“Sam is 50% craftsman, 50% artist and a 100% genuine and fair Southern gentleman. He repaired my wife’s favorite brass lamp that I thought was a goner. And he did it while we waited! A complete professional who clearly loves what he does. Not many people like that anymore. My highest recommendation. We will go nowhere else for our lighting needs. Thank you Sam.”

“We had a dated Thomasville bedroom set and decided to refinish with Pender. From Crystal commitment for reliable information to David Pender who personally picked up our pieces and quality of workmanship he transformed out furniture to an unbelievable color. Traveled 2 hours to drop of personally. He is an incredible, genuine, honest and reliable. I can’t thank him enough for the beautiful job. When a piece broke while moving he fixed it also. Thank you so much”

“This is one of my favorite hidden gems in Raleigh! Also one of the best vintage shops I’ve been to. It’s definitely one of my first stops when showing off my city to friends from out of town!”

“Charlotte is a national treasure and UCC is one of my favorite places. Every trip requires at least three loops through the shop to take in the sights. There is always so much to see! Charlotte has the best inventory and I always leave inspired… if you’re looking for a little (or big) something special, you’ve got to go!!! You’ll leave with fantastic finds and a new friend.”

“Omg! Exactly what I’ve been looking for!! I’d been trying to find an antique store in Raleigh and this one is so perfect. It is BIG, I was there for easily at least an hour just seeing everything they have. Prices are a little high on some things but I can also appreciate the value on so much of their things. I wanted to get so many things but I was on a budget 😭 I ended up getting what I believe is an original 1700s print, and two newspapers, one from 1937 and the other from 1969. Very awesome. I’d been thinking about how cool it would be to get my hands on an old newspaper and I did!
TLDR: a hidden gem with so many gems inside. If you’re like me and are obsessed with old things, go there.”

“This is a hidden gem in the North Raleigh area located on Durant Rd. This place offers mini antique shops, candle store, pottery store, nursery, paint store, and Blacksmith shop. The atmosphere is fantastic, the owners of each store are very friendly and welcoming. The products offered are beautifully crafted, perfectly curated, and unique. The candle store even offers classes and the lady owner can also tell you about the history of the building. This place is really neat, different in a really good way. So I invite you to stop by and buy from local small businesses.”

“Honestly, it was really a good one. I was able to pick up some candy at about 10% of cost at the grocery. It was within the expiration date. I bought a 1980s starter jacket for really cheap. All the vendors were really nice. A lot of choices. It was wicked cold, but a ton of folks out.”

“I just spent my afternoon going between the two sister stores, and could not have had more fun! We just happened to find the first store by chance as we were driving on our way to a different store, and just happened to see their sign while waiting at a light. I am SO GLAD THAT WE STOPPED! Each store is AMAZING! Each of their 2 stores is a TRUE antique store- which is a very rare thing to find these days. As my husband said, it’s part antique store, part museum! They had antique chairs made from a tapestry from the 1600’s- unbelievable! They had so many beautiful European antiques, but what makes this place truly unique and special is that their prices were more than fair. I am an antique dealer, myself, and I was able to purchase things at each of their stores that I will be able to resell at my store, which is amazing. Even my husband had fun walking around and looking at all of their beautiful wares, and even found something for himself (which is unusual for him). If I could afford to get rid of everything in my home and furnish my house with their fine antiques, I would be one very happy girl! I can not say enough about the quality of their merchandise, how beautifully it is all displayed, and how truly kind each of the “2 girls” were to my husband and me while we were shopping at their stores! I am planning to come back here often to fill my booths (and my home!) with their treasures.”

“So this place is in an antique shop called Cheshire’s cat. We had a hard time finding it at first because there was no store front anywhere. Glad we found it! The entire antique shop was huge and super cool but this place was our favorites. Lots of vintage books, magazines, and more. If you like historical relics this place is for you!”

“Fun vintage store for that collectible item or kitchy must-have. They are my local go-to for retro Christmas items and replacement broken Shiny Brites. You'll enjoy the store's vibe and endless selection.”

“This place is pretty big but not too overwhelming. Good air circulation for a basement but still bring a mask or gloves if you have sensitive allergies. Prepare yourself for a myriad of different scenarios, chaotic spaces and well curated organized environments. Prices usually match the look of the space. These days the internet has made it possible for deals to be had and lost easily.”
