“I suppose I can't actually speak to the quality of Kevin's work, as every time I've taken a vehicle here with a concern he's pointed out that my car is actually fine. What I CAN speak to is his honestly and integrity. The man has to know from talking to me that I know nothing about cars. I'm sure he realizes I would be the easiest customer in the world to take advantage of. Despite that, he has consistently told me to put my credit card away as he found nothing that needed his services.Suffice to say, I am probably a customer for life.”

“Excellent. After purchasing a used BMW there were things I knew would need to be done to ensure my car's service was up to date. I had called two weeks prior to discuss some of the services offered at PMW and spoke with Niles, his knowledge and experience instantly made me feel in good hands. I later spoke with Ariel who is very professional and we arranged a time to bring my BMW in for service. From the moment I walked in I knew I made the right decision, Emily greeted me with a lovely smile and excellent customer service. Before the work was done everything was clearly communicated. I feel relieved to have a business that I trust to service my BMW. I am very thankful for the level of professionalism I experienced. I will recommend PMW to anyone who is looking for attention to detail, high standard of excellence, and the best customer service in the business.Update:PMW is awesome and they take care of business! I appreciate their kindness. Big thank you to the team.”

“LOVE THIS SHOP!!! I can't say enough good things about this service shop and the family that owns/works it. My sister and I were going to embark on a coast to coast road trip in a 23 year old truck. I knew that the truck had brake issues, which is why we had it towed into Cooke's Brake Service. Pat offered to look the truck over for any other issue that it might have that could cause us trouble on our trip. They worked with our tight time schedule and fix a couple other issues that helped us to have a most enjoyable and trouble free trip. Bill let us know that if we ran into trouble on our way that we could call any of them for advice. What an incredible comfort that was to us. Great shop and amazing people. What more can I say other than the price was more than fair and the work exemplary!”

“Had to get an oil change at Armstrong VW and was told i also needed brakes. They said my brakes were at a 1 and were grinding "metal on metal." they quoted me $765 for the fronts. So I took my car to my preferred VW repair shop, Precision Motor, and was quoted around $550-600$for the same job. They inspected my brakes and to my surprise I DONT NEED BRAKES! i was nowhere near a 1! Thank you for the honesty and amazing service! I have 2 VWs and they will continue to be serviced by this great shop!”

“It was kind of an accident...I wasn't planning it when I drove past the open bay at Maxim Auto Care. But I stopped. The front "skirt" on my 2014 Ford Escape was falling off--the plastic connectors worn out.It was a total cold call. The mechanic was just finishing up another car. What happened next was so unexpected and refreshing: Vitaliy, the mechanic, put my car up, showed me the problem, fixed it with an ingenious hack and sent me off.WOW. Beep, beep-- Not a Corporate Auto Shop but a kind and capable guy who can fix a car!!”

“West Coast Overland is my go-to shop for any Land Rover needs. Bryce did the pre-purchase inspection on my LR3 when I purchased it 5 years ago, and he and his team have been working on it any time I am in need. They are honest people that are passionate about what they do, and I have always felt well taken care of. If you are looking for a Land Rover mechanic in the Portland/Vancouver area, then West Coast Overland is the place to go.”

“Short version: Over a seven year period, Martin missed one issue, the motor and transmission mounts. That was the only thing he missed in 7 years. He caught the rest, and he didn't break my car. He likes to repair cars. I can't say the rest for the Portland area. I hope the next one can finally finish the oil pan. Still have my Honda though. 125 K and not going anywhere. I've meant to leave this review since I met Martin when he opened his shop outside of his home. He is now on Johnson Creek Blvd. I liked him, because he was polite, to the point, and didn't waste my money. Other mechanics shamed me for use of aftermarket, and he told me that was bs and to save for real repair, of which there are plenty. He was correct. Over the years, I had many things done on my Honda. Beats buying a new car. I love my 1999 Honda Accord DX. He always fixed my car, and he never caused damage. I can't say that for other mechanics in Portland. Unfortunately, the pandemic caused issues for me and for Martin. In October of 2020, I heard this odd noise in the car. He looked it over and did an oil change. Nothing was wrong. He looked again upon request and the lower ball joints were done along with the drive belts. Maintenance stuff. The noise persisted, and he really doesn't like replacing parts, and he's right about not replacing btw. After we talked, and I was sick and very panicked from the virus, he agreed that it could be the shocks/struts and would do that, and the timing belt, which was 11 years old. We sort of lost sight of that, but he did examine it regularly. I never had an issue. I left but didn't want to have the work done there, because I felt like he didn't think it was the issue. I regret that moment of taking it to another place. They didn't hear it either and they damaged my car in a few ways when they did the timing belt, shocks, and struts. Martin ended up fixing their mess. The noise persisted, and he couldn't hear it. I took it to another place, and they found the issue. It was the engine mounts and the transition mount. They installed high-quality, aftermarket, but also, damaged the car. It vibrated like mad, leaked coolant, and accelerator pedal was stuck. I went back to Martin, and he said there was no noise. He had the car a few times for days to try to hear it. He never did. The last time, I came in and he said he would do an inspection. I hadn't realized that meant full paid inspection. Had I known, I wouldn't have done it that day. He found a leak but didn't hear or feel the vibration, which was obvious to me. It was $50 to fix the leak. I said "no." I had been allowed to decide on repairs. I was at a point where I had spent over $3K and it was still shaking. My 22-year-old was not comfortable in the car she had loved. Then, Martin told me I'd have to pay him about $150 (not sure) for the check. I told him that I wasn't going to pay him, and he told me that was fine, that I could pick up the car, and not return. I actually am not judging. I wish I had allowed him to fix the leak and just waited. He would have heard the noise eventually. I think we both had issues at this time. A perfect storm situaion. Perhaps, Hondas of this age sound noisy a lot. I couldn't drive it due to my inner ear issues though. I took it to another place and it has been fixed. OEM Honda mounts and that was the issue from the beginning. I won't add to the story. There is more. I will say that I wish I could go back and just wait until the noise became a little louder. I heard sliding of the engine and the thunk on start up, but I just needed to wait or record it. Hard to do. Martin is a very good mechanic, who doesn't waste your money. I don't know why he missed it this once, but I have known him since about 2013, and he's the only one I can recommend in Portland. That's true even if I am not able to be a client any longer. I don't blame myself, but I wish we could have worked it out. I would have loved to have him fix”

“The most helpful garage I’ve been to in ages. They helped me save a couple hundred on a minor problem when I was in a pinch and they could’ve easily upcharged for it. I’ll definitely be back!”

“So, I just wanted to give a shout out to Boyd Motor Werks for outstanding service. After a few years of getting gouged at the BMW dealerships I came across Boyd Motor Werks and never went back.A perfect example of the difference was a couple of years ago when my thermostat failed. Had I gone to a dealership I'm sure they would have convinced me to replace the water pump at the same time which would have costed me hundreds of dollars more. Eric insisted this was not necessary. I knew then and there that this was an honest shop.BMW's are great cars but they need scheduled maintenance if you want them to last. And to be frank, they aren't the cheapest vehicles to maintain. I think you will find you this shop to be highly skilled at what they do and you won't leave feeling you have been violated like I used to feel every time I left a BMW dealership. Prost to Eric and his crew!”

“We received excellent service and the work was done very promptly and professionally. We had a big dent in the driver’s side door that made the door difficult to close. There were also some repairs needed to the front fender. The bid we received from Comfort Auto was about $1,000 less than the other bid we received. The vehicle was finished in a little more than a week. We are delighted with the service. The vehicle looks brand new!!Services: Painting”

“I took my Ford Transit Connect to Advanced Transmission. From the first conversation I had with Steve I knew this was going to be a great experience. He took the time to talk with me and get the whole story behind my transmission issues. When I told him I was in somewhat of a hurry to get my van fixed because I had to leave in two weeks for a bike race I was participating in halfway across the country he assured me it would be done in time. He is one of the nicest guys I've ever met and I could tell he was genuine in his word. He hires really good workers who are also very nice and will do whatever it takes to make your experience a good one. I couldn't be happier, my van is still going strong, and there is no other place I would ever take a vehicle for transmission repair. Thank you Steve!!”

“My family has come to rely upon Heckmann & Thiemann Motors exclusively for the skill, timeliness, and value it delivers in servicing and maintaining our small fleet of Mercedes Benz vehicles. Front desk personnel always listen to our concerns, openly share recommended services to maintain safety and reliability, and always offer a competitive value. For those of us in the business world--who travel frequently--total cost of ownership (TCO) is a metric much more valuable than a singular transaction. While having our vehicles routinely serviced by Heckmann & Thiemann Motors, we've performed six cross country drives and not once have we experienced a service related issue. Safety, reliability, and trust are priceless. As a customer, nothing makes one feel more valued than when the business knows you by name. Value is reciprocal. I am happy to leave a glowing review, and wholehearted recommendation of your business and services. Kindly, G. J.”

“Kwan and his team were referred to me by a good friend who’s family has been customers for years. They’re just the best. They’ve worked on my ancient old PT Cruiser for several years now. Went to Meineke instead once because I couldn’t get in the same day. I used to use them before I discovered All Car Care and they were okay. That day they charged me over $150 for an estimate that was not only completely wrong -it was apparently going to be over 1,000 dollars. The whole thing just didn’t feel right and I took it to Kwan the next day. I got a call a couple hours later-It was a loose hose — he didn’t charge me a dime for the repair. I will never go anywhere else again!!! My car is over 17 years old now and still runs like a top!”

“Just bought a car from Valerie Solid at Subaru of Portland. She did a great job, finding a car that worked for me and for my budget. I felt like she really listened to what I wanted and needed. Texted me one morning to say she felt she had found the car for me and she was right! She and Keith Mayers worked together and made the process pretty simple. Thanks again, Valerie!”

“We had an easy trip to Xpresso lube today. I had been taking my car to the Toyota dealer for all its service until the whole Covid situation. I have been staring at the maintenance light for a while knowing it was time for an oil change. It was very straightforward. The young men working were friendly. They have several kinds of oil changes each at $10 more than the basic one. It was $80 for the oil change Minion #1 told me to get ( I was baffled by the synthetic vs. regular oil). It included checking all the levels and tires and stuff, and I guess its supposed to include a carwash but it was pouring so we didn't bother with that. The oil change was quick, they offered us a $125 fuel injection service ( we said no), and we were in and out quickly. Their waiting room is nice, clean, with lots of seating. Looks like they were about to holiday it up as there were decorations sitting in bags and boxes in a corner. It has an espresso machine, i don't know if they sell drinks or not. We already had Black Rock with us. Easy peasy.I bet they have coupons in local mailers though, I would look for that next time.”

“I was in a bind and needed some repairs to my truck. I hadn't used their service before and based on the reviews I decided to go for it. I'm glad that I did, Harley and his crew fixed everything in a very short amount of time and at a lower price than I expected. I have a new mechanic that I can trust and I will be back! Telling all my friends about this gem of an auto shop. Thanks again!”

“My truck was having multiple electrical issues, I messed with it trying to fix it myself and ended up needing to tow it and couldnt get it started.... The dealership was 2 weeks out and i needed my truck asap.. I cold called A & M, Jr answered the phone and got me in the same day. The service was fast, transparent, very fair and reasonable. With having kids, time is important and this shop was fast! So fast that I asked if he could do additional work with the extra time I had. Some shops don't communicate well, Jr was very easy to get ahold of and I was let know about the status of my repair multiple times. I will be coming back.Services: Oil change”

“I'd always recommend Multnomah Chevron - I've been bringing my cars here for years: two different Hondas and a Subaru. They are careful and precise. Jason at the front desk explains any problems clearly, and he'll give you cost estimates up front. This is not a dirt cheap shop - you get what you pay for: good service, timely updates, clear description of issues, excellent mechanics.Service: General repairs & maintenance”
