“Awesome place owned and ran by awesome people. We will always get the hoagies here for picnics and kennywood.
Love the flowers also. They are the best around. Just go in and look around they have a lot, you won't leave without getting something.”
“This place is awesome and the people there are awesome as well. Nice there are still places like this. Sausage is great as are the stuffed pork chops and smoked pork chops. Steaks are cut right and delicious. Haven't been here go here...”
“I can remember going there as a child. We would visit relatives in Brownsville (Clara & Pete Christoff). We always stopped on the way there or going home to Washington, PA. I loved the smells, the samples, the food (mostly the imported Provolone Cheese!). The older folks would talk in Italian, it was magical. I hope I can visit there again. I so miss those days.(My last name is Paletta).”
“Foodland is everything what a grocery store should be and by far an improved shopping experience over Walmart. Reasonable parking for a reasonable sized neighborhood grocery store. Nothing overwhelming. Inside was well stocked, neat, clean and well organized. My interactions with staff was minimal however the woman in the meat department was friendly, enthusiastic and informative, as were the front end staff who were also friendly and cheerful.
FIVE stars across the board.”

“Very clean store, though aisles and food displays are confusing. The produce section is plopped down in the front center of the store which makes for weird traffic patterns. There's not a clear path to wait for cashier line.
Staff is very friendly and helpful. This Aldi usually has all the Aldi finds in stock.... Maybe because theyre difficult to find in the store ?”
“Make a quick stop in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Got a Reuben sandwich and soup, both were delicious and reasonably priced. Will certainly stop by again.”
“I LOVE this store , the employees are ALL very nice, and the store is very convenient for me , and the items that l buy are ALWAYS fresh , Thank You”
“Prices are great. Store is clean, well lit, neatly arranged and well-posted. Produce is much nicer too. Store overall is much nicer since the store has a new owner. I was well pleased.”
“Owner was very helpful. It was a pleasure to meet him. He answered my questions and made a recommendation when I asked for it. I am very pleased with my purchases and will return when I am in the area. Thank you!”
“I have never went to a giant eagle that had such fine quality meats as the West Newton giant eagle not only are the meats the best meats out of all the giant eagle but the employees that work in the meat department are simply outstanding, helpful, and care about the stuff they are putting out for people to buy They are definitely in that meat department, the A-Team.Eddie and Greg are simply the best meat men ever!!!”
“Cooked foods department has some great tasting chicken pot pies. However, some Giant Eagle's can overbake the pie. Light brown crust is good, no to dark brown crust because the filing is dried out. Fishers Heights Giant Eagle does an excellent job baking them. Price could be better for its size but, it is delicious in my opinion.”
“OMG the best prices yet in our new area! Very clean and organized store. Super friendly and helpful staff!! As a proud polack I loved seeing periogies on an actual isle sign!!!!!!!! ?”
“This store stands out to me because every time I'm there the fruit and produce is fresh, the employees are helpful and informative and their bakery is awesome!!”
“Line is long ....got rite aid script but didn't hire more people. At 3pm the line was past the candy plus I put in for prescription refill days ago and not done”

“I used to order special bagels that only one employee made, but she's no longer there and sad to say no one makes them like she did.... Cakes are good... Get them every year, with whipped icing... All were great except last year it looked like a 3 yr old decorated it... That would of been ok if I bought it on the spot but I ordered it weeks ahead....”
“My grandfather Steve bought his lottery tickets from here for longer than I could possibly remember. He's been gone for over two years now, but I appreciate the effort y'all took to give a retired coal miner something to do in his spare time. Thanks.”
“If you’re biking the great Allegheny bike trail it worth going off it and over the Sutersville bridge, the donuts are made to order, fresh hot and delicious! If you are a diabetic don’t pass this place up , the owners are also very social.”
“For a comparatively small store, it is very well stocked. It's a rare day that I go there for a particular item and can't find it. They carry a wide variety of products and brands and always seem to have plenty of everything. It is sometimes hard to get a sale item late in the week, but that's more on the shopper than on the store. Their prices could be lower, but that's true of the whole chain. If the wide variety of stock is important to you, then you have to pay the price! The staff is always friendly and helpful and it never takes overly long to get through checkout. All in all, a great place to shop.”
“This is a premium store that has been around since I was young. During the holiday Christmas they would put up electric train sets and I loved to go there just to watch them. Some of the same people have been working here forever.
Everyone is friendly they got good deals often. I no longer live near by and don't frequently shop here much unfortunately.”
“Easy to run in and out. Front of store has a little construction going on or something with yellow caution tape up but still can easily run in and grab everything that you need.”

“This GETGO stands out among the numerous spread out in south western the service is fast and very efficient while maintaining the highest quality of products to satisfy any cravings desired!!!”
“Fast, friendly, clean environment. Staff was wonderful, friendly, and helpful. The Roscoe DG has a much better set-up than many of the others I've been in. The aisles are much wider and it's much more organized/cleaner. Saved 30 dollars with my two five dollar off (Saturday) coupons, combined with other digital coupons, which was super convenient and also helpful to my budget. It's a store I actually don't mind going into, unlike others, such as Walmart. I can spend an hour in this store easily, without all of the overcrowding and hostility from other shoppers that I experience in bigger stores. It's much more peaceful, like shopping should be. Sometimes I end up purchasing items I don't even need, just because I'm able to spend the extra time browsing. When I'm at bigger stores like Walmart, I get in and out as fast as possible. I only "browse" at Walmart online because the physical environment is just incredibly intolerable. Grateful for DG with an environment that allows me to shop in peace!”
“This place is absolutely amazing they have more fish then you could ask for whole as well they have goat head, plantains, whole beets and the friendliest staff to ever exist did i mention they also have whole chicken at great prices as a cook ill be coming back here over and over again thank yinz for joining our community and adding a great business”
“I only recently discovered this place and look forward to becoming a regular customer. They have very affordable produce and food items, and the man running it is very sweet. He told me he has lived in Clairton for seven decades, and that he loves being able to bring fruits and vegetables to the residents of Clairton — an area that has been a food desert for decades. The comments disparaging this place are very disappointing. Many people can’t afford fresh produce at grocery stores as it is, especially those in poorer areas around here (case in point: I live near McKeesport and a Shop ‘N Save location that sells limes for a whopping 80 cents apiece). Grant money given to operate this place I assume largely goes towards the overhead that comes with operating a storefront, even one that operates as a nonprofit providing low-cost groceries — and even if the items are largely donated.I hate to break it to some of you, but you can thank capitalism and decades of disinvestment for the reason why Clairton doesn’t have an Aldi or Giant Eagle. Some of you need to be more appreciative of this place and the positive difference they’re trying to make in your community.Sorry, stepping off my soapbox! Not affiliated with this store at all… I’m just a passionate customer who likes to see good things like this happening in the Mon Valley and really hates to see negative reviews that aren’t deserved.”
“I don't know what they do with their staff to make them so happy but I have never run into a staff member that wasn't amazingly friendly. Takes the hassle out of shopping.”
“Not bad. The lack of shopping carts makes it difficult to shop . But they have the essential items and checkout was fast. The employees although stressed were very helpful.”
