“Hoboken General store is a total hidden gem. It has that authentic old-school neighborhood vibe that’s hard to find among all the big chains. The staff is incredibly welcoming and they really make an effort to get to know their regulars. Their bagels are solid and the overall atmosphere is cozy and unpretentious-just a heads up that it can get busy during peak morning hours and lunchtime so give yourself a few extra minutes if you’re a Latino like myself you’ll feel right at home like mama made you your favorite home cooked meal. I’ve been coming here Since I moved to Hoboken a few years ago, it’s my go to spot to feel at home.”

I was thrilled to see that he carried my favorite Spanish white, Albariño, which isn’t always easy to find, especially in smaller wine stores. Not only does he carry it, but there’s always a chilled bottle should I come in!
Mike is a good guy, a good neighbor and an active member of our community. I’ve witnessed various acts of kindness to his neighbors, going far above and beyond what the average shop owner would do. I will continue to frequent his shop over the larger chains or supermarkets. I think it’s important to shop local, and when the local shop has prices and selection, often better than the big box it’s a no brainer to do so.”
“A staple on 3rd and Jackson Street in Hoboken,Nj along with the mini mall from the projects. They make great hero sandwiches and it come with a can soda for only $6.50 you can't beat that. You can pay cable and gas bill there as well. They make great breakfast sandwiches,coffee,hot chocolate fresh rolls and its a little grocery store so you can get odds and ends. The people there are friendly.”

“Generally well stocked store. Sometimes the sale and advertised items run low, or are late to be delivered. Fish department has the basics. Butchers are nice and helpful. Needs to be renovated in the next 10 years.”

“the place is OK, i mean you pay for proximity and covenience and i dont mind that, but i didnt like that the prices were not visible for all products as i needed to buy something but also didnt have cash and needed to get to the 10$ card threshold. Ended up buying a really nasty nut mix which was 'expiring in 2023' but i guess that was a joke. Other than that, they do have an OK range of products.”

“I came into the store today in need of some assistance and Donna was an absolute angel! She escorted me to where I needed to go, and was extra accommodating of me. I’m injured, and she made sure other people were aware of me and made a path. It’s often a challenge getting around on crutches, and she made it seamless and enjoyable, always with a smile! “If you want liquor on a Tuesday night for instance at 230am. Go here. Idk how he pulls it off in this cookie cutter yuppy town, but he does. BUT. Be prepared to spend lol supply and demand at its finest. Only place open and selling alcohol on this side of the pond”
