“My sisters and I flew into the Cleveland Airport from all around the country for our bi-annual gathering last Monday, September 29th. It was my job to rent the car. When I got to the Hertz Desk, Evie, the attendant looked up my reservation and said that it was actually set for downtown Cleveland. I would not have made a downtown reservation as we were all flying into the airport. It took well over an hour, but with Evie’s help, the support specialist I finally got connected to canceled that downtown reservation without penalty and Evie got us a comparable minivan for our 5 day visit to Ohio. She was patient and supportive and very helpful, and helped this very tired traveler and her sisters get on the road for a wonderful vacation. Thank you, Evie!!!”

It was not excessively dirty.Avis corporate was very helpful and refunded my cleaning fee.I will definitely go with Avis again just not this location.”

After leaving this google review, a representative from Budget replied to my review, and I reached out to Budget Customer Service via email. The issue I experienced was promptly resolved and I now need to correct my rating from 1 star to 5 stars for customer service resolving my issue. Now, I would have no hesitation to book a rental car with Budget in the future. Super big thanks to Budget for paying attention to the customer and providing superior customer service.
Terrible experience with Budget/Avis car rental at Cleveland Airport. I would advise not using prepaid gas option. I learned the hard way. I chose the under 75 miles flat rate of $16.95 prepaid gas. The attendant checked me in at driving 100 miles. This is inaccurate. The customer service rep asked if I “had proof” of the miles I drove. I only have my GPS mileage which was 16 miles one way. I trusted the system and the rep at the desk when she said driving back and forth the Cleveland clinic is under 75 miles. I didn’t take pictures of the mileage before I left and when I returned. Learn from my lesson and use uber or don’t choose the prepaid gas option. I will never use Budget/Avis again.”
“I had a great experience with this rental company. My daughter and I plane landed around 9 in the morning and we went straight to the shuttle so we could get our rental car. We were the only ones in line and the associate was really nice to us. She greeted us and had a conversation with us. The check in for the car was really fast and simple. She told me which spot the car was parked in and told me that the keys were already in the car.
When it was time to return the car, they were closed since we had an early morning flight (5 am). We just followed the Hertz signs and dropped off in the designated spot. We kept the keys in the car and that was it. Since they were closed, we didn't have to go to the counter.
We hopped on the shuttle bus and it took us to the airport for our flight.
My deposit was returned that same day and I was only charged for what I owed. I filled up the tank before dropping off so I wasn't charged extra for that all.
The only reason I gave this company 4 stars was because they didn't let me know that it was damage already done to the car so I was panicking the entire time that I had the rental because I thought they were going to charge me for something that I didn't do.
I do think that they should let their customers know when there's already damage done to the car so we are aware and not stressed the entire time.
Other than that, everything else was perfect!! Will definitely book with them again!!”

“Okay... Cleveland International airport is going through renovations. You need to pay attention during car rental return. The GPS will take you to the front of the rental center. However, the return station is in the back of the building. This is expecially important very early in the morning when it is dark. As you approach the rental center veer to your right and follow the rental return signs. Now.. the return station opens at 5:30pm. If you are returning prior to 5:29 am, that is okay. There is nobody around the return area. Follow marked signs and park your car. Take 4 photos of the car. Front 2 sides and a back photo . You will thank me for this. Here is why . In the event someone hits the car after you are long gone, you have proof of no damage return.
Lock the car and take the keys to the return locked box. This is a lighted area with a sign to deposit the car keys. Drop your keys here. Pull handle few times to ensure the key falls into the box. Then you can proceed to inside the return center. The box runs frequently.
There's always a security guard at the center that early in the morning. I arrived around 4am. Safety travels.”
