“Small hardware store, but still has almost anything you need and they’ll order new products to meet the needs of the community if they don’t have something you need! The staff is super friendly and extremely helpful, especially Ali, who helped me out my first time in!”
“Like another reviewer said, coming in here is an experience. David and Peter are just two awesome guys of the community. It’s something out of a movie. The shop is chaotic and disorganized, sure. But they will go up and out of their way to ensure you get what you need and will give you the time of day for even odd hyper specific requests. I was trying to build a guitar pedalboard but make it very customized with a pretty specific thing in mind… but I didn’t really have exact dimensions. David spent off and on about 1-2 hours going through the store and talking me through what I needed and how to do it. Pros and cons. I personally think I can be annoying with some of the trying to understand the how and why but they don’t make you feel that way.
TL;DR: being in there feels like an irl sitcom while also getting very practical help and things.”

“Needed help with door lock in new apt in NYC. Sky was recommended by my supt--and they were fantastic. Not only fixed the lock (which involved some complicated readjusting of plates and bolt) but also helped me figure out why door was continuing to stick (such that it wouldn't open) and then addressed THAT with general handyman skills at no extra charge. Fee was actually less than originally quoted. Couldn't have been nicer or more professional. Highly recommend.”

“Best selection of hardware in Astoria other than going to the LIC or Lex 59th Home Depot. Prices are reasonable, $1.60 out the door for a small box of fasteners! They take credit card for sub ten dollar purchases as well.
My two gripes are 1. that not everything is labeled with a price and 2. that the hours and days of the week the store is open are limited. Other than that, no notes. Shop at local small businesses!”

“I stopped in to figure out a solution to mount my TV mount to drywall or metal studs. The shopkeeper was very patient listening to what I had tried so far and to my plan, and he offered helpful suggestions. He found screws and washers that were perfect for my situation, and after placing a handful in my hand he told me that I was good to go. I insisted on paying but he insisted that it was fine. Very nice and helpful!! :)”

“I recently stopped by W.R. Paint Supply and just had to leave a review! Arthur is an absolute pro when it comes to copying keys—they work perfectly on the very first try. On top of that, he’s incredibly friendly, always smiling, and a really sharp-dressed guy. It makes popping into the store a total pleasure, and us ladies definitely appreciate it! ;) The customer service is simply top-notch, and you can really tell he’s the right person for the job. “This store is an amazing local hardwar store with lots of cool houseware and decorations for holidays. Not to mention the staff is wonderful and helpful. When I first moved to my apartment nearby, one of the associates offered to carry a bench I bought for my balcony for me to my new apartment. I would honestly go there more often, if only they were open on Sundays! See, Sunday is my only free day during the week, where I don't have work and less likely to have other stuff going on. It would really help both me and our community if they were open on Sundays as well.”

I called ahead to tell them what I needed in my own words I told them and they guided me throughout the whole process, I needed some lumber and didn’t know the measure of the lumber at all, one of gentleman at front took his time to show me the lumber I needed to make sure if that’s the lumber I needed for my project! “Best local hardware store. Jimmy the owner cares about all his customers amd extends every courtesy. He is so knowledgeable about most home and even commercial repairs or installations that its a place you can trust. Anyone with an issue can get the advice and help to tackle any job no matter your skill level. Its well worth the extra buck or two for materials because you actually have someone that knows about the jobs you need to do and the materials needed. You go to home depot and all you get is a shrug and or sorry I can't help you that's another department”
