“What an overwhelming kinda unique store. They have sooo much food, packed into this space. The amount of canned and jar food is impressive, and all of it is nothing that you would see in the normal grocery store, everything here is a European flare. They have a huge fresh cheese and meat counter as well as packaged products too. Their beer selection is probably the most diverse I’ve ever seen in NyC. Chocolates, cookies, crackers, chips, cheese, all from Germany, Greece, The Balkans, and everywhere else.”

We ordered crab and shrimp pastries as starters. Which caught my attention because they are whole jumbo shrimp!!! Something unusual in Brazil!!! The salmon was divine with steamed vegetables and al dente!

“It's hard to find much wrong with this place; the prices for some products are unbelievably low compared to local supermarkets and stores, and it really shows how ludicrous things have gotten with no competition in the neighborhood. It's new, clean and stocked with an insane array of merchandise, even a full-on toy section. Target store brand isn't terrible, but can be hit-or-miss. Some prices are also oddly higher than other stores in the neighborhood, but I'll put that down to pricing quirks. They also mostly carry major brands as you'd expect, so I find myself going elsewhere for more eclectic things.”

“a simple no frills deli in astoria thats not on ditmars blvd but i assume the owner likes the name .old school grocery shop where you can get the basic from beverages, snacks , sandwiches , etc. i stopped by on a sunday morning with time to kill until the fish and meat market opens and egg white on whole wheat toast and tropicana orange juice should keep me content until lunch time .nothing fancy after this place and thats just dandy with me.”

“Those one-star reviews are salty opportunists. Key foods is basically the best chain in QNS. That said this is the Very Best Store. A lot of reasons why, but the General Manager is really it. This guy is sooo dedicated and calm. Fair and intelligent. He is an exceptional leader and customer service King. Cleanest Store, amiable employees; and more services offered than most. Sale prices are always competitive and you never see product on the floor or expired. This guy is poetry in motion when it comes to running an operation. I'd love to see the books! I'd bet they are a 'market leader' pun intended. To the best grocery store experience in the hood! May your manager get head hunted for another Zero on his Salary!!”
