“Garden Gourmet really is an oasis in this neck of the Kingsbridge-Riverdale woods. The quality is uniformly high, with a few exceptions, and the prices are decent. More expensive than, say, Stop & Shop across the street, but overall a vastly superior store. Produce selection is abundant, with plenty of organic options. You can tell the store has a buyer who cares about quality. Again, with exceptions. They occasionally sell Sunset brand products, like tomatoes, which are not good. They should do better quality control on tomatoes. Also, there are many bagged veggies, like spinach and salads, which can contain spoilage and are best avoided. I wish they would eliminate these, but I guess people like them because the veggies are pre-washed. But there are plenty of fresh alternatives to these. The meat and chicken section also is good quality, but can be pricey, except they have an excellent deal on Bell & Evans chickens, which are top-notch. (They also offer cheap mass-produced Perdue chickens which are tasteless, but can be avoided.) The butchered meat selection is not huge, more select, but good quality and reasonably priced. However, if you're going for processed packaged meats, like sausages and other deli cuts, they have tons of high-quality imports, along with quality sliced ham, turkey, and other cold cuts that they package themselves. Their fresh fish selection is small, but good quality and not cheap. Smoked fish, though? Huge selection. Then there's the cheese -- a superb curated spread that's massive considering the size of the store, with many great prices. One picayune exception: their house-made fresh mozzarella is bland. Luckily they have other brands. Garden Gourmet obviously prides itself on their house-made products, including bean salads, olives, slaw, potato salads, etc. -- and these are uniformly good. They also offer a TON of prepared cooked food for take-home meals, but I never buy that stuff because I cook for myself. It sure looks and smells good though. The GG has a HUGE selection of locally sourced bread off all types that blows away any supermarket. Also a nice pick of cakes and pies and other baked goods that are either house made or locally sourced. One other criticism of GG: Their coffee beans are inferior. I wish they'd get a new supplier for these. Othewise there is SO MUCH more I could say about this store -- like discuss their IMMENSE selection of products imported from mainly Eastern European countries -- but I've blabbed on enough. If the Garden Gourmet ever closed down I'd be shattered.”

“I love shopping here for certain types of food. I love that they give the option to get your grains, rice, flour and other things by the pound. It is cheaper and you take what you need and have it weighed. I appreciate the courtesy of the security guard and supervisor/owner who is attentive and usually helpful. They sometimes run out of the snacks I need for my baby and i get disappointed because they have the best prices for the caribbean snacks. I look for ward to shopping here.”

“Good food, good store I recommend it although that tall lady that be there in the morning serving the food could get a little out of character over little misunderstanding and gives attitude but beside her food be bussing breakfast and lunch they stay on point super good”

“Excellent food fresh, although they hide the 99. Cent sales in a box in the left side of the store on the outside toward the bakery so no one can see, please remember lots of elderly, retired and disabled people can really benefit to see these special sales. Otherwise great customer service place is small but well organized and clean. It’s always a pleasure to shop there”

“Now open 24 hours and changed the layout of the store making it easier to locate everything you need.
The only concern I have and there's nothing that can be done is the food prices are skyrocketing way too high.
I bought salad 2 coffees 3 waters milk cereal can of tuna and chicken came to $88.
This is ridiculous”

“Favorite place since I was a child. Brought my kids here for decades, even though we had to drive 1.5 hrs to get there. I went to place an order recently and it said they weren’t taking any on their site. I hope all is well in one of the best places I have ever been in to shop”

“I had an outstanding experience at Food Bazaar thanks to Marleny. She went above and beyond to help me save money by explaining how to earn free groceries, qualify for free delivery, and receive the 10,000 bonus points promotion. She also took the time to tell me about the weekly specials so I could get the best value on my purchases.

What impressed me the most was her professionalism, patience, and genuine desire to help. As a thoughtful gesture, she even gave me a complimentary bag of liners, which I truly appreciated.

Excellent customer service like Marleny’s makes a big difference and is the reason I’ll continue shopping at Food Bazaar. Thank you, Marleny, for making my shopping experience easy, enjoyable, and rewarding. You are a true asset to the Food Bazaar team!”

.as most groceries stores are these days but overall they have everything I need and always have my favorite almond milk that is generally extra creamy as stated on the label . Service is good too they always take care of us and honor their prices of something is in the wrong section or label is wrong they fix it so that's great.”

“I will walk an extra 10 blocks just for cleanness, employees are nice, a young lady who worked there for a while was very nice to my aunt using her card, she was nice to her co-worker as well, by helping him and encouraging him. Saying he is farly new so he wouldn't know how to process the card and came right over to help. I will now go to this foodtown preferably the other 2 supermarkets near by. I appreciate it. Thanks.”

“The selection in this store is great! The store is big, but easy to meneuver around. The only complaint I have is the meat selection. There could be more. Other than that, I would definitely recommend & will definitely be returning!!”

“The sandwiches are crafted with care and perfection. Never in my life have I ever had a chicken cutlet like theirs. It’s the best in the Bronx and to be quite honest it changed my life for the better. Now I know what a true sandwich taste like. Thank you Battaglias for taking care of me the way you do.”

“First time was a nice experience,
Reina was pleasant and friendly. Second time I came back for my tamales verdes de pollo. I’m happy I found this hiding place after driving many years in Riverdale Ave. Stop by before they retire. Josue and Reina will take care of you. Laura Levine-Pinedo should come do a Business Spotlight”

“Best chopped cheese I've had in the Bronx. Cheap eats and beers before and after a Yankees home game. This will be my go to spot from now on. Can't wait to go back and try some of their other food items.”

“I would recommend this store, it had a good variety of africian food, seasonings and cosmetics. Their food looked very fresh, I brought ockra that looked like it was just picked. BUT what stood out to me the most was how kind ànd helpful the lady behind the counter was. I will definitely go back again!!!”

So thankful for this spot and the team that keeps it around ?”

“I could not be happier with the delivery service and all the staff involved with that, from the manager, Steve, who took my first phone order (when I was desperate during COVID for certain items missing from my large grocery order elsewhere), and had the items to me in 30 minutes (!) . . . to the woman who has taken my order over the phone the next three times . . . to the delivery people -- all VERY nice. Free local delivery over $50. Cold cuts are fresher than the bigger store, and fresh bakery rolls also great.”

“Once you shop at Aldis you wont need to shop anywhere else! Prices cant be beat. I like that all the products are store brand so you know you're getting the best value rather than paying for a brand name. Also the store is smaller than a traditional grocery store that has everything you need so grocery shopping is quicker. Cashiers move quickly so even if there is a long line it moves fast. The only downside is that a lot of items will be out of stock so you just have to get used to making do with what they have in stock cost savings make that worthwhile tradeoff for me and this honestly probably reduces a lot of food waste that more traditional grocery stores have”

“Big Location with parking space. Good sales are achieved per week, especially for meat products. Fresh selection of fruits produts. Friendly staff. Plus they have a loyalty App. With points for next purchase.”

“Nice people, decent prices. Store relatively clean and organized. Shady stuff goes on from time to time (a disappointment to McGruff...), especially in the summer months. Otherwise, your typical NYC corner store.”

“Ben's Market is new and improved! This is still a very friendly neighborhood store, but now you have wider isles and more selections. It has almost everything you need. The produce is always fresh, prices are comparable and to layout of the store is fluid. The floor is amazing and the entire store has better lighting and be warned though it is a bit colder in the entire store. Take a hoodie or a scarf, if you plan to be in there for more than a few minutes. The check out is still quick and efficient and the experience is wonderful! Make your way to Ben's Market now!”

“An additional photo is the following which also impressed me:
This photo displays the healthy bread that has made my body feel better than the other breads.
The different types of food all depends on the demogrsphics (what races of people are living around the supermarket).
For example, the more Korean people or the more people who buy Korean food products, then the more Korean food and products.
I need the same amount of Korean products that are in a New Jersey State Food Bazaar in this East 171st 3rd Avenue location. Thank you.”

The clean environment contributes to a pleasant shopping experience. Overall, it’s a reliable and user-friendly place for everyday needs.”
