“Wait—what just happened?! Accountability exists! I honestly didn’t expect to update my original review, but here we are. Consider me humbled (for those over 30, “eating my hat” means I was wrong). The store was/is fully stocked, today, aisles are clear, and the place actually feels cared for. Best part? The young gentleman working today treated every customer like they mattered — friendly, attentive, and customer-focused. Forgive my political failure, but this beaded young black man should run for office! We are a fan! Great turnaround. Keep it up! I only show this to prove that… wait, maybe… things can change! Welcome home, (again) CFO Donny Lau . My number is hard to find but your fingerprints are easy to see Mr. Lau. You make the world a better place! Original post: There’s such thing as disappointing, then there’s dirty—and then there’s dangerous. We shop at this Dollar General weekly, and it just keeps getting worse. I drive by every day, and it’s declining faster than Oklahoma fall weather. On a good day, you might find what you need, check out sort of quickly, and get a nod of acknowledgment from staff. On a normal day? Good luck. The staff often seem frustrated and distracted—phones, smoke breaks, or anything to avoid the chaos inside. Honestly, I don’t even blame them. It’s obvious they get little to no support, and it shows. This place could really use some leadership and pride back in the mix.”
“Thos dollar general is always clean organized and the bathrooms even smell wonderful and are very clean!! Employees always helpful and kind, the ones I've associated with!!!”
“After buying 2 different used refrigerators for our garage off of fb marketplace that neither of which worked properly, I found a new fridge at Nino’s from a scratch and dent sale. I am very pleased to finally have a nice working refrigerator that is basically brand new with a couple of barely visible dents. They also delivered it for $39 and offered to haul off the old one. I won’t hesitate to go to Nino’s Trading Co for any further appliances in the future if needed.”
“Cheapo Depo does offer good deals but be aware of expiration dates. Some are close to experation, both before and after, but there are others that are more than 6 months out. Many of these products are still good as far a fresh, not stale, but just be aware. Nothing I am saying is new, I love them for what they do, I have picked up some great deals on hamburger, frozen chicken strips and nuggets, canned items, chips, etc.”
“Ollie's is a neat store. You can find lots of bargains. You need to do two things before going however: 1. Make sure you have an idea of what stuff costs at other stores. That way you can compare prices to get the best deal. 2. Make sure you have lots of time to shop. You're going to need it. The staff at the Owasso/Collinsville OK. store are attentive and personable.”
“This place is fantastic. A great place to buy your staples at a reduced price. You never know what you'll find, it's like a new store every few weeks. The occasional coupons they send are helpful.”
“They always have everything I'm looking for and much more. They never disappoint. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the store was very clean and in order.”
“Always fun to go to Dollar Tree & find fun things for our nieces & nephews plus decorations, cleaning supplies & more! Every Dollar Tree can have different items too!”
“Wonderful store full of bargains every day. Spend less than half what we spend anywhere else for quality and name brand clothing. I never worry when my wife shops here get lots of bang for the buck. Back for my 12 yr old granddaughter, 2 jeans and 5 shirts for $80.”
“They have alot of great things here that you would need daily. Anything from chargers to tape, basic tools to eating utensils, even cosmetics! I definitely recommend for various everyday items”
“I always find items I want at dollar generalThis time it was stocking stuffers as I get a head start on Christmas preparation. The cashier was amazing and pointed out to the couple in front of me that one of the items they were purchasing was damaged. They were very grateful, and I was impressed,”
“It's Dollar Tree, the store has a variety of different things, Office/school-Party supplies and different cards, flower supplies or kitchen needs. Snacks of questionable branding or actual branded goods, the store has mixed good and bad prices(but that's everywhere) and just an overall decent place to browse or buy a few project supplies or personal stuff. Decent parking and has handicap parking/front entrance ramp.”
“Derik I advised I was putting in a good review, after he went out of his way to help and showed solid customer service for DG. Solid employee for DG from what I can see. Thank you sir.”
“This location is convenient, clean, and has everything! Karen is my favorite employee there, and she always knows how to brighten everyone’s day with her kindness and humor. #karenrules #giveheraraise”
“I am always leery of stores that I have not yet visited with, but this was a good shopping stop for me, and I was able to get everything I needed to, even though this trip was a spur-of-the-moment trip for me.”
“I love everything about this place and the people on there. I will have to say I 'price compare' (POOR) you can get a lot of things cheaper at Walmart?”
“Its a great place just remeber to be cautious of buying clothing material make sure they go straight to the wash. They are returns which means it could have been in someone else's home. Buyer beware of electronics if there is a orange tag its a return with a possibe problem. Read it. Of all the bin stores in tulsa.. without a doubt this is the best, By a landslide. You get raw returns. they don't pick all the good stuff out.Dont open boxes! Thats all they ask & keep your rug rats (kids) under control for a Pleasant shopping experience for everyone.”
“I do not usually leave reviews, but felt the need to after a great experience with the clerk, Josh, on the hwy 20 location right off the turnpike gate. There was 9 people in line & he was the only one working. It could have been miserable, but he had everyone laughing in line & talked to everyone like we knew him our whole life. What a great guy they have working for them. Hoping he’s being paid well because it completely changed the tone and atmosphere of the place making it a pleasant experience. We all left with a smile.”
“I love shopping there because thay welcome me when I go in and I do like there stuff and there reasonable I go in for a few stuff and come out with the whole store that's why I like it so much”
“This dollar General has its problems, but you can get what you need, problems that I see, low help, and always hiring new people, a high turnover rate and on some days it is closed.”
“Just started using Dollar General for my cleaning goods and some food items and using their EBT app saving a lot of money I love that of course!!!! Plus this Dollar General the employees are really nice and friendly. Specially the gentleman that is always there working he goes out of his way always to help you.”
“Great store! Way less traffic inside. Also....Max in the deli was super kind, double checking rotisserie chicken temps. Then held just the one I wanted for me. Thank you Max!! ?”
“Unfortunately we visited the Foyil store a week ago and with COVID numbers up all across the state almost everyone that went in that store was not wearing a mask. All the other Dollar Generals we'd visited told everyone they had to wear a mask in order to go in but these employees didn't waste their breath! So sad that people don't care about other people in that area! ???”
“I went to 4 DG in the past two days looking for something specific I saw online. This location surpasses all others in the area when it comes to well-stocked shelves, organization and cleanliness, and friendliness.”
“Hello, On Jan 20th, My pups were accidentlly released into my front yard where they ran off chasing kids & cats. We have been looking for them. Found out that a DG employee found them & she took Stitch (black frenchie) & a customer took Angel (Brindle Frenchie) we got Stitch back but we are now looking for the person who took Angel. If this was you or someone you know please reach out the the store. They have our number so we can get Angel back home.”
“Since they've reopened it's really nice, it's clean and organized. And a big plus is they have a security guard inside the store and he's really nice.”
“They need to give the manager a raise she is always working so hard I constantly come in here for groceries and she is the only person who keeps this place up and running!!”
“I was just up their, and none of my cards worked, so i tried the other and nothing, the young man at regester 2 said " it must be the chip reader" then he offered to pay for my item, this was at 8/16/2021 2:29 pm monday , this was the nicest thing ever , he did not have to do that, his hair was thick and black his voice semi deep brown / green eyes about 5'9-6'0 even, dark tan pants.”
“Went in after work for Flex Tape. You all did not have any but I received awesome helpful service from the one of your employees. She had dark hair, piercings and was stocking shelves in gray pants, I didn’t get her name like a dummy but I thought I would give her props.”
Burlington Stores is giving its locations a major makeover. The off-price retailer has already transformed about half of its 1,115 stores and plans to complete the redesign across its entire fleet by the end of 2026. The company calls this makeover "Store Experience 2.0." Gone are the cramped aisles and confusing layouts that once defined discount shopping. Instead, Burlington is creating wider walkways, organized sections, and clearer signs to help shoppers find what they need.
Dollar General is adding more of its private label food offerings to stores, following similar moves by big retailers like Walmart and Amazon as store brands keep growing in popularity. The store is launching new items under its own labels, including ice cream, cinnamon rolls, coffee syrups, and salad dressings. The move comes as store brand sales reached $271 billion in 2024, up nearly 4% from 2023.
Daiso, the beloved Japanese retailer known for its variety of affordable household goods, is expanding further in the U.S. market. This week, the company is celebrating the grand openings of three new stores in Texas and California. On Saturday, Aug. 10, Daiso debuted an 8,000-sq.-ft. location in Beaumont, Texas, at Dowlen Towne Center, as well as two Southern California stores - a 6,319-sq.-ft. space in Van Nuys at Mid Valley Marketplace and a 5,200-sq.-ft. store in Westminster at Westminster Center.
Dollar Tree is moving into 170 former 99 Cents Only stores, marking a big shift in the discount retail landscape. The company announced Wednesday it's taking over leases in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Texas, with plans to reopen the stores under its own brand as early as fall 2024.
Ollie's Bargain Outlet just landed a great deal of its own, winning a $14.6 million bankruptcy auction for 11 former 99 Cents Only store locations across Texas. The discount retail chain pounced after 99 Cents Only abruptly went out of business in March, shuttering all 371 of its stores in California, Arizona, Texas, and Nevada. Ollie's quickly made an opening "stalking horse bid" to grab over a dozen of the empty properties.
