“Fourth generation hardware store owned by super nice gentleman. They were incredibly helpful and just really cool dudes. Like someone else mentioned, they didn't try to upsell me at all. My purchase was only a few dollars but they treated me as if I was spending hundreds.Hardware stores like this don't exist anymore. If you want to support a small, black owned business that has been in Pittsburgh for decades, come here.”
“The Sales person I think was Scott was very helpful and got me what I wanted without upselling me. Also was very quick. Thedelivery was great too with very nice people.”
“Best local hardware for finding outdated plumbing parts. They also make custom screens and sharpen handsaws, knives, and scissors. If you can't find it in the store, they will find it in their million part dbase. Largest fastener collection I have ever seen in a hardware store. Outstanding service and a knowable staff.”

Their customer service was excellent, and their selection of tile/fixtures/you name it was high quality. Michelle had a lot of experience and a great eye for pairing things together.”
“I love this place! The owners spent a lot of time with us when we stopped in. We are redoing our deck and we needed advice- they were incredibly helpful and very friendly. Very happy to support this business- they’ve been open since the 1930s! Great place!”
“Jim & Cam are both top notch and very responsive. Allegheny Winlectric delivers to the shop daily and sometimes twice. I would recommend them as your go to electrical distributor.”
“Will was a ton of help. He’s a great guy and I would recommend asking for him if you have any questions. He knows the store very well and cares about the customer.”
“Butch and Kelly are some of greatest people I've ever had the privilege of knowing, prices are high on some things, but it's hard to beat that down home good ole hardware store, and great friends.”

515 Grant Ave, Duquesne“Growing up in Duquesne, Schinks was and still remains a family owned and ran hardware store. They literally have anything you made need from garden supplies to being able to get copies of your keys and so much more, too much to list. You also will find from time through the years the Schinks supporting fellow businesses throughout the monvalley. We were just down there a week ago and our 19yr old purchased 'Rockys BBQ Pit' sauce. He bought the hot sauce one, I believe from the label it's from McKeesport. And our family gives it ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.As well as Schinks hardware store ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”
“CTS has the best selection in the area. I came here to purchase auxiliary heaters. It was easy to call in and have a representative find what I needed. Once they found the items pricing was fair and availability was same day. I will continue to use construction tool services for all my tool needs. You can rely on CTS to deliver the goods when you are in need. Thanks again.”

2001 PA-286, Pittsburgh“Stanford Home Center in Plum, PA is our go to store! Not only do they have everything you need for your home, but they do a lot for the community. The owner and staff members are friendly and helpful. They put on a great Christmas event for kids, bringing Santa in and letting the kids talk with him and get a photo. We love that this store is right down the road and we like to support locally owned businesses like Stanford.”

724 Wood St, Pittsburgh“Highly recommend for all of your painting needs! John is extremely knowledgeable and friendly, and they offer quite a few great brands and products that I was unable to find at the big box stores. Definitely my new go to store for projects.”

4960 William Flinn Hwy, Allison Park“Other hardware stores around hire employees that have complete lack of communication skills, complete disregard towards the customers, and a total lack of care for providing any customer service whatsoever. This Home Depot in particular is the exception, I am always treated with respect, and I always receive the quality help and care I need when shopping for all sorts of products. The other stores in the area are so bad that I've gone in, sought help or specific products, and I leave to come to this Home Depot each time, the only one that's worthy.”

3130 William Pitt Way, Pittsburgh“On March 7, 2023, I visited my local Busy Beaver store in Castle Shannon. I should say here that I have never had a bad experience in this store. The representatives have always been helpful, friendly, and professional. On March 7, my cashier was Meegan and she asked if I would need help loading the 4 bags of potting soil I bought on sale. I said, "No, I'd be fine," thanked her and left. When I backed up my car to the stack of potting soil, there was Meegan standing there waving at me. She joked, "I don't listen well" and helped me load the bags in the car. I thanked her and tried to give her a lottery ticket which she declined. Please tell her how much I appreciated her attitude and help.Mike”
“Special thanks to the 2 gentleman that worked there AND the nice customer behind me! I purchased a Traeger grill and those gentleman graciously helped me carry my things out and loaded it in my car! Superb service! Thank you so much!”
“This is a great place to find everything you need to refurb or even build a house. Lumber, tile, furniture, lighting, nails, doorknobs, outdoor stuff, doors, windows, cabinets and random everything! Don't buy new, bring your wish list and measurements and check here first. There is another small shop nearby for donated textiles, art supplies, jewelry, wallpaper, and other cool stuff for crafts and creations. Great community store.”
“Really cool local hardware store, only 5 minute walk from my house and convenient for last minute necessities in projects at home. The owner is very helpful and friendly.”

“Wonderful small business that been around forever. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. There's also a moose head mounted to the wall, original ceilings for the building. Support a local business, you will not be disappointed.”
“These guys are always a great pleasure to work with! My company and theirs do business together on a regular basis, and it is a joy every time I get to chat with these guys. They offer great products, and excellent service!”
“My local Depot, just stepping into this store seems like an adventure, as the fresh lumber smell permeates the entire place. Never at a lack of any supply for home improvement and gardening items, the Home Depot is where I shop for those demands.”
“This shop was just super. I showed up with a faucet part that I needed replaced and they worked their magic. I have absolutely no professional skill or acumen on home repair/plumbing and the staff were very respectful and incredibly helpful. Will definitely be using this as my go-to spot for any faucet related needs.”
7:30AM - 9PM
4743 Plummer St, Pittsburgh“I love busy beaver stores and this is very nice to have in Lawrenceville. They sell anything you may need even if it's not the biggest of their stores. A bonus is that it's rarely too busy. It's also one of the few places where I always find salt in winter when all the other stores around are out.The staff is hit or miss. I have met very good employees and probably a couple that were very slow and dragged out the check out too long. Overall a great place if you don't feel like going to the bigger stores like Home Depot and Lowe's.”
“I had to get paint matched and use a special combo to get it done. I had a teenager in the paint department. He was awesome. He led me in the correct direction. Told me what to get and what to do. It turned out perfect. I thank him immensely!! This was at the new Kensington store.”
“I've gotten faucet parts at Jackson's that aren't carried at Home Depot or Lowe's. Always amazed at the inventory this little hardware store has. Staff is great and prices are reasonable.”
