“Shopping malls and I have an understanding. I only call when I need something, and neither of us tries to make it more complicated than that. This time it was a pair of jeans. Vaughan Mills had other ideas. Every corner seemed designed to persuade me there was one more thing worth buying. I let it make its case while continuing in the direction I'd already chosen.
Levi's turned out to be the easiest part of the afternoon. There were more styles than I knew what to do with, but the staff had the rare ability to offer advice without hovering over you while they did it. Before long I'd found what I'd come for.
The fitting room was quieter than the corridor outside. A neatly folded square of paper rested in one corner of the bench. It was still there when I left.
I left the store and let the current of shoppers carry me towards the exit. Outside, the noise scattered itself across the parking lot until it was no longer worth listening to. The afternoon settled into a quieter pace. I kept walking.”
“Huge store with a lot of selection. It’s not the best quality stuff but for the price point it is about what you would expect. Sort of like urban planet, but for grown ups lol. A good place to get something cheap for work or a more formal event. But they don’t accept tap — be sure to bring physical card/ cash!”
