You would never find expertise the way you do here at a large chain store!! The woman who helped us literally knew everything and it was such an easy process. I also happened to walk in during a midday rush and she was able to manage 3-4 people all at once without skipping a beat which I know must have been a challenge! Shop local it’s worth it!”
“I had taken my Mother to see Mr. Hugh Gbewonyo for unbalanced gait and severe painful arthritis. He greeted her with kindness and was very professional. After scanning her foot he explained what was happening to her anatomically as she walks. He custom designed orthotics and appropriate footwear. She felt "like she had new feet" and could not thank him enough for the support and encouraging words. God bless this young man. P.s. he has a newspaper article posted that further speaks of his skill and his journey into this field. Thank you Mr. Gbewonya.”

“I love this place! I first discovered it a couple of years ago when I needed good running shoes, and I’ve been going back ever since. This year, I even took both of my kids to the store. The staff is knowledgeable and sweet. They really know their stuff and do it well.Before you’re measured, they ask you to walk normally to assess your gait. Then, they measure your feet and offer a selection of three different brands to choose from. If you have a preference for a specific brand, you can discuss it with the store rep.I like to ask a lot of questions about running shoes, and I always get great answers. There’s never any pressure to buy the most expensive shoes or anything like that. I highly recommend this store to all runners. It’s a great experience every time!”
“Best shoe store around ??Dan gives the highest quality of customer service. Took my daughter to Got em Kicks for the first time and Dan treated my daughter like family. Highly professional and respectful, he took the time to comfortably sit my daughter down and measure her feet to give me her exact size and found out my daughter has different sizes on each foot. His store is crazy clean, crazy tech to find all the shoes in ur size, high quality merch for great prices and the decorations in the store is eye catcher while you shop. He gave my daughter a tablet to sit down with and see all the sneaks in her size so he got all my respect and I will go nowhere else to buy sneakers. Store is insane and mind blowing!!!!!!”

“I visited Born To Run in October 2024, after a coworker recommended I check out the store while I was looking for a new pair of running shoes. With Hilary’s (and her sweet dog’s!) help, I bought a pair of Saucony Triumphs. Now that I’ve put some mileage on them over the past months, I’m ready to leave a review.
Having just started running in March 2024 and moving to Philadelphia from out of state in August 2024, it’s safe to say that I had absolutely no idea what I was looking for in a new pair of running shoes. My visit to Hilary’s store was my first time buying a pair of running shoes—before that, I’d just been using my all-around walking shoes. Hilary was generous enough to share her time, knowledge, and expertise with me. First, she had me do a running test to figure out where my feet were striking the ground. Then, she gathered an assortment of many shoes, and guided me through trying them on. She even educated me about shoe sizing—and I learned that I’d be better off wearing a half size smaller than I was previously used to. I landed on a pair of Saucony Triumphs. Throughout the process, Hilary was friendly and kind. When she learned I’d just moved to Philadelphia from out of state, she even recommended some local running groups I could get involved with to help me find a sense of community with other runners in the area.
Months later, after having run in the Saucony Triumphs for a while, I’m quite happy with my purchase. The shoes took a while to break in, but once broken in, they transitioned into a smooth ride. I’ve been especially pleased with Hilary’s recommendation to go a half size down from what I’d normally wear. I’ve never been known for my athleticism—I’m pretty clumsy and can tend to wobble a bit while running. I’ve found, though, that the half size smaller shoes hold a bit tighter to my foot—while still giving them enough space to breathe—and helps to stabilize me while I’m running. That was quite the pleasant surprise!
All around, I was thoroughly happy with my experience working with Hilary at Born To Run. While I’ve since moved back to the state I originally moved to Philadelphia from, I would support Born To Run again in a heartbeat if I still lived in the area. Keep up the great work, Hilary—you helped this new runner find his way about the trail, and that’s much appreciated!”

“Reminds me of when I grew up in the 1950's. My feet were measured, she listened to me, found the shoes I asked for, and took all the time that was needed to fit my feet properly. She didn't want me to wear them home and suggested I wear them at home on a rug to make sure I liked them and they worked for me. Now that's someone who cares! I also crossed checked her prices and they were spot on. I highly recommend you go to this local shop and invest in yourself for a spectacular experience”

“The staff at this location are very kind, welcoming, and approachable! Not even 5 seconds in the door and I was greeted with a compliment on my head wrap☺️. I found everything I was looking for quick and easy, and was especially happy with my size being in stock. There were staff members on the floor and ready to help if needed, and when it was time to check out, there was not a long wait; I was literally in and out of there in less than 10 minutes. This is my first time at this location, I’d normally go to the Parkside location because I’m from West Philly and it’s just convenient.
