βI had visited this store many years ago because I live nearby and needed some gasoline or perhaps some kerosene, seems like a nice enough establishment to do business with, I stopped in last week in hopes they would have some fence nails because I was putting up a fence at the house and really didn't feel like driving all the way to Lowe's so I had my brother in-law call the store to verify if they might have the nails I needed and he spoke with someone there and they acknowledged that they did infact have the nails we were looking for plus a good assortment of other nails and various fasteners if we needed anything else too.
My brother in-law and myself got in the car and drove to the store but when we arrived and inquired about the nails we were pointed towards a mostly bare shelf with very little in the way of nails, there were an assortment of screws but not very many and certainly nothing we could use for the project at hand...so unfortunately we had to make the trip to Lowe's anyway.
You can take away from this review whatever you like but it didn't exactly work out as planned on this day for meβ
βFriendly help but need more cashier's and staff.. Their prices are going up now like everything else with the Current Administration.. Almost pays to go to FoodLine or Ingles.. smh.. Remember to bring your Bags and a quarter for the cart.. be well.β
βFirst time at this location. Was able to find everything on my list. Buggies were plentiful, parking was spacious. Better prices if you register as a frequent customer (easy to do).β
βLove this place! I get my gas and cigarettes there every week! Cheapest around as far as I know! Cheap sun drops too! Always very great customer service! That's my convenience store now! I rarely stop anywhere else!β
βI truly like doing my grocery shopping at this Fairvalue store, the place is clean and well organized, the prices are very reasonable and the meat department is second to none in the area and you don't have to carry around one of those discount cards to get a good price on your purchase, not to mention they have an excellent selection of beer and wine plus a bakery and deli with some mouth watering fried chicken that's priced for the whole family to eat well. Unfortunately and with sincere regret I must withhold one star due to a one time " oops" that happened a while back involving the exchange of my empty propane cylinder, I find it unfortunate that the management doesn't feel that the regular employees have enough gumption to fetch a customer a full propane tank so therefore guess what, you have to wait for a manager to cut themselves free long enough to step outside and unlock the cage where the cylinders are kept so you can swap yours out, I've bought several exchanges from them and usually the whole process only takes a few minutes but on this day the management was apparently overwhelmed with whatever task was at hand and it took far longer than expected so I had to wait for what was about twenty minutes before I saw the manager.... finally he opened the cage and dug around for a minute or so only to turn to me and say "It would appear sir that our cylinders are all empty at this time so I guess we should call the vendor" I said that there's really no point at this juncture because my steaks have probably already cooked in my car while I was waiting for a cylinder that I didn't get.β
βGood place. Honest employees, good prices, and a good country restaurant inside. Great pan fried livermush! Just don't get it if it's been sitting in the warming box, it has to be freshly made if it's livermush or it'll taste terrible, like it's microwaved.β
βPros: There's one on every corner. Great for common shopping and for the savvy shopper there are deals to be had. They have a store app with numerous functions.Cons: There's one on every corner. Some local, more rural stores have gone out of business with a DG coming in right beside them. Those great deals are frequently sold out, not stocked, and different stores have different set ups and rules. The app often doesn't work inside the physical store building...very disappointing.β

I am always treated with respect and I love the fact that I can get ice free of charge if I have my own cup... Love it.. The experience is rated: 10!!! Top of the list for the best Convenient store in Lenoir:)β
βStopped here to fuel up and noticed they had Hunts brothers pizza.. the guy cooking them talked to me while I waited on my pizza and he was right about one thing.. they have the best hunt's Bros pizza.. hands down.. and clean friendly storeβ
βAlways a great staff. If dollar general corporate people ever look at this or anyone else that want to share it. They deserve to make more then they do since Dollar General can afford to build one ever 15 miles... Thanks for the hard work yall put in day in and day out. Blessings.β
βThis little store is great! It's got produce and discount groceries, and the prices are great. There's always something different there. You might not be able to get everything on your list there, but there's always a bunch of fruit and veggies, plus dairy case items like cheese, eggs, yogurt, etc. The lady who runs it is really sweet too! So glad to have a place like this in our community.β
βStop here atleast once a day the lady that runs then store is awsome and is usally there from open to close everyday also the older lady that does the pizzia is great and has my order memorizedβ
βAt the holiday to go on blowing rock blvd lenoir nc 28645.There is one older lady that is hateful and acts like she dont want to do her job or hates it she also lied on me saying she told me that i couldnt come back to the store which is not true over a free refill which i showed her my cup i of theres as i came in the door that i had bought earlier that day and which several ppl has do it all the time. I didnt know any different i apoloized to her told her i didnt know that Which i did pay for 1.00 plus tax she told other cashiers that she told me not to come back in the store which is a straight out LIE. I didnt understand why she told that cause there were no harsh words said to her not one hateful word and i even apologied to her when she said no refills are free. I said ok didnt know sorry and kindly paid for it. This is not the first time things like this is happened with this woman. Me and a friend of minewas standing in line behind this guy She didnt want to pay off a lottery ticket he won on and wouldnt sale one cause she said she didnt want to have to count all that down and it was not after 12 midnight which you can cash in till 2am and buy them no matter what time it is and told the boy that had the winning ticket he was band from the store. All bc she didnt want to do her job. So watch out for her if you go up there she might do the same to you and ask around about her other ppl will tell you how rude and hateful she is. And i have never been disespectful or ever give this woman a hard time idk why she would lie on me like that. But other than that everything is ok there.β
βOverall, I've always loved our oak hill walmart, aka Dollar General, thanks to Sherry and the whole crew for always making a usually quick shopping trip as stress-free as possible.β
βStaff is always cheerful and available to help. The store is clean, shelves are neat and everything is in the correct place. This matters to a person like me. The produce is ALWAYS fresh and free from fruit fliesβ

βLocally called "The Pop Shop" it's the modern replacement for a corner store. Snacks, soft drinks, MD 2020, energy pills, elevation tablets, glass accoutrements of dubious application, and scales to go with them. You've been weighed in the balance and found partying.β
βHad a great customer service experience with the manager and a young gentleman who helped me get all my shopping needs and even walked out with me to load my car with soda and my bags.β
βThis dollar general is a NCI home store, which basically means they carry more βhomeβ items such as rugs, kitchen ware, sheets, and decorations. They are always clean and tidy.β
βThe dollar general in lenoir on morganton blvd is one of the cleaner and well stocked stores in lenoir. Friendly, and fast check out.would like it better if self checkout worked for quick purchases.β
βUnbelievably nice people that care!
My car had just broken down and barely made it into the Dollar General parking lot with smoke fuming out of the hood. After the smoke disappeared, a person drove into the lot and saw me struggling and looking under the hood. He stopped over and asked if he could help in some way.
After 10 minutes, we knew there was not a quick fix and he started to call friends that might be able to help and also another that owned a tow truck. We stayed in the Dollar general for approx 3 hours trying to find solutions since I was 6 hours from home.
Later, I had it towed to a local auto repair shop (Mr Tire) which they successfully fixed the car after a few days of waiting in a part over Presidentβs weekend.
BUT, the real hero was a guy named Dustin. He was the guy that helped me for 3 hours. Dustin also works at the Dollar General, which I did not know for the first 30 minutes of his kindness.
I can only say to Dollar General corporate offices, please keep a great employee and an even better person. He represents your company and service attitude more than I have seen in my 64 years! The other two employees in the store were so gracious and accommodating also. Congrats to Dustin for being a caring and diligent young man.β
βThe remodel was a nice upgrade. However, I must say, I'm disappointed in the new layout. As a parent, I was surprised they decided to put all the achol right next to the baby section. Also, not a fan of, putting the woman's intimate wear right at the front of the store, across from the checkout lanes.β
βI love visiting this spot!! They have the best selection of local everything!! The brothers that own and operate this place are the friendliest folks and are ready to answer any questions you may have about their products. I always have them pick my tomatoes cukes peaches or whatever seasonal local produce I'm picking up. The wife of one of the brothers makes the BEST sourdough loafs AND cinnamon loafs! Not to mention her fried fruit pies and seasonal loafs.? Oh yeah can't forget the hoop cheese and boiled peanuts. Seriously, the owners are just super friendly and show their appreciation for your business through their welcoming and grateful spirit ? This little place holds a lot of nostalgia my family. I will always choose Greens ?β
