“I first visited Village Merchants ten years ago to get some “grown up” outerwear when I first moved to Portland. I was a young professional working downtown and wanted to look sharp. The first trench coat I even owned was from here, and it was $12.
Happy to report unlike a lot of places, prices here have remained reasonable. So many great finds for your home and wardrobe and the music is always great. I’ll always recommend Village Merchants.”
“Amazing place to shop. Staff are so kind, the prices you can't beat anywhere in pdx. I'm a single mother of two boys and I came in one day and didn't have enough money and the guy gave me a giant discount and said it's a hard job I'm doing and everyone deserves a break.”
“Frequent shopper, friendly staff willing to help with bulky items. Also good Entertainment, it is a rare day you can't spot some intriguing item you have never seen before and ponder its purpose.”
“Trisha (?) was so nice and helpful and we could not be happier with our adorable couch, shelving unit and chair! Kate delivered on time and we were so happy to support a local business!”

“This thrift store is better than the goodwill down the rd! The prices are SUPER reasonable and exact and don’t end in a .99. Nothing feels too expensive I will keep going back as I usually find good scores here”
“I didn't find much for myself this time, which is the nature of thriftstores, right!? but I will definitely be back! Well organized, lovely staff and overall Portland Cool!”
“I always take my electronic items to them. They do a great job of refurbishing and then they sell everything for more affordable pricing than anyone can get anywhere else. Feels good to drop off items to them”
“I absolutely ADORE this store! I wish I had known about it sooner. Inside there is over 4,000 square feet of baby/toddler/kids toys, clothes, books, and everything you could ever need for raising a kiddo. Everything is really clean and the store doesn’t smell like a second hand store at all. The owner is so sweet. She greets everyone and is always willing to help. In fact, embarrassingly, I lost my phone and she stayed after her shift to help me find it. I am a forever customer. Also-before buying new, always check it out here first. Seriously, everything is in perfect condition. She won’t accept anything unless it’s spotless and clean. So glad I found this amazing place!”

“Beautiful shop with amazing people who were happy to help us find our long-sought antique standing ashtray. Well, two ashtrays actually... since we couldn't choose between them ?”
“The Salvation Army in Gresham is a special place. From groups for women, activities for youth, a weekly dinner, and compassionate services for those in need in their community, they are truly making a difference. It's a great place to volunteer and get connected!”
“Good operation and accepting of most donations. I was a bit disappointed that they would not take a vintage chair because it had a slight tear. Overall Habitat for humanity does a great service for society.”
“This is a boutique in The Garage Sale Warehouse. There are many little boutiques in TGSW, Glitz Sisters is my favorite. It is always neat and tidy and every time I go there are many new trendy items.”
“Cool stuff at reasonable prices. They buy stuff too. If you buy a lot they will also wheel and deal on price. Definitely a fun place to be surprised with great deals.”

“I have had nothing but positive experiences at this store. I think people are failing to realize that this is a goodwill boutique and not your everyday goodwill, yes the items are more expensive because they are higher end products and are good quality. I have found all my favorite jewelry pieces at this store and I love coming back. The employees have always been very kind and helpful, and I always have a good time in this store.”
“Best Little Thrift Store ...all volunteers operate the store with a smile. All items are donated and in great condition...from new to vintage and the BEST part is the proceeds help people who struggle with addiction.”
“I’ve frequented this neighborhood Buffalo Exchange for over 5 years, as a customer and seller, and am impressed by the pristine customer service, trendy fits and overall quality care. Shout out to Bria who went above and beyond by helping me track down an item I lost there a month prior. You can feel the care the moment you walk through the door. Thank you! I’ll be back.”
“An amazing place to both shop & donate items! Proceeds from this shop go directly back to supporting our local Canby community, funding programs like the annual Food & Toy Drive during the holiday season. We are very lucky to have this store — please spread the word & keep supporting!”

“The Goodwill on 52nd is the closest to my home so I shop and donate there frequently. It is smaller than other stores in the area, but generally has a nice selection - I rarely leave empty handed.
Recently I accidentally donated a bag of clothing that had a shawl and throw-blanket I meant to keep. Fortunately, I dropped off the bag on Sunday and realized my mistake before they opened Monday. Tammy, a manager was very helpful. She asked me for detailed descriptions then had employees who sort the clothing look through the bin and find the items for me. They found the items right away and set them aside for me to pick up during my lunch. I really appreciate that Tammy returned my call right when the store opened and that she called me right away when they found the items I mistakenly donated.
I will definitely continue shopping and donating at this location.”

“So it was a clean very nicely decorated vignettes. Full but organized shelves, but it was really expensive. Nice people but my cashier was not thrilled with my $100 bill. I apologized but I kinda thought I would have spent more there as normally at others I do. No line behind me, instead of lecturing me about how I could use other payments he could have had manager there a bit faster, he also jeot trying to sell me a paper bag for 4 things. Did he have a quota? Overall It was a nice store.”

“I appreciate finding awesome items at reasonable prices. Today I was able to help a young family aquire a kitchen table with chairs at a price they could afford.”
“Decent credit for items turned in. They are very picky so don’t be surprised if they don’t take most of what you bring.
Always a fun selection of reasonably priced and fun stuff.
If I had any complaints it’s that to see what size any given rack was I had to crouch down and look under the top to find the little “XL” tag. On the rack itself. Would be heckin helpful if they had signs on top instead.”
“The clothes are very nice and worth going for that reason. The store is immaculate. The housewares are higher end and more for collectors. The prices are not the usual Goodwill prices and that’s good to know ahead of time.”

“I have been to different goodwills in different states, and this store is the most clean one! It is a small shop, but well maintained! It doesn’t have a big collection (mostly clothes and some accessories). More shockingly, most of the stuff are new with tag, and of course the price is more like the outlet price rather than a second hand store price. The fitting room is so spacious. The women work here are friendly.”

“This store was very clean, organized so well that it’s easy to find things (someone works really hard at this- you can tell), and all the items out were in good shape. It was really impressive how organized the store was.”
“Usually has a really good selection of stuff and decent prices. I always find at least a few treasures. Staff is always nice! Heads up, it gets pretty crowded and can be hard to navigate through the aisles and they only take cash.”
