“I was finally able to visit La Bodega. My family of 7 took the trip down from Westchester, NY, for dinner. The ambience was warm, welcoming, and beautiful! We each got different meats along with rice, beans and maduros- the food did not disappoint! The service was prompt and friendly- we felt right at home. Absolutely retuning.”
“This place is such a gem in Communipaw. They don’t advertise their sandwiches as much as they should though!
If you’re getting off the light rail station at Liberty State park you’d be doing yourself a disservice to miss out on these fire Sammies. The Calabrian salsa they use as a spread should be jarred up and sold at scale”
“I wanna say for my first time looking where they make the best choppcheez in nj gotta say this deli top all stores 10 outta 10 best choppcheez ever defeneliy recommend it”
“Vanhook is amazing. I’ve been coming here for years. If you’re a Brie person you have to try their Brie fermier. Claire is absolutely amazing. If you want a suggestion for an outstanding charcuterie board, she’s your gal.”
“Best spot for produce and groceries in all of downtown Jersey City. I have never been disappointed with their avocado selection (or any of the produce) for taco Tuesday (or any day)! Not to mention this is a family owned and operated business, so the level of service and care is always there. I have been coming here for 9 years and can only say great things about this market! ❤️”

“I found excellent food items that I couldn’t find anywhere else. Irish bangers, venison, lamb, bison, sticky toffee pudding; just to name a few! I highly recommend it! It is a bit pricey though.”
“I got an amazing chopped cheese sandwich here, the first I ever had and did not disappoint at all. Also got to play a fun game while I waited. Went back a second time and met the friendliest cat ever, Jersey! Definitely worth stopping by and getting some incredible food!
Update: consistently good, and the cheesesteak is also amazing! Always a great experience!”
“A great place that offers a variety of QUALITY products, ethnic choices and fresh meats and seafood. Can’t beat the convenience. Some prices are higher than larger markets but others are not and some are sharper and fresher than Whole Foods or Shop Rite. Very well run and membership is great with a $20 reward for every $400 spent.”
“Best store in Jersey City, NJ... The cleanest!!! Everyone is nice and respectful... The son should have been discovered by a modeling agency, and bro I hope that happens for you! So everyone go check it out.”
“I had a great experience at this grocery store! The store was clean, well-organized, and had a wide selection of products. The staff were friendly and helpful, making my shopping trip quick and pleasant. I’ll definitely be coming back!”
“This was my go to spot in the neighborhood before moving. The staff is very kind, the produce selection is very large, and I was always happy to find a deal in the dairy and frozen section. Check out the local farms that are represented in the meats section, I used to get chicken that was regeneratively farmed locally and it was the same price as Purdue. Highly recommend this spot. Groceries are expensive much like everything else in the world right now but Key Foods was always the best spot for organic and traditional groceries for over two years.”

“Clean, well-organized store with a wide variety of fresh produce, quality meats, and everyday essentials. Staff are helpful and friendly, and checkout is quick. Prices are fair, and shelves are always well-stocked. A pleasure to shop here every time! Just have the security guy stand to the side and not stare too much at everyone lol”
“Best meat plans sooooo fresh and worth the money. Their food, Donià, I don't know her name but out of respect in Spanish, is the best cook like my grandma.”
“The fact that it has parking lot makes it one of our top choices and there is a park in it’s vicinity if you have a dog or you want to just spend some time with your kid after your shopping though it’s a bit pricey.”
“Pros: The Cheesesteak sandwiches are delicious. Has the home essentials, prices are not top over the top for the location. Friendly customer service. Cons: Crowded at times, isle are tight, better call in advance for cooked meal depending on the time of the day.”
“Parking is a big PLUS for any shopping area or center so a parking lot for patrons is an "unnerving" and relaxing plus a few feet away. Street parking is always promising on the cross streets or main street West Side Avenue. They has IRISH SEA MOSS from the fresh Jamaican waters, confirmed twice, which is food pointed out to me so I pay with my FOOD STAMPS??✌️!!!”
“Great selection, and my Jams, Chef Rene Hewitt's Jams can be purchased at Extra. This store has a big selection of everything, especially their fresh and sprayed produce.”
“I went in and was greeted by a nice manager, Service I would rate it a 4.5 . They were very polite and friendly, and everything was fairly cheap. I would recommend coming here if you are nearby.”
“I shop here at least one a week for fruits and vegetables, freshly made breads and organ meats. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. The shopping area is also convenient and safe w parking. Visit the Washington Square park steps away.”
“I’ve been going to this store since 1987, back then ıt was a dash in, dash out visit. There was a string of attacks on men of Indian descent, some brutal, some deadly, in this area (NJ/NY/PA); fear breeds ignorance of the unknown; and shopping was fearful at that time. But, Patel’s Cash & Carry stayed thorough ıt all, and the dash in and dash out became a 30+ year trip of slowly browsing to standing, to talking, to getting what I needed to cook my husband’s foods from Ethiopia, since a lot of what he ate resembled Indian cuisine. Although the times have changed, and the store has grown in size, color, light, presentation, employees, product availability, (we no longer see the owner, who would greet/help us even on crowed weekends), the ambience is the same. And I still go in for the lentils, spices, ginger and garlic paste, and treats that now line the shelves and cold sections that weren’t there decades ago. So, to all those Indian men, of Indian ancestry, especially the Patels, thanks for staying, even when it didn’t seem worth it, for you were instrumental in the happiness of my family, and me, as a Black American, at our dinner table. You helped me raise my sons to be men, for your products allowed me the opportunity to cook the foods that define their unique heritage here in America. Sorry, I normally don’t write this long, but it has to be said.”
“Came in on a Saturday afternoon around 12:30 and the place is clean well stocked, prices are decent. The deli in the back made a bomb hero, but it could have been a dollar or 2 cheaper, but it was good, though. Fresh fruits and veggies”
“Bangladeshi store in New Jersey! Got halal full chickens and beef from here. They have crockeries from BD, the Kiam ones, deshi paratas and guess what, deshi “jharu”s too!”
“The store is okay overall, everything is organized and it has a good amount of stuff for a corner store. If you need quick snacks they should be easy to find here. But the food they serve, is great!”
“Supremo Food Market on Palisade Ave in Jersey City has just about everything you need to complete your dinner recipe. I go there simetimes because the produce is automatically sprayef often, and the poultry department is open so you can see the butchers wirking. They also have a fresh fish department, but many years ago, they had a better variety of fresh fish selections.
Overall, I give them an 8.5, but go and see for yourself.”
“I absolutely love coming to the supermarket and I go pretty much daily during the week since I work in the area. Sameh from the Deli department is extremely kind, friendly, professional, and she's always smiling.”
“Very good grocery store. Helpful staff who help the Uber, insta cart , quickly orders and makes it easier for us to deliver quickly on time. Highly recommend All. :-)”
