Woolworth Walk is a unique and charming venue located in an old Woolworth's building, showcasing a remarkable selection of local art from Asheville and beyond. Visitors can explore two floors filled with creative works, including paintings, sculptures, crafts, and various artistic goods created by around 150 local artists. The prices are very reasonable, ranging from $20 to $3000, with most pieces around $50. In addition to the art, Woolworth Walk features a nostalgic lunch counter that offers a variety of classic food items from the 1950s to the 1980s, including malts, shakes, and egg creams. While the soda fountain does not operate like a traditional one, the lunch counter remains a beloved spot for a bite to eat and an ice cream treat. The building itself boasts interesting architecture, adding to the overall experience. Though some visitors feel that a quick stroll through the art displays may suffice if not purchasing, many are impressed by the quality of the artwork and the preservation of this historic space. Overall, Woolworth Walk is recommended as a must-visit destination for art lovers and those seeking a taste of local history.

We didn’t get to try the soda fountain, so we will put that on our list for... read full comment
