“This one dude that works there, I think his name was Joseph, must have brought out 5 or 6 styles of boots, different sizes and widths, and tried a few different inserts for me before I finally found a pair of boots that fit my feet right. It was at least an hour. He was as if a consultant, an expert consultant.”

If you ask, they will help you style an item and recommend different pieces if you are going to an event or in search of something to fill a specific need. The store’s curation is beautiful and very contemporary. There are lots of interesting, easily wearable pieces that my eye often doesn’t fall on right away because of how attractive the unusual/textural/sculptural stuff is. The result of the aesthetic mix inspires thinking differently about dressing and styling, even when I don’t pick anything up. Fair warning—some of the price tags are steep, but A) not all of them are that way, and B) higher cost per piece is often the nature of shopping for high quality pieces from small brands and emerging designers who do not have the scale and/or willingness to cut costs on sourcing materials, production processes, labor practices, craftsmanship, or thoughtful design. And you can always wait for a sale—there are very good deals on a lot of cool, niche, sometimes very high-end pieces. Nothing here comes from a 52-micro-season brand. Like its peer boutiques on Vine St (Continuum, TMBTITWI, Sloane), everything at Idlewild has careful thought and artistry behind it. Go, browse, be mindful and open-minded—the people who make up this business are that way themselves.”

“Doug helped fit me for new ski boots. I am 67 and have arthritis. The store was very busy yet he took his time to explain in detail what type of boot may work and what he can do with my current boots in the meantime that are too big. I bought boots that open from the back that makes them much easier to put on. Doug is helping me with a binding issue as the new boots require different bindings than what I have. All this to say, that he went 'above and beyond' in helping me. Thank you, Doug.”

“I've been meaning to come in for awhile to check this place out and get a professional opinion on whether I've been buying the right shoe for my feet and I finally did today.
The service was fantastic. She instantly knew I needed a shoe with decent arch support by the way I walked. She asked about my running habits, how I started buying the shoes that I had been using etc. Recommended 3 different shoes, one of which was the newer model of the Brooks shoe I had been running in.
I ended up in a pair of Hoka shoes (ordered a 2nd pair to alternate with on run days) and got my first 5 miles in them today and it was amazing how much better today's run felt than yesterday even though the conditions were much harder. A lot of that could be attributed to my old shoes being shot with just over 450 miles on them, but I think the impact is spread so much more evenly around my entire foot than it was in the Brooks I had and that made a huge difference as well.
I can't say enough about how pleasant and knowledgeable the interaction was today and I'll definitely be back to my next 2 pairs of shoes in about 800 miles or so!
I highly recommend going in there if you are a seasoned runner or just getting into it, a good pair of shoes is much cheaper than a knee replacement! ?”

“Today I walked in with my mom and we were looking for some volleyball shoes. I looked through the shelves and Jay and Travis were two people working there and helped me and my mom out so much. Didn’t realize how much it would be but it was totally worth it for the experience. Got my Nike shoes cleaned for free and was given variety of options. They talked to us and engaged into all of us and what we were looking for. I tried on three shoes/loved them ALL! they were so adorable and he let me run, walk, and jog around the whole store. My shoes are perfect for my feet and especially since the time they took with me to find the soles for the shoes and everything else. Each shoe they helped me tie, measure, and put on my shoe. Very amazing customer service and highly recommended especially if you’re in a rush to buy shoes that are benefited for you!”

“Great customer service with the exception of a couple young ladies. There is a middle-aged blonde woman that you should talk to. She knows everything about the boots the styles and how they should fit and we’ll go above and beyond to help you out. I believe she’s a manager, not the owner. My only complaint is the styles that I usually want for example heritage Roughstock area cowboy boots, They never have them in stock But they will easily order them for you and get them in a timely manner. And I’ve never had a problem with any returns because I don’t beat the hell out of my boots and then try to return them like most people. Or at least the ones that complain on here about that. I would give five stars if it was not for the overpriced jeans and apparel and the customer service of the young ladies that worked there. But it will always be my go to store because of the blonde, middle-aged woman. So whoever you are ma’am, thank you very much for all of your help and guidance.”

“My aunt and I visited about a week ago and were kindly greeted by Sadid. I was thrilled by their inventory and size ranges and ended up buying some knee high patent leather boots in chocolate… omg. Love them so much. Sadid also helped me find chocolate brown tights to compliment the look and helped us smell some viral TikTok fragrances. I spent less than $50 on the shoes and tights. Cannot wait to go back. Highly recommend!”

I didn’t even go in for jeans but they picked out such a great options I ended up going home with three pairs. The clothes are pricey but the service and quality make it worth it.”

“Great location, staff has always been nothing but nice .. giving 4 stars because I’ve had rewards expire in the past and when mentioned literally no questions asked, they can see i had it, i spend money there and really get all my shoes there (husband as well if they have his size available), but today i was told sorry cannot apply and they track that stuff — what gives?
I even mentioned like hmm okay i guess it depends on who works I’ve never had an issue before …. bummer
But i was told it’s tracked :(
Even the female owner has helped apply before so I’m not sure what the issue was but that was a let down”
