“I needed an urgent repair on my bike and couldn’t find a shop in the area that would be open around my availability hours or would take my bike. I was hoping it would be a quick repair that turned into a massive job. The guys took their time to find an issue (turned out there was a hole in the brake cable) and made sure my bike was functioning properly before allowing me to bring it home. Funny thing is I had my bike fully serviced less than a month ago at a well known bike shop and they weren’t able to spot an issue. The staff was super nice to me and I appreciate their help!”
“The best bike shop in the neighborhood! They are right off the green way so I’ve dropped off my bike several times on my way home after a long ride and I’m need of replacing breaks pads, disc rims etc. If you’re on the way to empire trail and need a fix it’s along the way. They are always helpful and super easy to talk to.”

“Robin was great in explaining to me exactly what the potential bike repairs were for and all the options if I wanted to upgrade. The repairs were done in an hour and it looks as good as new. I will definitely come here again!
Edited to add:
I just went to see Robin again about bike that needs a lot of repairs. He was extremely detailed in explaining to me exactly what was wrong and the pros/cons in buying a new bike or repairing the old one. It's such a good feeling to know that I have a reliable neighborhood bike store!”
“After having my bike sit out for about a year in my yard due to a knee injury, it really needed to get revived. The chains were rusted, cables were shot (among many other issues) but I got my bike back like brand new after work done by Buzz and I couldn't believe how smooth it felt on the ride home. I'm so stoked and can't wait to continue my bike journey. Thanks Bike Hub!!!”
“Amazing shop! I ordered the Wahoo bundle online and was notified that the v2 had some problems so I was upgraded to the v3. I did have to wait a bit longer than I initially expected, but the package arrived quickly when it shipped. Will definitely stop by if I'm ever in NY.”
“Been coming here for years and let me tell you! None of these bike shops will ever compare to Dixon’s customer service, turn around time & sturdiest repairs in NYC. I’m skeptical about most shops, I walk in here and I know I will be taken care of. It’s family runned, black-owned and has the coolest bike facility I’ve ever witnessed. Also the guy will educate you and answer your questions if need be. Top shop, no doubt. Go show them full on love and support.”
“Quinn was an absolute legend. Thorough, helpful, informative. Felt like he balanced needed replacements/services with suggested improvements/products well without feeling like he was upselling or pushing an agenda. Great experience and bike is now riding like new. Also helped me with a couple bike fit items and was very patient and again helpful. Will be back.”
“The Owner has great taste in beer.
Soon to see and hear some great stuff from out of his creativity.
He also spare me a tube FREE.
5-Star review for his workshop.
I Ride Bikes All Day Long.
So, this is my Go-To Shop to drop by and check on his inventory.”
“Bicycle Roots is one of those special shops where they aren’t interested in shallow transactional exchanges but instead invest themselves in building a deep relationship with you and your experience riding your bicycle. I’ve worked with the shop on two custom builds: my beloved Ritchey Outback gravel bike and my sturdy Surly Long Haul Trucker. In both cases I was struck not only by the quality and meticulousness of the craft they poured into the build, but also by the patient communication they put into making sure I understood every key decision they were making, giving me context to help me steer things in a different direction when I was confused, and helping me have peace of mind that the choices we landed on were choices that would serve me for years of seeking joy on my bike. This kind of deep personal involvement, in which the mechanics are not only knowledgeable, but eager to share their knowledge with you in a generous and empowering way is all too rare in bike shops. It takes a level of humility and kindness one is lucky to come across in one’s friends, not to mention a commercial relationship. I feel lucky to count the staff at Bicycle Roots as my friends, and I hope that if you’re reading this, you take the time to invest as deeply in the shop as I have done. They will reciprocate every ounce of investment, and you’ll come out of it not only with a bike you can depend on for years to come, but a relationship of which you can say the same thing.”
“Came in looking for a simple tune up and left with my bike feeing brand new. Customer service is excellent. Flor worked on mine and was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. Affordable prices and great communication. Will be returning!”
“Today it was my first time for changing my kickstand, they are good and fast worker, price also affordable, it wont be last ,i will stop by for e bike needs something”
“Can't recommend this place enough. Riding for 10+ years, never got a fit. Got a fit done with Greg and learned a ton as we played around with my setup on their custom fit machine/tech. Fit had amazing results on performance and comfort.
I also asked for recommendations to upgrade my current ride or for a new bike entirely, and Greg came back with a range of options across groupsets, wheelsets, and new rides.
Fast forward a few months, I got all the upgrades recommended for my existing ride and it's a totally different bike. Super comfy, fast and responsive. Can't ask for more. They even recommended a great (my new favorite) bike shop in the area, Tuned, to help do the install.
Overall 10/10 experience cant recommend these guys enough. If you are thinking about working with Acme, do it. You won't regret it!”

“Made minor adjustments to the stem/handlebars accordingly, lubed the chain, and inflated tires all for a fair price. Didn’t try to upsell or comment on anything other than what I asked for, which I appreciated. Will return”
“Craig is extremely knowledgeable and nudged me (no pressure to sell) to the best option for me even though it wasn't one of the store's bikes.
I'm *extremely* happy with the seat and pedals he recommended to upgrade on it, as well as a suspension seatpost I got a few years back.
Man, I should've upgraded my bike years ago.”
“I recently bought my first new bike in many years from what used to be Danny's, but was recently purchased by Trek. The sales staff, who have stayed on through the transition, were extremely helpful in recommending a bike and upgraded components that meet my needs. My new bike feels great.”
“They got me back on the road when my sealant dried up and my rear tire flatted out, luckily half mile from them. They sold me a new sealant bottle and hooked me up with the tools to add it.”
“Cannot say enough positive things about this place! On a new road bike and my first ride in 10 years, had an unfortunate clip in SNAFU by the bridge that damaged my bike and made it unrideable. Thankfully I was within walking distance of the shop and within an hour it was completely fixed, along with a set of pedals that were a better match for my shoes/bike. I rode about 30 miles after without a hitch and the team was kind and friendly the entire time.”

“Mr C cycles, it doesn’t get better than the this ! Friendly mechanics , explained everything, did excellent work at a reasonable price . I was going to MR C’s on and off because it’s not as convenient as some of the other shops near me . But the last 2 visits convinced me it’s worth the effort to haul my bike here .”
“After a lot of support from the team at Propel, I have started riding my Tern GSD in Hawaii. It took a while, but it is worth it! I purchased two Gazelle bikes from Propel a few years ago and was impressed with the customer service. This time was no different. Thanks to everyone in Brooklyn who helped pack and ship the bike, not a scratch! The long distance made it hard, but Jon was always responsive and helpful. Thanks again!”
“They spent time up front really figuring out what was going on with my road bike instead of just jumping straight into a fix, which I appreciated. Once they diagnosed the issue, they got the new part installed and had everything running smoothly again. They were also great about keeping me in the loop with updates along the way, so I always knew what was happening. Overall, really solid service and easy to work with.
I've been to a few shops in the area and this is by far the best.”
“Mel and the bike shop have been around a long time. Always professional service, quick turn around time, very knowledgable and patient to answer all my questions. Highly recommend visiting the shop.”
“Seriously one of the best service I’ve received. Beanie fool hit me with an extra lube service after. Definitely recommend shoutout them all they all took a turn.”

“I recently had the pleasure of visiting Green Path Electric Bikes, for the 3rd time/ 3rd E-bike, and I must say, my experience exceeded all expectations. From the moment I stepped through the door, Damon's exceptional service always stands out. He greeted me warmly and took the time to understand my needs. Damon's expertise was evident as he guided me through their impressive selection of electric bikes.Upon learning that I was looking for a family cargo electric bike, Damon recommended the perfect model that met all my requirements. His attention to detail and genuine interest in finding the best fit for me and my family were truly appreciated.Furthermore, I had the pleasure of interacting with Keyshaun, who also provided excellent assistance during my visit. Together, Damon and Keyshaun made the entire process seamless and enjoyable.Overall, I highly recommend Green Path Electric Bikes to anyone in search of high-quality electric bikes and outstanding customer service. Thanks to Damon and Keyshaun, I left feeling confident and excited about my purchase.”
“To be honest my girlfriend and I just needed a throwaway wheel to make a prop and the owner / mechanic there was super nice and looked through a bunch of wheels in the shop to find us a busted one that we could take. Also 2 v. cute cats hanging around.”
“Ordered the Bruzer on sale over Christmas. Couldn’t be happier. Just wanted a simple easy to use commuter that I can ride with flats on it. The pinion is way smoother than my Rohloff hub in my old bike was that I had and this bike feels way lighter and better balanced.
I added some new Surly bars, my Brooks saddle, some Ergon grips, and my bags. I also added some tubeless tires. It’s such a nice quiet ride that is super fast and comfortable.”
“This is the best bike shop. Very reasonable prices, they don't try to upsell you or rip you off at all, like other experiences I've had. Always do a great job, quickly too. This is my go-to.”
“(Translated by Google) They can go on to repair their electric scotters, the price is very affordable compared to other places, they have new very cheap electric scooters.(Original)Pueden pasar a reparar sus scotter eléctricos realmente el precio es muy accesible a comparación de otros locales tienen nuevos scooter eléctricos muy baratos”
“NYC Velo was founded by OG bike messengers. There’s a great selection of bikes and great gear specifically curated for the NYC performance rider, whether s/he’s running Campagnolo or crap.”
“I went in today to this bike shop instead of the one on 32nd street near Dominos based on reviews alone. The owners were super nice!! My son’s bike needed the chain put back, something was wrong with the rear tire and the break. The tires needed air, Jorge had me in there for less than 10 minutes. Helen is really nice too!! Definitely will be going back and their prices are pretty damn good!!”
