“This is the best RBC on this side of the harbor. Always helpful. There is a reception person there to help and if there is no one there to greet you, someone comes running if your not in line for the teller. I would give it a five, but the parking situation kinda sucks if your disabled. Unless you take a cab, then the door is right there. Senior friendly and there's a teller windows with a seat.? PS see Nick if you need financial advice. He's kinda young but does have gray hair?”

“Where it all started for The Bank of Nova Scotia in 1832. Of note they had offices in the Caribbean before they had a branch in Toronto. Lots of history in this building. Former head office before they moved it to Toronto. If you like old architect cure it is worth lookin at.”

Sometimes holds are placed on cheques more often then other banks I have used in the past BUT they usually offer to call your home branch & remove the hold & if they don't offer they will if asked. “In person the service is excellent. There is a teller there that i consider the best. And the phone service, once i get a teller, is excellent.My issue is business phone machines. First of all one of the options should be to speak with a teller for "other" reasons for calling, immediately (within a few seconds) of hearing other options out of respect for every one's time. (i.e. processing volume of callers a minute earlier is good... probably).- voice recognition is still garbage. button prompts make sense.- the machine voice shouldn't have an "advertising" or "outgoing" tone to it, this is rude. The tone sucks.- the machine process should respect the listener by not running ads constantly and selecting a modest volume to stay true to. Instead we have insipid music and then a much louder RBC ad layered over the music while you wait. This is very disrespectful. I'm not offended, i'm just tellin ya common sense.- customer service via phone has fallen off for every business i've interacted with. The culprit seems to be a lack of design values with machine services, which comes off as lack of respect for the customer. It's just sloppy design with greed to sell, disregard for people while handling volume. But design can make it nicer instead of loud, rude, annoying. Selecting better music isn't something you can teach, restraining yourself to have less useless advertisements (it's free so it doesn't hurt, right?), and quieter tones, not volume, the tone. A little more "japanese" could do us some good. Embrace restraint and smoothness in your design.”

“The Indian staff member at the front desk (short — sorry, I forgot to ask his name) is really helpful. He does his best to provide good service. I needed to show an immigration joint balance letter, and he immediately helped set up the account. Since it doesn’t reflect right away, he provided a letter confirming the joint account. We didn’t have much time to submit the document, so his quick support really helped.
What surprises me is that Scotiabank charges $15 (per copy and I spent $30 for joint) for a balance letter and doesn’t even provide a signed and stamped copy. I’m reducing one star because of the high service fee. In Montreal, I used to get this for free with a signature and stamp.”
