The service is incredible and the food was on par with some of the best places in the world that we've dined. A truly special experience and worth the effort if you are in the area and can get a reservation.

Ordering is simple: just circle your choices on a paper menu, take it to the counter, pay, and they bring your food out to you. Everything we had was excellent!!

4004 NC-105 Unit 8, Banner ElkGet reservations. We didn’t have any because we just rolled into town and we’re able to eat at the bar but reservations are surely recommended. I had a stick of the day which was a ribeye and it was cooked perfectly to medium rare. My wife had oysters from North Carolina and she loved them. The bartender Andy was very nice and positive.

Sorrento's Italian Bistro
140 Azalea Circle Southeast, Banner ElkOkay okay so I immediately loved this place! The location, the outdoor music from a restaurant next door, the vibe; everything screams this place is top notch. The food was great, though we got one pasta dish that had way too much red pepper flakes. Cocktails were also great. They have three bars and though we did not have a reservation, we found a few open seats at the bar so that’s where my friend and I sat.
When we sat however, the bartender (we later found out his name was Chase from the check) was so dismissive toward us. He hardly said hello and just had an overall attitude with us that he didn’t seem to have with all the others (mostly men) at the bar. He didn’t introduce himself, was not friendly, and then asked us if we wanted bread when we already received our entrees. This was enough for me to write this review but to make matters worse, we then heard/saw him yell at a young server (woman) over the bar for speaking to him over guests. When she came over to the bar (behind it), he was also dismissive with her.
Look, I get it; worked in the food and beverage industry forever and yes, you should speak to the bartender at the end of the bar, not over or behind it, but there are much better ways to speak to people, like “hey I’ll help you at the end of the bar in a minute”. I was honestly embarrassed for him.
I would absolutely come back but I would also avoid this guy (he has long dirty blonde hair pulled back with glasses).
Not the kind of service you expect (ever) but specifically in a place like this. Side note, the other bartender seemed great and was friendly; we wish we had him instead (tall blonde).
