“Many qipao stores have closed since the pandemic, thank goodness Sylvia's is still around. I came up from DC to find a wedding qipao after a frustrating day of not being allowed to try on garments in Manhattan Chinatown. Despite only making an appointment 2 hours prior, Sylvia allowed me to try on as many as I wanted and was super helpful in helping me decide among options. I found brocade styles that I've never seen at other stores or online. I came back several months later (timed with a work trip) to try on what I had ordered -- it had to be shipped from China. I thought I would have to return for a third trip to pick up my tailoring but no, Sylvia made adjustments while I got lunch in Flushing and I took it home that afternoon! I could not recommend making the trek out here more.”

“Overall, a great store. It's clean and there are always associates on the floor to help. Items are organized. The clearance rack is rough because the sizes are everywhere and it includes all sizes from infact to adult. Other old navy's have it separated in their department (kids, male, female).It is packed though so there is opportunity to get a deal if you have time to look.They have a line most of the time but I think it moves quickly. I come to this one for convenience of location. However if I am looking for a specific product I go to Flushing, where they usually have an item.Sales are always visible and easy to see, and there has not been one employee who didn't seem like they wanted to be there. I've been coming to this location the last 2 years.”

“Amazing experience. Reena is so kind, fun, and detail-oriented. All the people in our wedding party loved her. She was able to take our budget and color/design preferences and find beautiful pieces from her extensive inventory. We never felt pressured to buy anything. There were 9 of us in our party and we all bought something. Not once did Reena seem annoyed or overwhelmed with us. It was like shopping with a friend! She had pieces from other retailers and also makes beautiful customs. Almost like Sabyasachi! Reena even treated our party to chai and samosas after we had finished shopping. 1000% worth the drive into Queens. I would love to go back.”

“Edge Clothing is pretty cool. I was drawn in by the METS gear and was enjoying the variety of teams and the great colors. I was surprised to find the business in Yelp and that there's no photos or reviews. I know there's a Manhattan location in Hudson Yards. Maybe it's a little too high end for this location or maybe they just opened. My daughter reminded me that she buys me all the sport shirts, jackets, hats and memorabilia I need! Needless to say we hit the door. I'm definitely recommending you visit if you love to wear clothes with your sports teams name. I really love the colors!”

“This is a great store for anyone into Tibetan Buddhism. I have been there several times and always walk out with a couple of things in addition to what I went there for. The owner's wife is very friendly and helpful. On my last visit he was there (he is Tibetan/Nepalese) and he pulled up a chair for me as we discussed Vajrayana Buddhism for about an hour.”

“I have been trying different workout classes in the area (Barre3, Avena, etc.), and wanted to check this Barre place out. I took their Empower 50 minute class here.A few notes: -This location does not have locked lockers. You can keep your items in cubbys. I'm the type of person who gets anxious about that so I kept my bag actually in the class room itself, out of the way, but I didn't feel super comfortable about an open cubby space. - Pure Barre are really adamant about the grip socks. Because this was a first time class, they were slightly lenient about me buying them, but highly encouraged it. After the class - I totally understand and highly recommend you bring grip socks. It will make your experience much better. - Very female-friendly in the sense that, like many Barre classes I'm finding, there were no men in the class. I will say that the classroom had a more hard-edge feel. I think it's because of the fluorescent lighting? It felt like we were in a basement, due to the type of lighting and that there are no windows. Great upsides: -Empower was a WORKOUT. I was sweating probably only 5 minutes in, and my muscles everywhere got SUCH a workout. I loved how the concept is never stop moving. If you do take breaks or water, it's for a very short period of time, but the momentum of the class keeps you going. As a newbie to this location, I kind of wished I had taken one of their Foundations classes, because it felt like everyone knew what they were doing. - The instructor was fantastic. As mentioned, I felt like everyone knew this class already, and I did not haha. But the instructor came up to me and gave me pointers or told me where to put my feet/hips to do the movements correctly, and I really appreciated that a lot. Only because I'm out of town often, and this gym is a little bit further of a walk than other gyms near me, I'm not paying for the month membership, but this is definitely a studio worth trying!”

“I was home visiting for the weekend and needed to go to the crate to pick up some pants I saw that they had online. I knew i needed to try them on that’s why I made it a point to stop by the store. From the time they buzzed us in the staff was very warm and welcoming. Extremely helpful and friendly. The experience was overall very pleasant and they had what i was looking for and of course tried to upsell me on other merch they thought i needed which from a retail standard is always good sales ethic.Highly recommend stopping by and checking them out. Weather it’s from clothing, scented oils and etc. She also imports most of the things that she sells from countries like Egypt, Türkiye and Morocco which I love since everything is of high quality. Her prices are just right and I always end up spending a little longer than I’m supposed to because I always find something new that I like. She is excellent with styling hair, blow drying, highlights, color. Every time I get my hair done I get nothing but compliments. I have been going to her for the past 10 years. “I will be recommending this store to everyone I know. My sister and I came in today to buy our mom dresses for mother’s day. Right away, the man in the front was so kind and greeted us very nicely. My sister and I are not used to going into dress shops without our mother, so going in we felt very intimidated. However, once we met Shabnam auntie we immediately felt so much more comfortable. She was truly the kindest person we’ve ever encountered. We have previously been to other clothing stores such as Al Hamra and the workers there are both inexperienced and rude (especially towards younger people who don’t speak fluent Bengali). Shabnam auntie was the complete opposite. We had no idea what we were looking for. She asked for a picture of our mom and helped us match the best color and design for her. You can tell Shabnam auntie was a designer, she definitely has the talent. The dresses selection was beautiful and well priced considering the designs. This store is definitely a hidden gem and their customer service is incredible. My sister and I haven’t stopped praising their service since we got home. Definitely coming back here again.”

“I'm always looking for a good deal. Primark has everything you need at an affordable price.On my way home from work, I'll occasionally stop in and see what's going on. The last time I went, I picked up some sweatpants for $9. I've gotten jackets, shoes, pillows, undershirts, you name it.if there's one near you, I recommend taking a look. last time, I saw jeans for $28 and a winter coat for $55. I wasn't in need of them but the savings are all over the store.”

“I've been frequenting this store with my mother for longer than I can remember. As far as i know this is the only place one can buy fresh puja leaves for religious functions. Of course they have taris, lotas, instruments- tablas, dholaks, dhantals, books.. but i go there for the fashion. They carry all sorts of traditional and modern style indian wear, even custom jora jamas. The store is always nicely decorated, especially for holidays.”

“Best rainbow I ever visited. A super generous selection of clothes, almost everything is on point here. They got a downstairs with all their shoes and plus size women's clothes (but there's plus-sized clothes mixed into the top floor/entry floor too). Cashiers are super polite and chill. Kinda pricey compared to other places but the quality of the clothes here will not disappoint. Pockets in pants (sweatpants and leather) are also kinda good too!!”

“Sai Bridal on Hillside Ave carries a stock of beautiful dresses and garments for all major occasions. They are very attentive and welcomed my sister and I uponarrival. Sai was my first stop while wedding dress shopping which made for a great start. The team was persuasive but not pushy. After visiting four different bridal shops, I confirmed my purchase with them. They were very accomadating because when I requested alterations, they created a new dress from scratch and had it shipped in less than two weeks. They were able to construct a very elegant dress within my budget which was under 1k. Also, this dress definitely makes me feel like a bride.
