“RVML is so much more than a library - it's one of the most unique community spaces in Southern Oregon, and it exists because Jordan Pease had the vision and the tenacity to make it happen. What started over 20 years ago has grown into one of the largest collections of its kind anywhere, and Jordan has kept it accessible, welcoming, and genuinely useful throughout.
The Tuesday night lecture series is free and consistently thought-provoking. It's also a fantastic place to meet new people. The Media Exchange lets anyone trade books and DVDs without even being a member. A $30 annual membership gets you unlimited borrowing from thousands of titles you simply won't find anywhere else. It's a great place to donate your books and media!
But what really sets RVML apart is the culture Jordan has built around it — curious, open, non-judgmental. Whether you're a longtime member or just wandering in off Ashland Street for the first time, you feel like you belong there. Ashland is lucky to have this place, and we are all lucky to have Jordan.”
“I Was looking for a specific toy for my granddaughter. And a woman helped us for quite a while.She hunted everywhere and she finally found one!! I was so excited.She was very good and stayed with the project even though it was a very busy store at the time we were there. I also bought a puzzle that was very unique, enjoyed doing it! I told the manager about the woman that helped us.She didn't seem to care at all. But I certainly did”
“This is a wonderful non-profit bookstore! You can donate your books here and you know they will do everything they can to keep them out of a landfill. This is the only place I donate books now. After you donate, you can add to your book collection! Books are more than fairly priced. The store is lovely and well organized. All the volunteers are friendly and helpful.”
“This is a small bookstore compared to the other bigger Oregon Universities. However, that does not bother me. This bookstore has a lot of merchandise—but it can also be a little pricey. However, I like that they do have a lot of nice items on sale and I like that they have different payment options. I do feel the in-person bookstore has a lot more than online…but then again, I should understand that the current students should have first pick at clothing, hats, and materials they like. I just wish I lived closer so I can go to the bookstore randomly… as I do love the institution I graduated from. I know it may sound cliché, but I really did meet a lot of nice people here that I will never forget…and this is technically by definition, my second home. With that being said, I hope one day to maybe…if I am lucky…have a little vacation home in Ashland :)”
