“Yesterday I only needed a couple items so I brought my baby inside with me in her car seat only rather than her stroller. As I was shopping an employee who I think was the store manager, came up to me with a shopping cart that had a special car seat holder and offered it to me. I politely declined only because I do enjoy carrying my daughter, she’s my arm workout, but I was very appreciative and have not had anyone do something like that before while shopping. As a new mom it was very nice to have had a complete stranger be that observant and kind. My husband and I are addicted to the Farm Boy brand cookies, keep making them the same. The only thing I do wish was offered in store was a few essential household items. Such as paper towels, toilet paper, facial tissues etc. I like shopping at Farm Boy but it is a bit of a pain to need to make a second grocery store trip just for those others types of items. Maybe consider bringing in a single brand of all these products to save space? I don’t think you would need to have a lot of price point variety, most people will spend a few extra dollars for the convenience of everything being under one roof. I know I would.”

Eastern Food Market is a supermarket and a great place to pick up your everyday groceries, including fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, spices and more. They also have a great selection of fresh hot food to grab and go. They have daily meat specials with fresh deliveries, fresh Afghan bread and naan made in house, and a flat stone tandoori oven for their pizzas. Their sauces are also made fresh in house daily. We tried the Sharima rice with chicken and fattoush salad, prepared and served by Martin. Everything was fresh and tasty. They also offer family platters, catering and extra hot food specials on weekends. There is no seating area, so this is a takeout and grab and go spot. A great option if you want to shop for groceries and pick up some fresh food while you’re there. Definitely worth checking out. Lots of free parking”

“I'm a chef, so looking for funky ingredients is always on my list. This store does a pretty good job of satisfying my needs when it comes to odd ingredients. Love that they have a handful of parking spots out front. Prices are pretty good and stuff are usually helpful. Just a tip, if you can, Google the item you're looking for in advance and have the Chinese characters ready. I don't think it's that any of the staff are unhelpful, but some of them don't speak great English, so having their native language at the tip of your fingers definitely helps out.”

“Amazing fresh food, huge variety, and the best paneer in the area Swadesh has quickly become one of my favourite Indian grocery stores, mainly because of the variety they offer. Their freshly prepared food is genuinely delicious — it feels like proper homemade Indian snacks and meals, and it’s something I always look forward to picking up. Prices here are definitely on the higher side compared to other Indian grocery stores nearby, but the variety makes up for it. They stock way more options than most stores in the area, and it’s rare for me to not find what I’m looking for. Their paneer is hands down the best I’ve ever bought from a grocery store — super fresh, soft, and high quality — though a bit pricey. The sweet section is also very good, with lots of options that taste fresh and authentic. Another thing I love is how easy it is to shop for pooja essentials here. For festivals like Diwali, Holi, or Raksha Bandhan, Swadesh becomes a one-stop shop with all the traditional items you might need. Overall, if you’re looking for variety, great fresh food, and top-quality products, Swadesh is absolutely worth visiting — even if the prices are slightly higher.”
Walmart wants your groceries at the door before the ice cream softens. On May 29, the retailer said its 30-minute-or-less delivery had reached 33 U.S. markets, adding a wave of new cities across the Northeast. Shoppers in those areas can order from more than 100,000 items, everything from fresh produce and baby formula to pet food, electronics, cold medicine, and prescriptions. Behind the scenes, the service leans on Walmart's store network and an algorithm that factors in order size, available drivers, and distance from the store.
Trader Joe's keeps adding stores, and shoppers keep showing up. The California grocer has marked nine more locations as "opening soon," pushing its expansion into new corners of the country. The grocer also took first place in the American Customer Satisfaction Index's 2026 supermarket rankings. It has held a spot near the top of that list for years.
Target is rolling out its most ambitious store overhaul in more than ten years, with plans to remodel over 130 locations and open 30 new stores across the country this year. The retailer is also putting money into supply chain technology upgrades to keep pace with how shoppers buy today.
Kroger is spending $112 million to build two new stores and renovate 15 existing locations across central and northwest Ohio. The company calls it a "record-breaking" commitment to the region. The two new Kroger Marketplace stores will rise in Canal Winchester and Delaware, Ohio, each costing roughly $30 million to build. Kroger broke ground on the Canal Winchester location on March 19 at the southeast corner of Diley Road and Greengate Boulevard. The 118,000-square-foot store is expected to open in late fall 2026 and will create around 250 jobs.
Loblaw Companies Limited is putting serious money into its retail network this year. Canada's largest food and pharmacy retailer announced it will spend $2.4 billion in 2026 to open new stores, renovate existing locations and strengthen its supply chain. The company plans to open 70 new stores in 2026. That includes 34 Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix pharmacies and care clinics, along with 31 hard-discount No Frills and Maxi grocery stores. On top of the new openings, Loblaw will renovate another 191 stores and continue construction on a roughly 1.2 million-square-foot automated distribution center in Caledon, Ontario.
