“Recently a message came up on my display screen that an oil change was required (even though by mileage I should have been good another couple thousand miles). Who knows if the company I went to previously actually used 100% synthetic though. I was recommended to Joe by friends and I always like to support fellow vegans whenever I can, so I scheduled an appt for this morning. Joe was super friendly, knowledgeable and had great communication. He was honest and clear about how everything went with my car and what to do the next time I get a message on my display screen. His prices are reasonable and he is quick too! He does a thorough inspection of the vehicle when he does oil changes and that is great to know when it comes to keeping other functions of the car in good shape. I plan to use Joe/Fairbanks Automotive moving forward for all of my mechanic type needs, and will recommend him/this shop to local friends as well. Also, Awakening Coffee, around the corner, is a super cute spot to do some work/hang out until your car is ready.”

“Very nice, helpful. They get me right in. Fix what needs to be done, not a bunch of other things. They clean the inside of the car. I have sent others to the Pit Crew, and we all have been more than happy.”

“I suppose I can't actually speak to the quality of Kevin's work, as every time I've taken a vehicle here with a concern he's pointed out that my car is actually fine. What I CAN speak to is his honestly and integrity. The man has to know from talking to me that I know nothing about cars. I'm sure he realizes I would be the easiest customer in the world to take advantage of. Despite that, he has consistently told me to put my credit card away as he found nothing that needed his services.Suffice to say, I am probably a customer for life.”

“Excellent. After purchasing a used BMW there were things I knew would need to be done to ensure my car's service was up to date. I had called two weeks prior to discuss some of the services offered at PMW and spoke with Niles, his knowledge and experience instantly made me feel in good hands. I later spoke with Ariel who is very professional and we arranged a time to bring my BMW in for service. From the moment I walked in I knew I made the right decision, Emily greeted me with a lovely smile and excellent customer service. Before the work was done everything was clearly communicated. I feel relieved to have a business that I trust to service my BMW. I am very thankful for the level of professionalism I experienced. I will recommend PMW to anyone who is looking for attention to detail, high standard of excellence, and the best customer service in the business.Update:PMW is awesome and they take care of business! I appreciate their kindness. Big thank you to the team.”

“LOVE THIS SHOP!!! I can't say enough good things about this service shop and the family that owns/works it. My sister and I were going to embark on a coast to coast road trip in a 23 year old truck. I knew that the truck had brake issues, which is why we had it towed into Cooke's Brake Service. Pat offered to look the truck over for any other issue that it might have that could cause us trouble on our trip. They worked with our tight time schedule and fix a couple other issues that helped us to have a most enjoyable and trouble free trip. Bill let us know that if we ran into trouble on our way that we could call any of them for advice. What an incredible comfort that was to us. Great shop and amazing people. What more can I say other than the price was more than fair and the work exemplary!”

“Had to get an oil change at Armstrong VW and was told i also needed brakes. They said my brakes were at a 1 and were grinding "metal on metal." they quoted me $765 for the fronts. So I took my car to my preferred VW repair shop, Precision Motor, and was quoted around $550-600$for the same job. They inspected my brakes and to my surprise I DONT NEED BRAKES! i was nowhere near a 1! Thank you for the honesty and amazing service! I have 2 VWs and they will continue to be serviced by this great shop!”

“It was kind of an accident...I wasn't planning it when I drove past the open bay at Maxim Auto Care. But I stopped. The front "skirt" on my 2014 Ford Escape was falling off--the plastic connectors worn out.It was a total cold call. The mechanic was just finishing up another car. What happened next was so unexpected and refreshing: Vitaliy, the mechanic, put my car up, showed me the problem, fixed it with an ingenious hack and sent me off.WOW. Beep, beep-- Not a Corporate Auto Shop but a kind and capable guy who can fix a car!!”

“Have 1996 Volvo Turbo 850. Most parts now not available easily. Q40 found the parts I needed on several occasions and repaired my Volvo at a fair price. When they could not find a part they made one. Very talented and dedicated pro's committed to their customer's satisfaction. Not just words to them. They live it every day. I trust them and so can you.William Belgard, Newberg Oregon, Volvo owner since 1996.”

“I took my GLC300 for Service B to Star Motors, and I'm very happy to have done this. They are very polite and respectful, very helpful and honest and much cheaper than the Mercedes dealership. All necessary services were done. They also fixed very few small jobs like phone charger at no extra cost.I definitely will go back and do my next service and also any possible repairs in this shop. They deserve a 10/10 score.Thank you for your good job.”

“West Coast Overland is my go-to shop for any Land Rover needs. Bryce did the pre-purchase inspection on my LR3 when I purchased it 5 years ago, and he and his team have been working on it any time I am in need. They are honest people that are passionate about what they do, and I have always felt well taken care of. If you are looking for a Land Rover mechanic in the Portland/Vancouver area, then West Coast Overland is the place to go.”

“Short version: Over a seven year period, Martin missed one issue, the motor and transmission mounts. That was the only thing he missed in 7 years. He caught the rest, and he didn't break my car. He likes to repair cars. I can't say the rest for the Portland area. I hope the next one can finally finish the oil pan. Still have my Honda though. 125 K and not going anywhere. I've meant to leave this review since I met Martin when he opened his shop outside of his home. He is now on Johnson Creek Blvd. I liked him, because he was polite, to the point, and didn't waste my money. Other mechanics shamed me for use of aftermarket, and he told me that was bs and to save for real repair, of which there are plenty. He was correct. Over the years, I had many things done on my Honda. Beats buying a new car. I love my 1999 Honda Accord DX. He always fixed my car, and he never caused damage. I can't say that for other mechanics in Portland. Unfortunately, the pandemic caused issues for me and for Martin. In October of 2020, I heard this odd noise in the car. He looked it over and did an oil change. Nothing was wrong. He looked again upon request and the lower ball joints were done along with the drive belts. Maintenance stuff. The noise persisted, and he really doesn't like replacing parts, and he's right about not replacing btw. After we talked, and I was sick and very panicked from the virus, he agreed that it could be the shocks/struts and would do that, and the timing belt, which was 11 years old. We sort of lost sight of that, but he did examine it regularly. I never had an issue. I left but didn't want to have the work done there, because I felt like he didn't think it was the issue. I regret that moment of taking it to another place. They didn't hear it either and they damaged my car in a few ways when they did the timing belt, shocks, and struts. Martin ended up fixing their mess. The noise persisted, and he couldn't hear it. I took it to another place, and they found the issue. It was the engine mounts and the transition mount. They installed high-quality, aftermarket, but also, damaged the car. It vibrated like mad, leaked coolant, and accelerator pedal was stuck. I went back to Martin, and he said there was no noise. He had the car a few times for days to try to hear it. He never did. The last time, I came in and he said he would do an inspection. I hadn't realized that meant full paid inspection. Had I known, I wouldn't have done it that day. He found a leak but didn't hear or feel the vibration, which was obvious to me. It was $50 to fix the leak. I said "no." I had been allowed to decide on repairs. I was at a point where I had spent over $3K and it was still shaking. My 22-year-old was not comfortable in the car she had loved. Then, Martin told me I'd have to pay him about $150 (not sure) for the check. I told him that I wasn't going to pay him, and he told me that was fine, that I could pick up the car, and not return. I actually am not judging. I wish I had allowed him to fix the leak and just waited. He would have heard the noise eventually. I think we both had issues at this time. A perfect storm situaion. Perhaps, Hondas of this age sound noisy a lot. I couldn't drive it due to my inner ear issues though. I took it to another place and it has been fixed. OEM Honda mounts and that was the issue from the beginning. I won't add to the story. There is more. I will say that I wish I could go back and just wait until the noise became a little louder. I heard sliding of the engine and the thunk on start up, but I just needed to wait or record it. Hard to do. Martin is a very good mechanic, who doesn't waste your money. I don't know why he missed it this once, but I have known him since about 2013, and he's the only one I can recommend in Portland. That's true even if I am not able to be a client any longer. I don't blame myself, but I wish we could have worked it out. I would have loved to have him fix”

“The most helpful garage I’ve been to in ages. They helped me save a couple hundred on a minor problem when I was in a pinch and they could’ve easily upcharged for it. I’ll definitely be back!”

“So, I just wanted to give a shout out to Boyd Motor Werks for outstanding service. After a few years of getting gouged at the BMW dealerships I came across Boyd Motor Werks and never went back.A perfect example of the difference was a couple of years ago when my thermostat failed. Had I gone to a dealership I'm sure they would have convinced me to replace the water pump at the same time which would have costed me hundreds of dollars more. Eric insisted this was not necessary. I knew then and there that this was an honest shop.BMW's are great cars but they need scheduled maintenance if you want them to last. And to be frank, they aren't the cheapest vehicles to maintain. I think you will find you this shop to be highly skilled at what they do and you won't leave feeling you have been violated like I used to feel every time I left a BMW dealership. Prost to Eric and his crew!”

“Ken and Patty are amazing!! I'm sure the rest of the staff is amazing as well. If you are looking for an honest mechanic look no further ? I took my Saturn VEU in and they honestly told me it's probably not worth fixing the problem I had getting in through Oregon DEQ. I paid $900 for the car and the repair was a little over $2,000 and they honestly told me it's only a 50/50 it will fix the problem. HONEST AND RELIABLE ??”

“We received excellent service and the work was done very promptly and professionally. We had a big dent in the driver’s side door that made the door difficult to close. There were also some repairs needed to the front fender. The bid we received from Comfort Auto was about $1,000 less than the other bid we received. The vehicle was finished in a little more than a week. We are delighted with the service. The vehicle looks brand new!!Services: Painting”

“Absolutely exceptional service, friendly office personnel, was very professional, and knowledgeable. This shop was able to reprogram a module that a very close dealership was NOT able to do correctly! They were able to describe to me the error that I was experiencing because of an inattentive dealership install. If you have any concerns about the services this company provides, I would highly recommend them above seeking out service from a dealership. KUDOS to a local business that still puts the customer above all.”

“FINALLY: A Quality Auto Service BusinessMost car owners have at least one horror story (maybe more) about over-priced poor quality auto repair service. (Or ‘no quality’ because the paid for work was never done!!) As a victim of such unbelievably horrible treatment by my prior mechanic I went in search of a business I felt I could rely upon.Enter Todd’s Automotive. And what a wonderful experience to have.Quality work, careful and thorough diagnostic assessments of what needed to be done and, at my request for budgeting purposes, provided an itemized description of all the work needed in priority of importance order to correct. After such disgusting treatment previously a breath of fresh air arrived with Todd’s. Their AAA certification and customer reviews were the impetus to my choosing Todd’s and I am so glad I did. Give them an opportunity to help you; you won’t be disappointed.”

“I came in for brake pads and rotors, after calling ahead to set up an appointment and an over the phone estimate. They did a full evaluation and found a few other issues, put it in a digital estimate that was line by line. When I didn't understand what some of the things were they explained with metaphors or even showing me in person what the parts did and why they should be replaced. AND when I asked if they could replace only the brake pads and rotors they did without being pushy about adding anything on. On the estimate was an air filter change, they never brought it up in person to try and sell it or take it out and show me. Really honest feeling shop”

“Brought a 2007 Volvo S60 R partially modified that had check engine lights and Accurate Auto did a great job fixing it and tuning it back so I could pass DEQ and register the car. Joe and the Team are a pleasure to do business with. They keep you in the loop, answer all questions and give you the right quote for the work. I highly recommend them.”
