Payton was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. She went ABOVE AND BEYOND! I will definitely be back. It's a little farther to go to than the one that's closer to me but this PSP is more professional, helpful, friendly and welcoming!
I stopped in here to check out the sales and discounted items for dogs and cats for a cat rescue I volunteer with as well as an animal shelter in SC I donate to.
The staff, at this location, are very professional, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and welcoming! The staff are also hardworking!!! The store is well stocked with products for your pets.
The prices, imo, are kinda high. It's nice that they price match other competitor pet stores prices.
Easy to get to and plenty of parking!

So we did much research and came across the deep litter system for our beloved chickens. The thought of no needing to clean the hen house for a year or two sounded amazing and there was one way to truly find out if it's true... pine shavings was a no go plus I'm allergic to pine. Hay or straw was also a no go got nasty mushy quick and you can smell the ammoniaThen comes the hemp...what a miracle. LOVE the smell of it nice and fresh...LOVE how absorbent it is...but most of all LOVE how it does not smell after months of use!!!!! But not all hemp is the same. We tried different ones and not only are they expensive the quality is not the same. American Hemp LLC quality is ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I included picture on our deep litter hen house after putting some more hemp on top of the exciting hemp. You will have to do research on how it works since there are a couple of way to do the deep litter and how to understand the process...but this project is the BEST. THANK YOU

Oakes Animal Hospital
151 Vinegar Hill Rd, Winston-SalemUpdate October 2024: Oakes is still the best place in town for veterinary care from my experience all these years later. They helped us through two years of treating diabetes in an senior cat very compassionately and are now helping us deal with another senior cat as he deals with constant upkeep shots.
They're often very very busy, please be patient they're dealing with lots of other passionate pet parents.
TLDR: This vet is amazing, it is the number one place I trust with the health and well-being of my cats. I believe you should bring your pets here.
Since I live across the street from this shopping plaza I was ecstatic when my wife and I noticed the sign go up for a vet right here. We hadn’t had great experiences in the past with another vet nearby and hadn’t found an alternative in a couple of years, so this was perfect. One of our cats had some dental issues that the old vet had noticed, but the price at that vet was clown-shoes crazy so we were never able to get him taken care of the way we wanted.
At Oakes the initial visit, the dental work that included multiple extractions, the medicine my little guy needs, and the follow up visit all came out to about half of what a similar procedure had cost at the old vet. I am so, so, so grateful Oakes has allowed me to take care of my cat the way I wanted to without breaking the bank.
On top of the very reasonable price is the added bonus of an amazing staff that really cares about the animals they are treating. From the person at the front desk the Doctor treating my cat, every single person we’ve dealt with at Oakes has shown compassion and competency.
Also, the interior of the office is immaculately done. Between the calming setting of the lobby and the awesome exam rooms with large windows, the atmosphere kept my cat the calmest I’ve ever seen at a vet.
This is where I will be bringing my boys and where I will be recommending all my friends bring their pets. Oakes Animal Hospital is the best addition to this area in years.

My cat boys fight (sometimes very vicious) for days after a vet visit, which is due to the unusual smells they return home with from the vet office. I thought I would try a mobile in-home vet from a friends referral of Dr. Klatt, and it was the best decision that I have ever made for all of us. Dr. Klatt's expertise, patience, and understanding of a high anxiety and easily stressed cat that hates any changes was executed with precision. I will continue to have her into my home for my cat boys for many years to come! Anyone that needs an in home mobile vet Dr. Klatt at Companion Animal Services is the one!!!!!!!!

When my normal vet of 18 yrs refused to see my dog because "she was too ill" and there was "nothing they could do for her", the staff at Midway Vet immediately agreed to at least examine my dog. Not only did they treat her and help her recover, they requested daily updates! Both Drs are outstanding along with the staff - from reception to vet techs.

Mt Tabor Animal Hospital: Craig Jr H Brad DVM
4138 Robinhood Rd # B, Winston-SalemFantastic Veterinarians and staff. My elderly dog became very sick over the Fourth of July- took him to the closest veterinarian (not Mt Tabor) was charged excessive emergency fees- only for the Vet to tell us he could not find a problem. Sent him home on strong pain medication that made his issues much worse. Fast forward to today- brought him to see Dr.B. She listened to his heart and knew right away there was a serious problem. After an EKG and ultrasound we found out he has fluid around his heart and his cancer has most likely returned. Not the diagnosis I wanted but now we have an answer. We were also not rushed nor charged outrageous fees. Mount Tabor is a drive for me but I will gladly do it to take my dogs to them.

I was frantically calling around trying to be fit in somewhere and the receptionist (Mackenzie I think) was so compassionate and was able to squeeze me in for a last minute, same day appointment. Not only that, but Dr. Reece was so knowledgeable and actually rescues cats herself so she understood my concerns. I will definitely be back!

Ard-Vista Animal Hospital: Gessner Matthew DVM
527 S Stratford Rd, Winston-SalemI absolutely love Ard-Vista! They were always extremely careful with my yorkie who had terrible health issues and a collapsed trachea. They saw us through both of my previous girls' passings and were so respectful of them through the process. Dr. Morrison even sent us heartfelt, handwritten card about how special he could tell our little Piper was to us and how sorry he was for our loss. We now have 3 Maltese. Dr. Gessner is our regular vet and he is extremely patient with me and my 1,000 questions as a constantly anxious dog mom. He always takes great care of my dogs and is very careful during procedures. The entire staff is fantastic and Jessica up front is an angel. I can not say enough good things about them.

400 S Green St, Winston-SalemFrom the outside this place is such a cute little building! Opening the doors it's inviting warm and welcoming. It has a cool vibe and the service we got from the barista. It was excellent. I ordered the usual coffee shop, staple: and oat milk iced mocha latte. I asked for about half of the usual mocha they put in it, but I don't think that it was enough because I could barely taste the chocolate. When I go back, I will get the full serving of chocolate. Other than that, the coffee was delicious and satisfying. My friend got a cappuccino that he said was excellent as well. The place had the most beautiful aroma of freshly roasted coffee. Neither of us got anything to eat, but they did have a couple of options. I'm pretty sure one of them was a croissant of some sort and we will have to try that when we go back.

We went in and were greeted by a friendly attendant. He explained then menu and we each ordered a different beer. The taste was impeccable. Those brew master's know what they are doing. The flavors were rich and notable. I will definitely put this on my list to recommend and return too..

While Boba tea on its own is wonderful, the addition of gelato making it a “Boba Float” makes it even better! There are a nearly endless amount of combinations to try, making your usual drink taste just a little different.
Don’t wanna mix your desserts? Get a boba tea and a separate scoop of their many flavors of gelato.
The staff was super kind, but unfortunately understaffed for a Friday night, with only one employee. Hopefully they improve that, but the lady who served us did a great job managing the chaos.
We can’t wait to go back and try some different flavor combos!
