Lisa suggested we Frankenstein it and build another layer and I tried it out in the store and….Presto! Perfect angle for my head and neck. “Not sure why all the low star rating- perhaps I haven't been enough times to really get the feel that others have. I come to this Target because of their partnership with Ulta. I love their beauty section and how many products are available without going to an Ulta; I especially enjoy being able to pick up a few luxury minis for travel. I have been here 3 times now and always have a good experience with finding everything plus several other products my local target doesn't carry. Always clean and organized. Parking is a cinch and a dollar and hr! Great bargain.”
“This is a review of one specific location (White Plains at the Westchester Mall), on one specific day (a wintry afternoon in February 2022), and one specific person (Sonia), but it also happens to be a review of my entire journey with Crate for 15+ years.
When I had my first job in NYC, I used to frequent Crate and its funky cousin, CB2, down in Soho.
Recently, I needed some new furnishings and had the great fortune to stumble into the store and speak with Sonia. She was not only design savvy (as in, I trusted her design judgment and aesthetic recommendations), but she was also engaging, dynamic, and fun. Elevated customer service. She's the type of person I would like to work with (or for) if I ever left the comfort of my home office.
She made the furniture-purchasing experience stress-free and enjoyable. If I could give her a raise myself, I would.
Also, I had only a brief exchange, but the manager of the store (Allisa) gave off really good vibes--and let's face it, retail is all about vibes.
The White Plains store is beautiful, clean, spacious, and thoughtfully laid out. I find myself visiting a few times a year--even when I don't need anything, just for inspiration.
This time I needed a ton of furniture, and I'm glad I chose this place over the competition.
Plus, Crate does a lot of business with Europe (including my motherland, Poland), and they seem to be making a bigger push toward the sustainability / fair trade / support-local-artisans movement. I hope they continue moving in that direction.”
