“My wife phoned over to the Osgoode Foodland to order an extra large Fruit & an extra large vegetable tray for a Canada Day party we hosted both trays fantastic, fresh fruits and vegetables, looked and tasted great, we are still picking away at them on the third day.

“Store is small but was not busy when I was there. Food is prepackaged and frozen. All packages have excellent descriptions and photos of their contents. Prices are also clear and visible. I enjoyed looking at every single product on display. Picked up a nice selection for Easter weekend. Personalized customer service was readily available. Checkout was fast and friendly. Health conscious shoppers will want to examine the product nutrition info because it takes a "lot" of sodium to preserve food.”

I wish the selection of fresh fruits and fresher vegetables were available but I know sourcing it can be hard unless you arein Toronto. Did buy a nice Dutch pot and some Jamaican sweet treats. “This is an amazing place to buy international food like African and Caribbean. The customer service is amazing. I always feel welcome to buy my groceries at Manila Mart. I very often buy a lot of groceries, the owner always help to put them in my car. I can’t imagine why someone will buy anywhere else than at Manila!”

“This store is NO LONGER 24 HRS. They make pizza in the deli that is 13$ for a really large two topping made to order pie. They also sell slices for $3.99. I quite enjoy it! There is also a worker named Keith that is literally the loveliest human being on the planet.”

“One of the best places to shop for your fresh veggies and fruits. Nice variety of breads and cheeses. I like the selection of eggs, and often get my supply of duck or quails eggs. Meat and fish options are also quite good. Lots of organic items, as well.”
“I’ve been coming to this store for many years, never disappointed. It feels like back home when I go there. They have snacks and products from the Middle East. The meat shop is also great. I always tell them what we’re planning to cook and they provide me the perfect meat cut that suits the food we’re preparing.

“Was there for all of 30 seconds but the owner lady (I assumed) acknowledged us right away upon entering…. This is not usually common practice in this type of store…IYKYK…. Also she was very very helpful. It seems to carry a lot of exotic stuff but we were hoping to find a specific ingredient and brand and sadly it wasn’t there but many other similar items in different brands were available.”

“A few months ago, one of my girlfriends and I didn’t know what to have for lunch. We drove past independent and decided to go inside to see what they had going on. We passed by the sandwich section by the front entrance and came across an egg salad sandwich and a roast beef sandwich…. boy oh boy, were we pleasantly surprised. We couldn’t stop talking about how good these sandwiches were. Now, whenever we hang out, do you know where we go? Independent. And what do we always get? An egg salad sandwich and a roast beef sandwich. Let’s just say, to whoever makes these sandwiches, you’ve changed our lives for the better and we hope both sides of your pillow are always cold.”
“The lady working at the self checkout at 5:48pm on June 27, I don’t remember her name but she was absolute on the ball! She knew the produce codes like no ones business and absolute sped up the flow of the self-checkout with a great attitude and professional support. Amazing work!”
“Don't normally shop here, but Loblaws stopped carrying the Pure Life Peach Iced Tea, and I can only find it at Metro now. One of the managers Ian was extremely helpful and nice. I could shop at any Metro, but I'd rather shop here where the staff obviously values their customers.”
