The staff was so friendly and personally called me to help me choose replacements. They were prompt and efficient and it was truly such a pleasant experience!”

“Stone Mountain General store is such a little jewel in this quaint little Bethel community. My kids grew up stopping in the store for all sorts of treats after a day at the park to include ice cream, chips and old fashioned coke in a glass bottle. Tommy and Lula are always fun to chat with and do a great job of hosting all the little old men in the community in their little lunch nook which is surrounded by old newspaper clippings featuring many who sit just below. The store is stocked with all the essentials to save you from a trip to Boone or Mountain City.”

“Neat gas station at the point where you turn into Sugar Mountain with a convenience store, gas and air. They have plenty of stations are are courteous to everyone. Takes $2 for air. They offer occasional deals on candy bars.”

“A great establishment and in my opinion it is a must-stop while at Beech Mountain. I relied on Fred’s for their fresh cooked food, snowboarding gear, groceries, and gifts! They also lent me a tool to help me out when I had a lock that broke. Great staff, delicious food with lots of options, and a lot to look at and do! The Philly cheesesteak was amazing and a great price. Always left the store feeling very satisfied and well taken care of.”
