âhands-down one of the best local spots in the area! The food is always fresh and delicious, the prices are very fair for what you get, and I really appreciate how clean and well-stocked the store is.â
âCanât say enough good things about this store.
There are no grocery stores in walking distance of this neighbourhood. Thankfully, Abbas Grocery keeps its shelves stocked with all the basics, as well as fresh produce and a number of other important household items. Itâs also very affordable (in a time where major grocery stores jack up their prices at will) and the staff are all wonderful. Every one of them, owner included, are friendly and helpful.
Some weeks, Iâm in this store almost every day, and that doesnât bother me at all. Happy to support this business and can safely say living in this neighbourhood would be much more difficult without it.â
âA lovely little candy shop that specializes in treats from abroad that aren't usually available locally. We stopped in to get some treats before heading back to our hotel for the evening. They had a good selection of chocolate, chips, and other treats at a great price. Service was polite and prompt. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.â
âThis place is a local gem. I heard Kaz Kitchen had changed ownership recently and decided to check it out since it has been a few months of disappointment with what was in the shelves. The new owner was so kind and immediately wanted to know what I was looking for and promised to stock it up for me. A couple days later, she had gotten exactly what I was looking for, and she's kept it in stock since! Not to mention the meat pies and lasagnas and desserts she makes! I always make sure to get a lunch or snack while there. Excellent cornerstore for Guigues Avenue.â
âDomestics food is an institution. Hadi treats customers as if they were family. A Chocolate Bar selection second to none, Faygo Soda, & a stocked freezer of Ben & Jerry's, what more could you want.â

âI don't know his name, but the guy working there tonight is awesome, and he gives helpful recommendations. it's a good corner store with great staff. #beastmode lmaoâ
âA really good man. A good store where you can find what you need for last minutes stuff. A convenient place if you live in the area. And I love the fact that he closes at 10 p.m.â
âNow named Red Rock Convenience & Cafe under new management, this place is awesome. Great selection of household basics and the cafe has really decent food. Really kind staff as well!â
âThis was my first visit. Excellent shop with lots of great importeded food and snacks in a small market area. They also have a restaurant with a variety of food items. Didn't order any food this visit, but I hope to try their menu on my next visit to Ottawa.â
âThis is more than a convenience store - it is a part of the community. The owner cares and works diligently to keep the place clean and always treats customers with dignity and respect. All staff in the store follow the owners lead. They work to bring in product that people want and need. The convenience is the 24hr operation and just being there when you need it. What makes it great is the dedication to customers and community.â
âAmazing place for grocery! The owner is super cool & friendly. The owner has been really helpful with good offers, open almost everytime in the day. Itâs my go to place for convenience storeâ
âSo nice to come to this store , very personable, friendly people,
owner and staff alike. I don't understand people that complain that prices are higher? Independant stores are not Costco !â
âUOTTAWA STUDENTS. IF YOU NEED TO GO SOMEWHERE PLEASE GO HERE. prices are kinda high but they're still wayyy better than the prices of circle k off campus. its usually just some student working there so they're super chill and friendly. unlike some other convenience stores in the area, they actually trust you walking around the store alone because they realize how unlikely it is that some adult would bother stealing a piece of chocolate or something.â

âThis Quickie was recently renovated and it looks great inside. It's bright and clean and best of all, it has ICEE! Four flavours of ICEE! ICEE is the best brand of slushie ever IMO. But if you like Slush Puppies, they have them too, 6 flavours. And the F'real milkshakes. It's convenience store drink heaven! Staff are super nice too. Best Quickie ever!â

âI purchased a standard tier wash because I know most automotive car washes don't do a great job of removing all the extra wax that comes with the premium wash. Note: I also choose the toutchless wash because it doesnât hurt the paint. It did a great job of removing all of the corrosive salt that comes from ottawa roads. I'd suggest the toutchless option if you want a clean wash and don't need a deep clean from driving on dirt packed roads.â
âOn Tuesday evening, I went to purchase batteries for my car keys at Slater Street Market 350 Slater and was extremely happy with the service I received from Kuljit. He installed the battery in my car keys and sold it for a great price (less than 6$ for 3 batteries). Great service!â

âThis is my favourite Circle K ever! They are well stocked and the lady working there is super nice, like the nicest Circle K person I have ever come across. They have lots of Froster flavours, Polar Pop flavours, and coffee and hot chocolate flavours. Good selection of candies and chips too. I just wish they had hot foods like Circle K pizzas and tornados.â
âMy experience with stopping into this store was amazing. My mom and uncle go here a lot and have only nice things to say. Kind of a small place, but they have a lot of options.â

âWell I live literally right across the street from the quickie and I'm there on a frequent basis, but I ordered a gold chain from Amazon. And instead of it being delivered to my address for some reason it was delivered to the store. And I went in to get my item. I.e, the chain..and they wouldn't release it to me because I didn't have my i.d.. which I'm still waiting for my i.d to be sent to me in the mail. So now I can't pick up my gold chain I paid for!â
âThe owner Ramzi is very friendly and accommodating, and all of the new staff are very friendly and helpful. The prices are very reasonable. It's a good experience going to this store. It's not a long wait and I'm always greeted with a smileâ
âAmazing service, ordered off of Uber eats and when I needed a replacement for items that were unavailable (just the homemade fudge) the woman that works there called me and was very sweet and understanding and informative of what else she had to replace it. Awesome place, with awesome treats!!!!â
âI used to live near and went here lots! Every worker was so kind to me and welcomed me everytime. I had to move due to my manipulative roommate so I won't be coming here much but this is by far one of the only reasons I will miss living near there. They became family ⤠best quickie!â

âThis Quickie is the best. Great selection of all products, always in stock and great customer service. Bassam is a great employee, always welcoming us with smiles and never fails to make us laugh. Great store with great people.â

âCJ is a really kind person. Was helpful over the phone. I walked in the store and a woman who looked like she does drugs bothered me. I froze in place and my anxiety went up but he came to help me. I feel a bit bad he has to deal with 'crazy' people at night. Man deserves a raise.â
âRemac is easily the best corner store in the city. It is family owned and run, making it a gem in a time where there is a circle k on every block. The staff is extremely kind and I see the same man every time who works very long hours and what seems like everyday. Week after week, as the seasons change, the same man is there with a smile and a friendly conversation as he sorts loonies and quarters for me so that I can use the coin operated laundry machine in my student house. I see those in line before from all walks of life, whether construction workers or police officers, chatting away with him as if old friends catching up. Many days, I go in for something quick like more milk when Iâm stressed and down from exams but am met with kindness that turns my day around. This shop is the very essence of a hard working family business that enriches the neighbourhood around it.â
