“Visiting Portland with my trusty Roadini when my devilish cup and cone bottom bracket decided to stop staying snug. They fixed me up and got me rolling again in minutes! Very friendly shop with lots of fun goodies to throw on your bike or your person. Thanks Golden Pliers! That boogie woogie bottom bracket was stressing me out!?”
“I was so impressed with The E-bike Store! They are very intentional about which bikes they sell, only carrying the ones that have the best warranties and user friendly companies to work with. Andrew, who worked with us was amazing! I can’t remember ever talking with a more knowledgeable and personable sales person anywhere ever. He loves his job! He went with us to test drive several bikes over flat & bumpy streets and a little hill so we could put the different bikes through their paces. He gave us lots of tips and suggestions. He even recommended a place for lunch! If you go, ask for Andrew!”
“When I went to check tyre pressures on grandson’s bike for the Portland Pedal Palooza “Kick OFF” Ride today, I found his rear tyre slashed! After hitting the first bike store with no luck - I let my fingers “do the walking” and found these guys at No Po Bike Works ( on N Killingsworth (NOT NE!))! GREAT FIND! Not only did they have the right size tyre & tube, but they promptly mounted it on the wheel (at a very reasonable price) in time for us to make it to the start of the ride! Thank you guys!
GREAT SERVICE! Great price!”
“Deciding to switch to e-bikes and having multiple brands, models and stores to choose from, my wife and I were lucky to eventually find and work with both Chase and Alex at this location.Extremely knowledgeable and patient with us, both of these guys took the time to answer all our questions and help us find the perfect bike for our needs. Before you make any final decisions, stop by and speak with either of these two professionals. They know their business and really care about you making the right decision.”
“Marlainna, Angelena, and Liz were all very helpful and knowledgeable helping me get set up with a Tern Vektron with all the accessories. Very happy with the entire shop's service and my purchase! I think folding bikes are criminally underrated, it's amazing that they're now available with electric assistance”
“Andy the the team at Evo Portland come with the best customer experience and service in the industry. Awesome to know Portland has a store and a shop it can count on!”
“Owen provided excellent customer service. From the moment I walked in he was not pushy answered all my questions. Walk me through the bike at purchase. Perfect!”
“From rocky start to smooth finish.
Left 2 bikes for some repairs. Was given a done by date. On that day we called to check and we told ‘Do NOT call us! We will text you when they are done’ Needless to say I wasn’t impressed. After another full week we finally got a message that the bikes were finished. When we picked them up we politely complained to the manager and told him how unprofessional that experience had been. He not only apologized, but comped the work. Went from ‘I will never come here again!’ To ‘I’ll be back.’ It was stellar customer service.”
“Thank you Stephan for taking the time to help me find the right helmet for my daughter. Bringing over a little mirror so she could see how she looked in it was the cherry on top. You care and it shows. Thank you”
“Fantastic shop! Bob was super helpful. I took in my bike for a flat and he refitted my chain for free just because he noticed it was off. He was also able to sort out a battery issue that I had that I hadnt even gone in to have fixed. 10/10 service. Will be the only shop that I use going forward.”
“I recently went here looking for a bicycle and the employee’Matthew’ was very helpful! I had gone to a different bike shop right before and the person working there was dismissive and just walked away after telling them what I was looking for and their used bikes had rusty chains and bolts. NwPro’s used bikes were all in refurbished condition and the employees were very attentive, knowledgeable and helpful!”

“Last week, I was desperate to find a light road bike. My all-in-one touring bike weighted me down, and left me behind on club bike rides. I struggled to keep up on those rides, and worried that I would miss a key turn and get lost. And, I missed fun conversations with fellow riders.
Eric, assistant manager, let me test ride a used road bike (not even asking for a driver's license). I bought it on the spot, as the price was so reasonable. Eric immediately replaced brake pads and a brake cable, at no cost. A week later, I returned with a bent spoke. Again, Eric fixed the spoke (at no cost).
I have since returned for affordable accessories, and witnessed great service to other customers in the store. Club rides are much more fun, thanks to this purchase and mechanical support from Southwest Bicycles.
Scott and Eric make a great bike repair and sales team. And, Southwest Bicycles is open 7 days a week!”
“The REI at Bridgeport recommend Fat Tire Farm when they told me they couldn't service my 19-year-old Giant Rainier's front suspension fork that was seeping oil.
Location & Parking:
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Parking lot is in front of Fat Tire Farm; it's easy to locate and access. Safe neighborhood. As someone who lives 45 minutes away by car, this was a big plus!
Quality of Work:
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Replaced the front fork, after determining that repair of the existing fork wasn't an option, for a price that seemed fair and reasonable. I felt very confident about the work being done.
Customer Service:
⭐⭐⭐
Separately, both the sales associate and the mechanic suggested I purchase a new bicycle. I also didn't appreciate being handed the old front fork back that was still seeping oil when I picked up the bike. Either recycle it for the customer or drain the oil and place it in a bag. Other than those two complaints, customer service was great.”
“Don’t let all the beautiful vintage frames and parts fool you, they’ll work on your modern bike as well. They’re happy to educate and talk shop, no gruff mechanic attitude. Great service!”
“Big thanks to the team at Joe Bike! We stopped by yesterday on a whim as I was having some issues with my gravel bike. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted and told someone would be with us shortly. The staff are super friendly, attentive, and really accommodating.
The store itself is really well stocked with quality bike gear from well-known brands, bar tape, panniers, bags, bars, and more. They also mentioned they can order specific parts if needed, which is great to know.
I ended up getting a quick derailleur service, which only cost $15 and was done in under 30 minutes while we chilled outside with a soda. They even took a quick look at my boyfriend’s bike as he had a small gear issue.
Great service, we’ll definitely be back soon for some bike upgrades. Such a great addition to the local bike community!”
“Mark & Lewis have been a gem to work with. Sold me a delightful Pivot Firebird and some road wheels. Fair pricing, great passionate folks, and integrity (apparent in how they speak of others deemed competition).”
“I really enjoyed my bike fitting experience, it was very thorough and thoughtful in a beautiful space. As a newer cyclist, I was particularly grateful for the learnings I received on getting power out of my pedal stoke, my posture, getting the most out of my bike, and potential muscle/flexibility imbalances that will impact my ride. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to feel 100 times more comfortable on their bike. Thank you Michael and Brian!”
“I bought a Vvolt last year and since then it has become my primary mode of transportation. It's so fun to ride and I can get most places in about the same amount of time it'd take in a car, especially when you factor in time finding parking.
I had an issue with my battery recently. The Vvolt team was responsive and quickly worked to get me back on the road. It made me glad I paid a bit more to buy a locally made bike, rather than buying online.”
“I’ve been here twice and still haven’t purchased anything, but both times I was treated extremely well. Super knowledgeable and very helpful folks.
This is a small business run for riders by riders. If you can’t get in touch with them right away — keep trying. They are worth tracking down and they deserve your local business.
Can’t wait to come back in to order my new bike tomorrow!”
“Ive never had an issue ordered many times over the years, even if you dont like the owners attitude and customer service skills they have the best selection of track/fixed gear parts in the USA period no other US based shop beats them there a one stop shop”
“Disappointed in myself for not leaving a review after all these years of coming here. This shop is a fixtures in the local community, and I am so grateful for the honest, and attentive work they provide. Thanks, Dave!”
“The fact that I’ve yet to review this place is insane. To have such a place here in Portland has been amazing. Great selection, and, did I mention the staff? Super friendly, always accommodating, chatty, helpful. I’ve had zero issues shopping at BTD over the last 5 years. It’s just a great place to get what ya need, and they are a local biz that support the local scene ya know what I mean?! Plus they are always so kind to my doggo when I swing her through (Maple Bar!). I can’t recommend this place enough. They have all the bags you could need!
It IS a retail shop, they DO NOT do bike service/maintenance.”
“Great folks running a great quality, super fairly priced, inclusive and kind bike shop. It doesn't get better than this spot- this is a bike shop for the people. Nothing super fancy or fussy- just quality mechanics, great service and a mission to get everyone out on a bike!
This will be my shop going forward. Highly recommend.”
“This shop was so accommodating with my schedule and unique shipping situation when I was in town and found a bike I wanted to get back home. They were also quick to answer all of my questions. I ended up buying a bike there and they had great insight and suggestions for care, fit, etc. Was very happy overall.”
“I took my bike out for the first ride of the season and wound up getting a flat. Luckily, this shop was only 5-6 blocks away. Getting a tire replaced was quick and easy. ”
“The team at Trek Portland Westmoreland were extremely helpful. I had a short time window repair and they went out of their way to help, coordinating the purchase and shipment of a fork and then the transfer of a wheel from another shop. Actually, I have worked with three Trek shops recently and all had superlative customer service! Cheers Trek!”
