“Produce is always fresh, so many unique finds and great prices! The store is very small so when it’s busy, it can get feel very overcrowded. That’s the only downside but the staff here are always so friendly and the store is always clean and organized. This is hands down my favorite store for groceries!”
“Now THIS is a grocery store! We have 3 stores in town, Stop and Shop which is such an awful place it is literally "the bad part of town" now and the police blotter backs that up. Once in awhile Shoprite is ok for the big sales on big name products, but their services are terrible and nothing is made fresh in store. PQM has it all though. Reasonable prices, locally owned and operated, a world-class catering service and the friendliest staff and management of any business around! If you have any issues, whether you get assistance from a high school part time worker or the owner himself (yes, you will actually see top management and owners working here), you will receive their care and attention as if you were one of the family. Keep up the great work!”

“The store is decent and I always enjoyed shopping here up until today. The black lady cashier who was there on 6/16/24 between 2-2:30pm is a complete and utter racist and she was treating customers differently based on their skin color. Unless you were also black (the woman in front of me was and boy was she treated a whole lot differently than me and the Muslim family behind me) you didn’t get a proper greeting let alone spoken to with the any respect at all. Not even a simple “have a nice day”. Completely unacceptable! I will be contacting corporate first thing tomorrow morning to file a complaint!”
“A pretty good ShopRite overall. They have a relatively consistent stock of food. However, they sometimes are missing certain essentials. For instance, they had no raspberries during my most recent visit. They have a plethora of self checkout kiosks, which makes checking out quick and easy. Overall, would recommend.”

I like the selection of products from different countries that you can't find in traditional supermarkets.

“Excellent customer service! When my first shipment was delivered I noticed that the produce wasn’t fresh enough. This was totally on the shipping company as they didn’t deliver the produce in a timely manner. It was supposed to be “2 day shipping” but unfortunately it took them 5 days to deliver. Upon contacting Basil Grocery, they immediately sent me the same produce with no charge. Unfortunately, the shipment company failed to deliver the produce in a timely manner again. I contacted Basil Grocery and explained them the issue. This time, they used a different company to ship the produce with no extra charge. They took full responsibility to ensure customer satisfaction. They were very quick to respond. I received my produce (Erik / plums) nice and fresh. I highly recommend Basil Grocery.”

Prices are average. I typically only buy sale items. Occasionally the prices are incorrect too. You have to be a hawk and take pictures of shelf price tag.
My biggest concern is how often I buy produce and it’s spoiled or rotten. It happens every month. I try my hardest to inspect the food before I purchase it but somehow I keep getting the rotten stuff.”

“Simple delicious food! My son and I tried the adobo chicken, sausage and pork skewers. All excellent but beware those little sausages are addicting.... Warm, inviting husband and wife provide great service. Mostly a takeout but there are a few tables to dine in. No frills but delicious food.”

“Glad to have healthier options, but their prices, like everywhere else are ridiculous. Way too expensive. A lot of good variety choices, some reasonable, most are not though. The people are nice, the staff is attentive, and I do come when I'm sick to get health supplies. But I just hope they decide to put customers first and drop their prices to a more reasonable amount. Getting healthy shouldn't be pricing people out.”

“Staten Island BJ’S is 100% better than Brooklyn, special Bay Ridge BJ’S location, easy to park, plenty of shopping carts, no crazy lines! Just missed no BJ’S Gas available, otherwise will be 5 star.”

“Great selection of close out deals. They have an insiders card which gives great discounts. It is easy to miss but is in part of the old Walmart space near Best Buy off route 1. The location does close a bit early at 7.”
