“My favorite bookstore in town - pretty good selection! The staff are helpful when I need to order any books they don’t have in stock and the cafe upstairs is a great spot to read and work :)”

“Wonderful used bookstore complete with cat. Very personable proprietor who loves books. I recommend stopping by and taking time to enjoy. A candystore if you enjoy curling up with a book.”

“Wonderful couple opened last year and what a bookstore they have put together. I came in and asked for a bit of an obscure book and they had it. Prices are really a bit inexpensive so much that I left a couple dollars extra. The customer service was worth more than the price of the book. If you are a reader and book lover Village Books is for you.

“I can spend hours in this store. I have done a lot of business with them over the years. Over two decades, in fact. But lately I’ve been unhappy with the amount of credit I get (or don’t, as the case may be) for my books. I’m also finding everything is marked up to top dollar and it’s more often out of loyalty to buying local that I don’t just order what I’m after off ABE. One likes to feel in a used bookstore that you can find some real deals. Less and less here, I’m afraid. Still and all, great selection and atmosphere.”

“This is always our favorite shop to visit for gifts when we're in Ashland. The staff, especially Marie, her mother and brother, are always so friendly and welcoming. There are many great items to choose from. Whether you're looking for gifts for kids, your garden, stickers, outdoor related items or beautiful pillows. The location so close to downtown is also excellent.”

“All I can say is WOW! You will be amazed by their extensive selections of books, audiobooks and DVD's here. They hold many events and sales too. Their variety of many different types of literature is significant. My favorite is their vast selection of UFO's and Alien material. If you are like me, and have binged every Alien/Bigfoot documentary streaming has to offer, this place will be right up your alley with much more than you could ever imagine of new and interesting materials to view and read. They have much more to offer than you would even imagine so I would encourage anyone to go in and check it out and meet their awesome staff and support this local business!”

“I will be traveling in Austria and Slovenia this fall. Customer support was above and beyond. I got plenty of books to choose from and links to maps that weren't in stock. In addition. relevant travel advice from associate's experience.”

“Quaint little shop with books stacked to the ceiling with nooks and crannies to sit and browse the selection. The owners are very sweet and helpful. I have spent a lot of time and money here. The prices are all over the place, but it seems to average at $6-$10 per paperback, if it's a popular series it will certainly be near $10 or higher. I recently traded a series of books and was shocked by the store credit I received. I traded a new series of popular books that are hard to get second hand. The series is so new it's still being sold in big book stores for $60. I received $1 store credit per book. I couldn't even get an older $6 paperback I found with that credit. I understand that's how they make money but I am still disappointed. I will now only come here to buy used. I would have rather donated to the library for that price, that way I could at least check them out again.”

“Magical little bookstore ✨️ targeted for children but great little treasures for all. Check out the vault in the back with YA and Fantasy! It was lile walking into a little forest cove.”

“What a beautiful vibration this space holds. Eclectic, magickal, spiritual healing are a few words that come to mind. Good pricing on literature. Definitely recommend. This place has something for almost everyone. A huge variety of tarot decks also.”

“This place deserves a thousand 5 star reviews. So often have I stopped by to find books I’ve been looking for and they have it - for 1$! If you live in the area go support this amazing spot and fill your own library. Thanks to all the amazing volunteers!”

“This is a small bookstore compared to the other bigger Oregon Universities. However, that does not bother me. This bookstore has a lot of merchandise—but it can also be a little pricey. However, I like that they do have a lot of nice items on sale and I like that they have different payment options. I do feel the in-person bookstore has a lot more than online…but then again, I should understand that the current students should have first pick at clothing, hats, and materials they like. I just wish I lived closer so I can go to the bookstore randomly… as I do love the institution I graduated from. I know it may sound cliché, but I really did meet a lot of nice people here that I will never forget…and this is technically by definition, my second home. With that being said, I hope one day to maybe…if I am lucky…have a little vacation home in Ashland :)”
