“Arties has been a staple of ours for several years now. Though, the quality of their premade sandwiches has dropped drastically (much less meat/cheese/toppings and 13+ dollars). I used to get them weekly, and now I never do. We also used to be able to buy pasta by the ~100g, but now only can buy massive portions at a time. Regularly they have day old bread sales and it’s an awesome deal. Also good pizza dough.”

“This Latin grocery store has all the essentials (milk, eggs, cheese, limes, lemons, tomatoes, tortillas ) and more! Great prices too. I have visited several times in the past few months. Their cheese selection is great and many of them pair well with the prepared foods by Mesa, like the chicken (my favourite) saves me a lot of time in the kitchen (and a lot of money, hard times) I have picked up a week's worth of meals for about $60 (single)
And to top it off the store is beautiful. So happy to have a business like this one close by. Thank you!”
“We come here every Ramadan because they have the best bakery in town. Their fresh spinach sambosas and meat pies are incredible! Great depth of flavors and you can tell they’ve been baked with love. The people who work here are so kind and helpful, it’s our absolute joy to support this shop. They also consistently have the best price in town for phyllo and puff pastry!”

“I love coming here. Rosie, Laurie and Mary are fantastic staff to be greeted by, and I always feel welcome when I come to the store. The winter cranberry latte situation was out of this world! The too good to go boxes are generous. I purchase at retail price as well, and their cheeses, dairy, kale and fingerling potatoes are stand out offerings. I love having them in the neighbourhood.
I only wish they would stay open a little later one or two days a week, as I’ve forgotten an ingredient for supper before and had to trek to fortinos because I cook around 6:30pm. On the flip side, I love that their hours are consistent across the board and I can imagine they’re great shifts for those on staff.”

“Eastern Mart and Timmys have catered for us on numerous occasions. The food is always fresh, flavourful and a huge crowd pleaser! Just today we tried their nihari - it was so tasty! In the past we ordered roasted lambs with all the trimmings. Their team came and set everything up for us. Presentation was beautiful, and the food was absolutely delicious! Can always count on them for quality, taste, freshness, and service with a smile!”

Cleaning aisle in the middle. Frozen along the back wall. Front of store has a hot table with soup and other take away food. Paid street or lot parking options.”

“Was introduced to this store by my friend huong from work, good selection of fruits vegetables, peppers,fresh meat,seafood available cut to order ,I like to try many products from many different Asian countries to vary my dinner routine from getting boring, also have my favorite Jones soda ,which most stores dont carry ,a selection of dishware ,pans, cups,dinnerware,new years items also available, as year of the horse not far off.Great selection of teas,I go for the strawberry green tea.”
“What a great location!!! Tons of prepared meals at a very reasonable prices. The entire store is well stocked and clean. If they don't have what you are looking for then you probably didn't really need it in the first place. Definitely worth visiting!”
“Freshco grew on me - it was a slow burn - I realized after I moved as a “Costco & No-Frills” steady shopper but now super close to Freshco - this store is the perfect in between as it bridges, the gap between quality and price. It’s not the most expensive store and it’s not the cheapest, but it has qualities about the way they organize , and quality of products that I like, especially in meats and produce. I’m in !”

“Today, December 23, 2025. I had an amazing experience in Metro, something I wasn't expecting, the cashier paid for my groceries ? This is the first time in my life, someone does something like this to me. It came out of nowhere, no expected. I couldn't help myself...I burst in tears? God bless her ? I don't even know her name. ?”
“Affordable prices for almost all groceries. You won’t find much Indian snacks or veggies unlike FreshCo but for regular veggies and fruits everything is affordable and available. Juices meats and canned food also available. They have those wheeled trolley carts only and none of the hand held ones, lol.”
“I was looking for Royale Tissues on sale and was told there were none of the sale ones available. It was close to store closing. But then a young person stocking the shelves went to search in the back and came up to me at the cashier’s till to tell me he had found them and asked how many I wanted.
The cashiers name was Liam. He was very polite and helpful and I appreciated that he listened and cared enough to search even though it was 10 minutes to closing. He brought the boxes right to me. Saved me having to get a rain check and make a 2nd trip.
This was Saturday December 13 at approximately 8:50pm.

“Amazing fresh food, huge variety, and the best paneer in the area
Swadesh has quickly become one of my favourite Indian grocery stores, mainly because of the variety they offer. Their freshly prepared food is genuinely delicious — it feels like proper homemade Indian snacks and meals, and it’s something I always look forward to picking up.
Prices here are definitely on the higher side compared to other Indian grocery stores nearby, but the variety makes up for it. They stock way more options than most stores in the area, and it’s rare for me to not find what I’m looking for.
Their paneer is hands down the best I’ve ever bought from a grocery store — super fresh, soft, and high quality — though a bit pricey. The sweet section is also very good, with lots of options that taste fresh and authentic.
Another thing I love is how easy it is to shop for pooja essentials here. For festivals like Diwali, Holi, or Raksha Bandhan, Swadesh becomes a one-stop shop with all the traditional items you might need.
Overall, if you’re looking for variety, great fresh food, and top-quality products, Swadesh is absolutely worth visiting — even if the prices are slightly higher.”
