“IN 2021....The gentleman who ran the store was very informative and knew all kinds of information about mostly all the products.I enjoyed my visit and my products that I purchased and will be returning as soon as my seamoss and Shea Butter supply gets low.UPDATE FOR 2024***Just recently visited after a VERY LONG time away and I must say that the NEW LOCATION is even better!!It's so inviting and there are soooo many things to look at as soon as you step in the door.My favorite host ( he doesn't feel like a salesman) was still running the store. I enjoyed my talks with him while shopping. I tried a NEW PRODUCT and purchased sea moss. Go visit them. It's wonderful”

“Good evening Google Family. This is my very first time visiting Harriet's Bookshop. I visited to promote Yolanda's children's book, Brown like Me. Miss Jeannine Cook is the owner/CEO of Harriet's bookshop. I had previously contacted Miss Cook through email. I decided to go in person to visit the bookstore and possibly meet Miss Cook. Harriet's Bookshop is named for Harriet Tubman. It is a beautiful place with plenty of books and many books by black authors. I loved the setup of the place. They have a long table and chairs and candles. I love the decor and ambience of the place. A beautiful place to hold a book signing. I also loved that they have a coffee/tea setup in the bookshop. It is in the process of being opened. Hoping that it will be open in time for Yolanda's book signing. It was great to meet Miss Cook and she also has a book that she wrote and it is available for sale in the bookshop. The book is called It's Me they Follow by Jeannine A. Cook. I enjoyed my experience here in the bookshop, networking and talking with Miss Cook. I am truly looking forward to Yolanda's book signing here. It will be a winner!!! Also Yolanda's book, Brown like Me is currently on the bookstore shelf, hardback and paperback. $15.00 for paperback and $20.00 for the hardback. God is Good!!! Workout, be healthy, fit and Fabulous especially for people over fifty years of age.”

“A nice place to sit down and read a book and enjoy a Starbucks coffee with a croissant or one of the many choices of cakes and pastries. Some books are a little pricey but they have good sales from time to time”

“One of the jewels of Philadelphia. Doesn't matter what you're looking for you gotta go. Vinyl? Check. Cookbooks? Of course. Fiction? Duh. Poetry? Like 15 percent of the store! I love going to Molly's. I wish I could go write there and let the magic live in me.”

“I was thrilled to find an independent bookstore without having to go to Philly. I've been there several times and each time I've gotten a few books that turned out to be excellent, by authors i wasn't familiar with. The staff is friendly and not intrusive- they don't interrupt my quiet perusing, but are available if needed.”

“Great experience my first time in this particular Barnes and noble. Went on the 4th of July so wasn’t busy. An employee helped us find one particular book but I’d have to say we had trouble finding variety in the spiritual section. Mostly main stream religions but not much on African or Latin American based religions. Tell me more about what my Afro & latin ancestors were praying about? Plenty of parking and seems like a place I could relax with a coffee And read for a bit”

“Great customer service--from halfway across the country! They were hosting an author event, and the staff went the extra mile to ship me a book because I couldn't make it in person. I had a great experience and would buy from them again.”

“My son loves reading and it's nice to be able to read a few pages to make sure he likes something before we buy it. On our last visit he really thought he wanted a book then realized he didn't like it. He found a completely different book I never would have thought to get him and fell in love with it!”

“If you love new and used books. Then this is the place to be. I spent $8.09 for a used hardcover copy of Dodsworth published in 1926. Plus a $1.00 donation to the cause. The staff here is awesome.I have such a high regard for used books. Sometimes just settling in with a cup of tea and some sunshine. To read a great story. Being transported to the author's vision. There is nothing like it.You have to see this store. They also have clothing items for sale.I highly recommend this store.”

“If you (wisely) plan to check out Partners an Son I recommend that you a) have gotten a good night's rest b) have a full belly c) are adequately caffeinated d) have sufficient funds e) have a friend on standby who can talk you out of spending your mortgage/rent money.

Seriously, though. This is probably the best indie comic store I have ever been to in my ancient, well-traveled life. The store is brimming with a wonderfully curated array of indie comics, graphic novels, zines, and art. Can't recommend enough.”

“Fantastic indie bookstore in the cutest neighborhood in Philadelphia. As a fellow bookstore owner (Huxley & Hiro in Wilmington, DE), my rep Jason Rice recommended that I come check out Head House Books, and I'm glad I did. Beautiful displays and a great use of the bookstore space. They also carry a good selection of greeting cards, lots of children's books, and various gift items. Highly recommended!!”

“Tree House Books is a *free* bookstore - but so much more as well. The books are free for the taking, but I'd hope that you'd leave a donation if you can.If you have books you'd like to donate for other readers to take up, keep this place in mind. That's how I found it - looking for a place to donate gently used books. I assumed (incorrectly) that they only needed children's and YA titles for the many kids involved in their out of school program. But in fact they also have books for adults. A true literacy center. So I'll be back with the many non-kid books I'm parting with.I wasn't taking on more books during my visit, I was getting rid of them. But glancing at the adult section shelves, I saw several of my favorite books there. The staff are friendly and welcoming. And after dropping off a box of kids' books, I received within 24 hours an email thank you, which noted the number of books I had given and suggested an estimated value per book - in case I might need some documentation for a tax deduction. That's wasn't my motivation, but it speaks well for the organization that they attend to thanking donors.Stopping in on a weekday afternoon, I found ample street parking available, and had a spot right in front of the store. Will be back!”

“Going back to school using my VA GI Bill. This is the best decision I made in a while and will benefit me for the rest of my life. If you're a veteran and have your school loan available take advantage of it. It's a super easy process. Go Army”

“A good small Islamic store, with a diverse amount of items. I found a nice kufi for myself and a one piece hijab for my wife, but if I spent more time there I am sure I would of purchased alot more, insha'Allah. They have a large amount of thobes, niqabs, hijabs, Islamic books and other Islamic clothing (including shirts). I will come here again, insha'Allah upon my next visit to Camden.”

“love this school! they help a lot financially. don't need sat/act scores to get in. give generous grants if you need it. offer free counseling as well. professors care about you. tutoring is also free. on campus jobs are good and work with your hours. housing is decent, maintenance employees come quickly if there's a problem. may not need to pay for parking if living on campus. only bad feature is the food, food court is barely open and there's not many options.”

“I had a wonderful experience buying an 120 year old book from PRBM! The book I wanted was being sold by Barnes & Noble for $30 but was in pretty poor condition with lots of water damage. I was able to find it being sold by PRBM for $35 in such perfect condition and they even offered me free shipping! The buying experience was so easy. Everyone I talked to from email to phone call, were extremely nice, friendly, and professional. With the book, they included a little slip with information about the books owner history and where it's been. So awesome! I will definitely be purchasing from them again.”
