Jim Thorpe Pet Center
1592 Center Ave, Jim ThorpeStore owner is very knowledgeable and always available to answer any questions and if he is able to cut it a deal on the price of an item that seems like it's been there a while he does so I know people who have been going to his store for 20 years and it's a pleasure to see he's still able to be up and running I don't like to give my business to anyone else.

Pet-Friendly Restaurants

Notch Eight Craft House
107 Broadway, Jim ThorpeWe walked in a little after 11:30 and the place was absolutely empty, we decided to stay and try it out anyways and by the time we left there were no seats available and some people waiting! There are really only bar stools available to sit, we choose the seats by the window so we could watch the rain falling outside. The food was very good, we all got something different and we all enjoyed what we ordered. I myself ordered the Chicketta chicken sandwhich with fries on the side. It was very filling and the texture of the chicken was crispy and the sauce paired well. The fries were also a great texture and I ended up finishing my entire meal! I would highly recommended this restaurant and if possible try to get there as early as you can so that you can guarantee yourself a place to sit!

The Harry Packer Mansion Inn
19 Packer Hill Ave, Jim ThorpeI came here on a Friday night just to have a drink. I just got into town and I read that this house was The inspiration to the movie, The haunted house by Disney. So I wanted to check it out and then I read that they have a bar in the house open to the public. The house is very cool looking from the outside. It's lit up pretty nice and there's a parking lot half a block away. When you walk in you notice it is a huge old school house like hundreds of years old. And there's a little bar set up in a corner. After you get your drink, you can find a seat somewhere in the house and enjoy your drink. There's also a little board games, a fireplace , and a piano if you choose to play it. I had a great time at this mansion. I think we had about three drinks so I got a nice little buzz on. Also, the bartender was very nice, I do not remember her name but I told her I would be writing a review and she got really happy with that. She also told me a spooky ghost story from one of the rooms in the house. I won't spoil it but it was a good story. I would definitely return to this house for a drink and possibly to stay for the weekend because it is also a bed and breakfast. Also they do a murder mystery weekend there but I did not experience that.

Marion Hose Bar
16 W Broadway, Jim ThorpeOne of the best in JT, Penny; get the rueben spring roll and french fries, if you just want a bite; we walked and ran throughout this town, so I didn't eat heavy; however, the appetizers where very good and the waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable about local stuff.
Walking through town, the architecture does most of the talking. Victorian facades rise tightly along narrow, sloped streets, their proportions unmistakably old-world in a way that feels closer to a European hill town than a modern American one. The Asa Packer Mansion sits above it all, not as a museum recreated for tourists but as a genuine artifact of Gilded Age wealth, preserved almost too well, as if someone closed the door and forgot to return for a century. The train station, the jail, the opera house—all of it remains, not staged, just still in use or quietly repurposed.

Mugglets Mug
79 Broadway, Jim ThorpeThis is one of the few coffee places in Jim Thorpe that had the type of lattes we were looking for! The ambience was spooky and cool, the drink options were unique and the drinks themselves were tasty! I got the "Drought of Pyrus" drink which had pear, vanilla, ginger, cinnamon and sea salt. The milk was well steamed and the flavors were interesting and worked well together. It wasn't too sweet and it did not overwhelm me, I would probably come back to try out their other variety of flavors! The inside itself was also packed however they got us our drinks pretty quickly.
