“Had an emergency flat, that resulted in me stopping buy on the way for groceries. Had one guy ( I believe his name is Adam) working in the shop by himself and navigated the orders and in coming costumers with great customer service. Was a shame to see him by his self on a Sunday but a great site to see his work ethics.”

“It's great to go to a place where the people that work there seem like they're happy to be there. I love a good old school grocery store. Produce was good. Got a sandwich to go and bought a pound of bulk Italian hot sausage for a pizza to make at home. Most the time when I buy hot sausage at the bigger grocery stores they have little to no flavor. Spera's is sausage Definitely has flavor.”
“Syracuse's best kept secret. This place is easy to miss when driving down the road, but if you look closely their parking lot is always full. Once you try their food, you'll understand why. The staff is always friendly and make you feel very welcome. They have a wide variety of hot meal combos, burgers, appetizers and huge deli sandwiches. If you want something fairly fast, affordable, and great tasting this is definitely the place to go. Highly recommend their meatballs, italian deli sandwich and fried cheesecurds. Be sure to bring cash, they keep things old school.”

“Albrecht Discount has a somewhat reliable selection of groceries at generally fair prices so we do most of our grocery shopping there at the moment. They also some great deals on odd stuff that go fast. The produce never lasts as long as some other places but that might be because its more organic.”
“I use Aldi primarily for produce. I find it to be fresher and less costly than other grocery stores. I get some other stuff if I see something that strikes my fancy, but predominantly produce.”

“This is your go-to for health foods and fun products that often aid in the transition away from the horrid food most of us eat everyday, to getting back to how humans were supposed to eat. They have many products that are otherwise hard to find in Syracuse (surprisingly! No Whole Foods, no Natural Grocers, no Sprouts, no large-scale Co Ops).

“Wegmans is what happens when a grocery store develops a superiority complex and somehow earns it.
You walk in for milk and bread and suddenly you’re surrounded by artisanal olive oils, twelve kinds of hummus, and vegetables you’ve never seen in your life being misted dramatically like they’re on display at a luxury spa.
I still enter my rewards phone number every single time despite having absolutely no idea what rewards I’m supposedly receiving. At this point it feels less like a savings program and more like a loyalty oath.
The hot food section is convenient because the food is, in fact, hot and ready — which already puts it ahead of many places — but most of it tastes like it was seasoned by someone afraid of offending salt-sensitive grandparents. Not bad, just… cautious.
That said, if I need a specific ingredient, obscure snack, or random item no other grocery store seems to carry, Wegmans somehow always has it. Plus about 50 million healthier alternatives that I fully acknowledge I should buy before immediately reaching for the regular version instead.
Expensive? A little. Reliable? Absolutely.”
“Nichols Supermarket feels like stepping into a grocery store from another era — in the best possible way. It’s the kind of place that makes you wonder if this is what grocery shopping felt like before everyone became allergic to eye contact and self-checkout machines.
The cashiers are ridiculously friendly. Not fake corporate “have a nice day” friendly either — genuinely helpful people who ask if you need anything and will still carry your groceries to your car like it’s 1972 and customer service actually existed.
Their bread selection is legendary, but you better get there early because the fresh stuff disappears fast for good reason. Easily some of the best bread around. The seafood and meat are always fresh too.
Nichols somehow manages to feel old school without feeling outdated, and I absolutely love it.”
“Stopped to pick up produce for a fundraiser. I was greeted at the door and asked if I needed help. I told them who I was there for and 2 gentleman went and grabbed my order. The woman at the window was friendly. My order was wheeled out to my pickup truck and loaded in the bed for me. Very nice people!!”

Both contained meat and were expensive. I am sure they are sourced locally from a bakery but they should be stored properly and labeled and dated. 24$ wasted sadly. Great establishment though and friendly customer service.”
“I was always coming here when I lived in Rome, New York that was 20 years ago how amazing that this place is still in business so clean and organized and what a great selection. I love how they still have meat to choose from. I would always come here for the bread and the meat and all my snacks. I’m happy to see that this store is still thriving.
