When I asked to get a picture with Oliver, I was asked if we had been there before. I told her it was our first time and it was our anniversary. They gave us a signed bottle of their sparkling wine and the (emplty because it was so good) bottle is now in a special place on display with other sentimental pieces at our home.

255 North Trade Street, TryonThe best bagel place in Western NC! I’m not a bagel or biscuit guy, but I have a feeling I’ll start to crave bagels more often. We had the Heart Attack on a Cheddar Bagel and then Bird Mountain on the Everything Bagel. Both were very tasty with generous servings of eggs, meat and cheese. I can’t wait to try the Bagel with Lox, cream cheese, capers and onions next. We came back after a short stroll downtown to get peanut butter cookies, day old bagels and soda and the gracious older lady at the counter offered a cup with ice and reminded us that we forgot the paper menu we asked for. The black lady on the counter who took my initial order was fabulous, too. Sorry for the descriptors but I wanted to clearly identify them since they made the visit so great! I’ll definitely go back!
9/26 Update:
Came back today for the Bird Mountain and Lox and Cream Cheese Bagels and they were just as good as the last time. More than quality of the meats, the generous portions, the fresh bagels, it’s the staff that makes this place what it is. It’s definitely one of my favorite breakfast spots in NC, along with Biscuithead in Asheville and Merritt’s in Chapel Hill for the bacon sandwiches. The fudge brownie was also good (crumbly, not too sweet, loaded with nuts) and we took home a selection of their day-old bagels when we can’t do the 70-minute drive. I looove this place. ❤
