“This was my second visit to the Skaneateles Field Resort & Spa, and it somehow managed to be even better than the first. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. There’s a level of hospitality here that feels personal, everyone seems to take real pride in making your stay memorable.
The dining experience, though, absolutely stole the show. Whatever they did to bring in their chef… they nailed it. She came out to greet each table and walked us through every dish, sharing stories about the locally sourced ingredients and the inspiration behind them. One standout was the octopus dish, perfectly prepared, unbelievably flavorful, and apparently made with a preparation method so secret the chef wouldn’t spill a single detail. I’m determined to figure it out, even if I’ll probably just botch the attempt at home. Still worth trying!
My wife and I dine out internationally quite often, and it’s rare for a meal in the U.S. to genuinely wow us, but this one truly did. It was easily one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time.
The property itself is filled with thoughtful touches. The beds are incredibly comfortable, the décor strikes that perfect balance of elevated and cozy, and the executive putting green is a blast, I even managed to sink a hole-in-one on one of their toughest holes! The pool was heated to perfection, which was a really nice contrast to the cold, crisp air.
All in all, an unforgettable stay and a clear 5 stars. Skaneateles Field Resort continues to raise the bar, and we can’t wait to come back again.”

“After reading the bad reviews I was a bit nervous . But I am pleasantly surprised ! The room was spotless and yes there is some renovating going on at the moment but . But that's in the hallways . I don't sleep in the halls . The microwave and fridge are new and clean . The bathroom is spotless and it's a great bargain for a budget minded traveler .”

“The price was very good. It has a restaurant although we didn't eat there because their hours of operation didn't coincide with our plans. Lots of parking for a larger truck. Easy to get to, rather than having to drive into Syracuse itself. The hotel was a little chilly because it was mid winter but we would definitely stay there again.”

“I was somewhat hesitant booking this hotel due to previous reviews but due to price and location, I decided to give it a try. I am so glad that I did! It was a pleasant surprise. It was ideally located off the highway next to a convenience store/gas station for last minute essentials, just as importantly, it didn't get highway noise. The pictures on the hotel website were current and accurate-showing a clean, modern hotel. My room was super clean, quiet and very comfortable! I was satisfied with the complimentary breakfast, no frills but good to start the day. The best part of the hotel was the staff. Cheyanne, the manager offered a genuine welcome. You could tell she cared a lot about the guest's experience. Because of Cheyanne and all of the other staff, true hospitality was shown at Syracuse Grand. PS: Remember your wall charger for cell phones since the rooms do not have USB charging ports.”

“For a very inexpensive two-night stay, Nightshade was exactly what we needed. The room felt comfortable, and it was quiet enough for a good night’s sleep. We also really appreciated having a nice bathtub and enjoyed being able to take a relaxing bath.
Breakfast was well-stocked, and the staff was super friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We were able to refill our water and grab tea or coffee during the day, which was a nice bonus. Overall, the team was there if we needed anything, and we had a great experience for the value.”
