food competitive. Maybe a bit high. “We used to have our parties catered by this place because their food tastes most like my Mom's. Super delicious and reasonably priced. The service was typical Filipino and I'm used to that. If you're ever in the area, get some food. It's good!”
“Update 2024 - MUCH BETTER!
Seems since changing to Green's they have all new workers -- FRIENDLY ONES! Great job on the upgrade. My husband and I shopped comfortably yesterday and were able to look around effortlessly. The store is small but if you go on an "off" day, you can find everything. They have Gopals seaweed snacks -- my favorites, frozen vegan bagels without sugar or gluten (all natural), and many other unique goodies you can't find elsewhere. Both the new manager and the cashier were VERY NICE. My only advice, to the workers, if someone is trying to look at something, please move, don't keep stocking -- that should be a no-brainer. Do not make the same dumb mistakes Whole Foods does. Always be polite.

It makes no sense why a grocery store would make it mandatory for customers to wear latex gloves (when some people are allergic), yet they do not have wipes to clean the carts, nor do the workers practice social distancing towards the customers. It's a scary place to shop and I don't feel comfortable shopping there. I was there today and Rachel and Heather were HORRIBLE towards me. Rachel got very close to me to scold me for not putting on the gloves yelling "THIS IS STORE POLICY" ... Well, let me ask you, what would happen if I DID put on the gloves and my hands swelled up -- who would pay for my hospital bill? DEAN? I don't think so! Rachel and Heather should both be ashamed of themselves. I will never go to this store again! I waled out without buying anything, after a 25 minute ride!”
“If you live around this ShopRite location, you gotta try the hot &sour soups inside this ShopRite! It's considered the best hot &sour soup in NJ! We have been eating hot & sour soup here and there, far and close, but this is the best soup you can get! We would come to this ShopRite and buy only one thing, that's their soup from their food court! I can't say how good other cooked food is, but you must try this hot & sour soup! You will agree with me after you try it!”
“Truly a step back in time. The whole idea of small-town America is perfectly encapsulated in places such as adorable Califon in rural Hunterdon County, New Jersey, which has the unique distinction of being the physical inspiration behind the setting of the 1946 Christmas classic, “It’s a wonderful life”. In the heart of Califon is Rambo’s, a truly vintage general store, delicatessen, and butcher shop. I’m not sure exactly how old it is, probably at least as old as my paternal grandfather, who would be 98 today. I’ve tried their 2 most popular sandwiches, the pastrami on rye with Swiss and the Italian hoagie, both were delicious. I bought some of their hand cut lamb loin chops, they turned out excellent with a jerk spice rub they sell. I’m very much looking forward to trying out their house made Italian sausage I got stored in the freezer. The store staff and managers/owners are very kind and welcoming and I am happy to support an awesome and storied local small business. I’m definitely planning on coming back here on a semi-routinely manner, perhaps even on a biking trip on the nearby Columbia trail in the future.”

They used to be much better. The store was sold to Albertsons/ACME. The staffing is much lower now and is more if a self service model.”

“We've gotten takeout from Desi Chef a few times and are absolutely amazed at the flavors and spice levels. We ordered online and the food was always ready when promised, within a minute or two. The pakura batter is a bit thicker than we are used to, but not in a bad way, it has a warm feeling that feels like a hug. The Tikka masala is absolutely on par and just spicy enough to get the average white guy a little sniffly. While the store itself might be a little simple from the outside, everything inside is what counts. The warm hug of amazing cuisine and the endless supply of Indian groceries and spices make an great addition to the variety of cultures Somerville's food scene offers. Please try this place if you like Indian cuisine. Please try this place if you like food. You won't be disappointed. It's a place that definitely belongs on a Food network or travel show.”
