“Absolutely LOVE this location. My wife and I visit every couple of weeks. The employees are always very helpful and knowledgeable. The selection is very impressive, especially their manga/graphic novel section. They also have a decent size board game section. With the ever-dwindling selection of independent book stores, Barnes and Noble does its best to fill the gap and provide a clean, quiet book store.”

“Love the Narberth Bookshop! It is so nice to have a book shop to stop into and browse in downtown Narberth, and I now buy all of my books from this delightful store. They are so nice about special orders, but also have had every non-obscure major title I've wanted on the shelf. I highly recommend it.”

“I absolutely adore this store and have been a frequent shopper since we moved to the area last year. The staff are AMAZING! They are so sweet and accommodating and hugely helpful when finding books or toys. I buys all of my kids toys here and they LOVE this store. The selection is incredible and perfectly curated to have wonderful options for everyone (especially diverse selection of POC authors!). The owner is fantastic and has saved us TWICE when my son left his lovey in her store. She knows my name and is so kind every time we go. Honestly nothing beats supporting this incredible local business. This sweet women even put his lovey in a bag with my name on it when she found it because she recognize that it was my sons. 100 stars ?”

“Books Through Bars does excellent work in sending free book packages to inmates in Pennsylvania and surrounding states. They're completely volunteer-run & host volunteering sessions for people to help pick/pack books. Volunteer organizers are friendly and helpful. I highly recommend volunteering there! You can just drop in & spend 30 minutes or a few hours, whatever you like. Whenever I volunteer there, it feels like I'm really making a difference in someone's life -- because I am. It's an eye-opening experience that gives me a new perspective. Books Through Bars also takes donations (money, books they need, supplies) so there are lots of ways to support them even if you can't make it down there in person.”

“There is truly something so special about a bookstore. ?Call me old fashioned, but technology just can’t compare with the feeling of holding a book in your hand and that ever popular “new book smell.”Booked in Chestnut Hill is on the same page with that belief and has created a space for book lovers to unite. From their website:“booked. aims to bring together everything you might love about books—the romance and novelty of them, the doors they open, the conversations they can start, the communities they can build—into a shared space that welcomes readers of all ages and backgrounds. The shop is set up for browsing, reading, and conversation. We welcome you to come in and explore, ask for recommendations, or sit down and open up whatever piques your interest.”Give them a follow at @booked_chestnuthill to be kept up to date of all the fun events and stories they have to tell!Happy reading! ?”

“Field of Dead Horses Nick Allen Brown Harrowood Books Publisher 3943 N. Providence Road, Newton Square, PA 19073 [email protected] 610-353-5585 978-0-915180-24-0 $16.99...333 pages Sandra Heptinstall Sometimes as a reviewer, you may get a book that starts out slow and then book gains momentum and your interest as it goes along. Then there can be books that get you from the first page. This book got me from the start. Elliott Chapel owns a horse farm that his father had started. His dad Paul Chapel was well known in the racing world. He trained thoroughbreds, but after the loss of his wife due to child birth he changed completely. His relationship with his son Elliott is complex and sad. Elliott and his farm manager Booley were out mending fences when they came upon a woman who was bloodied and beaten laying face up in the shadow waters of Penny Creek. Elliott told Booley he would go and call the Sheriff and the doctor to come out to where the woman's body lay. But Booley told Elliott it would be better if he called the people to come out. You see during the time period of this book a black man who was witty, wise and well- read was unusual. It was especially different for a black man to hold the position he did at the ranch. But to the Chapel's, Booley was family. If you like a different type of love story, or if you love horses as I do, then you will love this book. The ending left me with tears running down my face. Hold until further notice. Posted by Whispering Winds Book Reviews and Midwest Book Reviewer”

“I a recent UNCW alumni, and from start to finish have purchased/rented my books from these guys-and not once have I had an issue with them. That said, and with all due respect to the above review, I honestly cannot see how they got such a big chip on their shoulder. The points they brought up are valid concerns, but if they had actually taken the time to ask one of the people who work there (all of whom I have found to be friendly and helpful when help was needed), about them-like I have-then they would have few things to have issue with. I will admit that I have several friends who work there, BUT all this means is that I have more insight regarding their situation. I am not simply covering for them. That said I would like to address the above reviewer and their points. Blocked emails: It is not a matter of "changing" anything. UNCW (specifically the on campus bookstore) has actively blocked all access to course listings, students' emails, and any changes that may be made by a prof. to their course. In short the campus store has done everything in their power to blind them. Why? Well it could be due to the fact that they offer better prices, or if nothing else match it to the penny. Notifications of rentals due: I, and everyone I know of who has rented from them, have been asked for their email for the EXPRESS purpose of notifying them as their rentals come due. Maybe you should, I dunno, check your spam filters? Money grubbing: Like I said before: they will AT THE LEAST match other stores prices-and I'm pretty sure they throw in an extra %10 off as well. Really, they have flippin signs advertising that everywhere. So, my advice to the above reviewer is to GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT before you go smearing the reputation of a good store and the people who work their butts off there. Seriously, you're in college. Are your papers pure conjecture as well?”

“I have had the best customer service from this store! I had tried to order my books for nursing school and the order would not go through. I spoke to Joanne who got the issue resolved quickly and with the BEST attitude. Once the books shipped, UPS lost them (go figure). I called to see what I could do about reordering books and I got Joanne on the phone again (thank God!). Joanne has been so helpful every step of the process and I cannot thank her enough for how amazing she has been to me! Would definitely recommend this store!”

“The place can be expensive however the customer support is great. The person that was helping went above and beyond and was constantly looking and buying the books that I need. When they couldn't get a book for me they made a note so I could show the government and I had to order it online for reimbursement. Overall I am very surprised with the support.”
