“What a nice gourmet shop this is we were just passing by and had to go in. This is top level gourmet items with a huge selection of smoked fishes. Yes I am vegan but one of the many things I do miss eating is smoked salmon or a bagel toasted with lettuce, tomato, onions, and green peppers. That’s something I would eat once a week forever and as a kid I worked in delis and they have something that I haven’t had in years and I had to get some and that was Halava The nice lady in the store gave us a few samples to taste you’ll see in the pictures. It brought back such memories. We ended up grabbing a gourmet tub of pistachio halava later on evening we shared a few servings and wow it was so delicious. The pistachios on the inside were nice and crispy and the taste just brought back so many memories not easy to find things like this sometimes so now I know where to go.”

“Matt and Mike’s Italian Market is the best place in South Philly! I love their Italian Specialty Hoagies on Sarcone’s Bread! I’ve been coming here since I was a child, picking up groceries with my grandmother. Now, I take my child there. My grandmother, Cathy, has been a loyal customer since the beginning. Matt and Mike have grown as a family and witnessed generations grow.
I see some reviews on here about “scams” or people’s “card number” being used, but these guys are real honest and solid people. I’ve never had any type of transaction fraud my whole life of knowing them. These are some good men who work hard to provide for their families. I highly recommend Matt & Mike’s Italian Market!!”

“This is a wonderful family market with quite a few excellent items that are hard to find a United States. I got Wheaten flour, marmite, digestives with DARK chocolate, and some wonderful looking mustards. They also have lots of Irish sweets. The lady behind me was all over the crisps. It’s worth a visit if you appreciate Irish food. The staff was very helpful. I hear they get a lot of good stuff in at Christmas time. I’ll have to come back and check. It was definitely worth the drive.”

“Great local grocery store, always good produce and friendly staff. This place just has a really nice vibe.
Only downside is that the parking lot is too small and can be a problem, so I make a point of only coming here when it’s not busy.
Also would be great if opening hours were extended”

“I lost my wallet on November 20th and didn’t think I would ever see it again. That was my first time there. I went to get lamb chops and my husband loved them. A young lady called me from Royal meats and ask my name I said yes. She asked me did I lose something I said yes my wallet. She said I have it. I was so excited I forgot to ask her name. When we got there we were wondering how she found me. She said she called a lot of numbers before she found me. Everything was there. I thank God it is still good people in the world. They get 10 stars for taking the time to find me. I will forever shop there for my meats. The prices were unbelievable. “While not a full fledged supermarket in many regards, it is great for picking up Japanese delicacies and more focused on Japan for those into the culture. Go to H-Mart for more of a general Asian supermarket, but you can't go wrong with the Japanese focus here if you want more specific.”
