Surf Dog Swim Spa
2202 E Moreland Rd, AbingtonWe took our 3-year-old German Shepherd here because he had a fear of getting in water past his chest. He had a prior experience where he jumped in a pool and scared himself. Jim helped him completely change his outlook on swimming. By the third lesson, our dog was ready to leap in the pool and by the fourth lesson we could barely get his collar off. He went from being afraid of the water to dragging us in the building and leaping in the pool himself. This is a great workout for high-energy dogs and he absolutely loved playing ball in the pool.
Jim is very patient, helpful, and very much a dog-lover. He treated our dog with care and made him absolutely love swimming! Jim is a great dog swim instructor! We will definitely be going back in the future. I would HIGHLY recommend whether it be for general exercise or physical therapy. So glad we found this place!

First Watch
1423 Old York Rd, AbingtonAlways bustling and busy yet the staff is attentive and courteous. Easy website to put your name on the waitlist but don't trust the posted wait times. High energy and medium to loud background noise. Food, juices and coffees are always delicious. Enjoyed blueberry pancakes, paid a little extra for real maple syrup and the special double bacon parmesan hash. Delicious!

Señor Salsa
1301 Old York Rd, AbingtonThis placed surprised me in the best way! I am from Southern California so my standards are high for Mexican food, but this cute little spot is a GEM! The fresh salsa and guacamole with the warm fresh tortilla chips were a great appetizer. The decor is very much the vibe you'd want, complete with tile floors and heavy wooden chairs. I ordered the chicken tacos and they were delicious, with very generous portions for a good price. Margaritas come in generous portions as well - if I'm ever in the area again I would absolutely go back!

Montgomery County SPCA
1006 Edge Hill Rd, AbingtonI adopted a dog at the beginning of the pandemic when things were pretty chaotic. The SPCA handled the transition about as well as anybody did during that time and we were able to schedule a visit to meet 2 potential dogs. Everything went smoothly and we took our new dog home that day (sadly, he just passed away after 4 wonderful years with us, as he was older when we adopted him).Edit: a few days ago I returned and had another wonderful experience with adopting again. I put in an application online and was called about a week later (I believe this is because the dog was on a stray hold, so I was called as soon as the hold expired). We had to wait to be able to take him home because he had to be neutered, but we were able to visit the dog a couple of times in between the time we adopted him and were able to take him home. Staff were pleasant and friendly every time.
